Hello All i am coming to my fellow DIS'ers for help and sanity. LOL. A year from now we will be heading down to our home for a family trip. DW and I have a daughter who will be almost 3 when we do down next year. There will be 16 of us consisting of Parents, Grandparents, Great Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and cousins.

Our home is AKL and will be booking a GV and a studio at our 11 month window with hopes of moving to BWV at the 7 month window. We want to be at BWV because we love it and because of convience for everyone. My first question is do you believe i have a shot at a GV at the 7 month mark for September. If not we will just stay at AKL which is a great just have to rely on Bus transportation for everything.

Next since all this FP+ and everything has come into effect once i book everything under 1 reservation how will this work. Will everyone create there own My Disney Experience Login so they can setup there own times for fp+ etc..

Also any pointers with a large group like this? We are a very close family and dont feel like any problems will arise but you also never know. Also though about some favor's for everyone like T-shirts done, maybe some laynards and pins?

Any thoughts suggestions or experience i would greatly appreciate it.

We did a trip with extended family last year (12 of us) and are doing it again next year (looks like 14 of us next time). We stayed in a rental house.

We did do matching family shirts two days, it's fun and looks great in pictures. Not everyone would have choose it on their own but everyone did wear it. :thumbsup2

I'm not into the pin thing and it will take a lot of time for 16 people to trade pins each day.

We choose the park ahead of time and made one adr for all of us each day. We went to the parks together and mostly stuck together but not 100%. My brother and his girlfriend went off alone for a portion of each day (she's not that into Disney or us, lol). All in all in went very well.

Have fun!

I think that chances are low that you'll get a GV at Boardwalk at the 7-month mark, but certainly not impossible! Obviously, September is a lower time to book, so chances are higher then than if you went in July. I would just plan on AKV, but then if you happen to get into BWV, bonus! It should be easy enough to change the rest of your plans at that point.

As far as FP+/MDE, you will have a couple of options. The person in charge of the reservation CAN make everyone's FP+ reservations, but for a group that size, I would suggest everyone make their own. In that case, each person will get a MDE account (you'll send an invite to their email) that will all link to the your single group reservation. When you make a FP+, you can choose who gets FP+ together. For example, we are going with my parents, but when I made FP+ reservations last week, I just picked myself and my husband for our FP+s, and will let my parents choose theirs (which can also link together for the same times).

I'm not sure about favors, but maybe you could get pins made for your family? I know some teens, college age kids aren't too into shirts, but it just depends on your family. The nice thing about pins (like, flat big round ones is what I'm thinking) is that they can be kept in keepsake boxes or on pin boards after you get home, while t-shirts will probably get worn once or twice and then not at all. But that's just us. You do whatever works for your family!
