Last whole day. Sunny and warm yes! Left DD and DSIL enjoying their day for a little rest and then some pool time. The rest onto bus for AK. As DVC members, we are allowed to preview Expedition Everest and receive a lanyard with commemorative pin. DS, DDIL and I decided to do the ride. GPA volunteered to stay with the kids at the Dinoland playground. Gave him my cell phone as DS and DDIL both have one. Short Tutorial on phone.
And we strode off toward the ride. Lines, lines, lines and Cast Members everywhere. It seemed as if they did not know what they were doing, but it just turned out that there was a great crowd. The line did move along, but we were in the line for 1 hr. 45 mins. I told them I was not sure I would ride, and debated for a long time. When I saw the disclaimer sign which says people with hypertension, that is when I decided not to do it. Went all the way up to the loading platform and enjoyed the preview story and displays. Then slipped out the exit and asked if I could have a lanyard anyway and they laughed and said sure. Went into the store and gave me my passes and got two lanyards. Of course, the ride exits in the store and I met DS and DDIL in there and they got their lanyards, too. DDIL loved the ride, thought it was good. DS is so macho and said it was not much at least not as good as the hype. So, since I did not ride it myself, I cant really say.
Back to the playground. Called to see just where they were. We did meet up and they were ready for lunch, although they had enjoyed a snack. Good Grampa! So, once more into the . Restarantosaurus [sic] and had burgers, chicken fingers, FF, etc. DD and DSIL called and asked where we were and met us, too. DD,.DSIL and I decide on take the Primeval Whirl. Fun ride, but I did have my eyes closed part of the time. After that discussion ensued. Decision made to make our way over to MK.
Onto bus and over to TTC. This time we take the ferry, which had just unloaded and ready for trip back. Nice trip, but we did notice that it was getting cooler again. Whats with that? Everyone over to Frontierland. We get FP for Splash Mountain and for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. While we wait for the time designated we all trek on the rafts over to Tom Sawyers Island. Kids have a great time running around, but time is limited as they close the island at sunset. Back to rides. Those who rode BTMR, really loved it, including our daring DGD and DGS, and those who rode Splash, also loved it, including the grandkids again. No one got too wet, but it was getting cooler and windy, so OP, along with DS, DDIL and kids took bus back to OKW.
We got off at the HH and had dinner at Olivias. Very good. Then into Conch Flats General Store for some Mickey ice cream bars for dessert. Yum! Walked back to the GV from HH. DD and DSIL ate at the Kona Café in the Polynesian. They too enjoyed their meal.
Back at the GV, I put lots of warm water into the large spa tub (along with a little body wash for BUBBLES and the kids got in with their chocolate faces and bathing suits and had some fun getting clean. Off to bed and off to packing for the adults.
