Famous People Own DVC?

Does former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich count as a celebrity? I remember a few years ago he and his family were on vacation at SSR when someone went there to present him with indictment papers. Saw the footage and SSR actually was mentioned in the report. Member?

I remember hearing years ago that former President, Carter is a DVC member.

Hey was this on Sunday night? We were at Kidani all last week as well and saw him at the pool Sunday and in the hotel lobby later that night! He's kinda hard to miss ;)

Was this in November, by any chance? So funny you mention this. I was line for Nemo at AK, my wife had taken our girls to the bathroom. The guy in front of me looked EXACTLY like Blagojevich, but he had a hat pulled down. I was sure it was him. However, I had to wait at the entrance for my wife and he went into the show. I told my wife that I had seen him, and she told me I was crazy b/c this was in the middle of all the hubbub and she said he would never be at Disney.
We were there 11/13-11/20, 2009.

Some of the richest people I know are also the biggest tightwads.

Same here. :rotfl2:

The people who blow their money on those $2K/nt rooms are the rare ones who have the spend it here and now attitudes. Usually, they don't stay rich for too long. If they have a perpetual large income (say some famous movie director) and if they ever did have this behavior, it doesn't take too long for them to get that "taken advantage of" feeling when they finally realize they were charged such high rates and they grow out of it. DVC is a barrier against such over priced encounters.

Agree with the previous posters about the most famous (or the A list celebs) most likely do not own. Their schedules do not permit them to plan vacations in advance, etc. As they leave the spotlight and have more dependable schedules, they probably become members. Exceptions to this are probably the Celebs that buy in now for the occasional vacation, but use it for staffers/employees as well.

Your B, C and D list celebs have more free time to take an annual trip to Disney.

No, this was before those dates. Probably the spring/summer before. We were there 9/09 taking the tour (buying) and remembered about him being filmed there, looked like he was at the pool or at an outdoor table. Mentioned it to someone else we were with and they made a disparaging remark.............remember it well. I would not doubt that it was him. He does have a very distinctive appearance. ;)

The drummer from Bruce Springsteen (the guy that was on Soprano's for awhile) was on the bus with us heading back to Kidani opening weekend.

Joey Fatone from the boy band nsync and his wife are DVC members.

We've seen the Fatones at Jiko before. Last Dec we also saw them in the park. Without the guide you'd think they were just regular folks pushing a stroller like everyone else.

If I'm not mistaken a lot of those guys live or own houses in the area. I would also imagine some folks buy DVC prior to becoming famous as well.

Steven Van Zandt (aka "Little Steven", real last name Lento) is Bruce's guitist. he played Silvio on the Sopranos, but is not Bruce's drummer. that would be "Mighty Max" Weinberg, whom you may have seen as Conan O'Brien's drummer/band leader. both Stevie & Max are members of Bruce's E Street Band. :rolleyes1

I get mad that I can't watch the Fox News Channel at WDW....what's the deal!?

I guess it's all perception. I'm GLAD I don't have to suffer through Fox "News"'s propaganda while I'm on vacation. Their fantasy world and the Disney fantasy world are not a good match.
My guess is that the reason Disney does not carry it is that Rupert Murdoch probably wants too high a licensing fee.

Favre owns mega points at BWV's

And/(or?) 500 pts @ BCV (didn't find anything @ BWV) though Kelly and Joseph Fatone own 500 SSR points and a townhome in Windmere also.

Also didn't find Sean Hannity, Dennis Rodman, Jimmy/James or Eleanor Rosalynn, or Blagojevich for that matter.

Of course, just not finding the names is insufficient "evidence" - the issue could be as simple as the deed can be in a different name (relative, corp, LLC, etc).

I'm not saying any of the individuals listed do/don't own - just saying the names did not show up in an OC search.
