We'd like to do the matching t-shirts for our family of 6 for our visit at the end of May 2014. We'll order 2-3 shirts each so 12-18 total.

We're also headed to Zion and Yellowstone after Disney so would like to design a graphic that includes all these locations. Maybe like a concert road trip t-shirt?

Any recommendations for on-line companies that do this?

Thanks,

I see commercials all the time for customink.com don't really know much about it everytime i see the commercial I say im gonna look because we want to do matching shirts also but I never have lol

Check on Etsy online and search disneyland tee's they have lots of cute ones! I believe there are certain vendors that will let you customize also on there.

I did a bunch of shirts for our trip to WDW a few years ago and they turned out great. We got tons of compliments on them and even had people asking which gift shop they could purchase them at!

I started by going to the DISign board threads here on the DIS and found some of the designs there -many from RustManFan aka Marion- she even customized some of them for me with names and the year. Then I ordered the best iron on tranfers from AmyMickey (you can google her website) and printed them through my home printer onto the transfers. I ordered the tee shirts from Hanes.

They turned out great, and even 2 years later have held up to being washed.
Amymickey also has a bunch of non Disney designs on her sight to check out that might work for the other parts of your trip.

Yep...I do what Pam has recommended. Very easy to print out your transfers, iron to a t-shirt, tank top or whatever else you want to make then go on your merry way! I have shirts I've made from 5 years ago and they still look brand new. You can't go wrong with Amy's transfers.

Lots of different designers over on the Creative DISigns board. Be sure to read the 'sticky's' at the top to get a better feel for how the board works and runs.

I usually get my t-shirts/tanks from WalMart as opposed to ordering them online.

Have fun planning!

If you have your own graphic of what you want, I would see what the price would be for a local screen printer to do them. Cheaper than many online places. I usually can get a 2 color screen for like 8 bucks on a colored shirt.

I also did this and would highly recommend this method!

albeit a bit more pricy, Lands End does somethinglike this. and, a very good job indeed.

however, the wal mart shirts are just as good.

IF everyone is willing, do it. Bright green and Bright yellow are good choices.

Grey is nice, but can show sweat.

I asked my DW about this and she suggests getting different color shirts for each of the 2 or 3 sets. That way you have some variety- Everyone wear the yellow shirts today, tomorrow the green shirts and the next day the blue ones.

vista print does some nice shirts with pictures and text you can add yourself. With a sale I just ordered some for disney world and the cost for 8 shirts was only around $60.00. By thje way these were adult shirts.

We have done this before using Zazzle.com, but this year I am ordering from a couple of people on Etsy who make Disney pictures and will also personalize them. They send you a file in email that is jpg, and then I bought iron on transfer paper to print them myself. No shipping either!!! Our Michael's craft store has all of their t-shirts for $2.99 right now and they have several colors from kids to adult XXL. Each jpg picture is between $3-5 and since we are matching, I can use the same picture for all of us for that day. Basically I am spending $18 on t-shirts and $3 for the picture per day, for 6 people!!! My two favorite Etsy artists for this are "Swirly Color Pixels" and "My Heart Has Ears", but if you enter "Disney iron on transfers" into the Etsy search engine, you will get a ton. I usually narrow it down to a specific character. I'm also doing the same thing with drawstring bags for the kids. Just a thought on something economical. Have fun!:goodvibes

does anyone have any good ideas for something that can be used as an identifier but thats not a tshirt?

also, what do parents do for identifying kids in case they get lost? a wristband or something with our details on it?

first time travelling with kids - and even though theyre not mine still want to take care of them!! :rotfl: their parents (my step bro & sister in law) will be there too but they are first timers.

I have heard of people getting temporary tattoos to put on kids but I don't know the company name. Maybe someone else can help you out with that.:)

This was just a story on our local news and I can't for the life of me remember the names of the places that do them, but some people also mentioned using a sharpie and writing your contact info like under the shirt sleeve

I used Uberprints.com .. The shirts are made really nice and come pretty quickly best part is you get to design your own shirts ! I did it twice now once for my daughters sweet 16 at WDW and for our up coming trip to WDW for my sisters 30th ! ...

Just a note - check out the Creative DISign board on here (under Just for Fun). They have great designers who also create tshirt designs and other things, and personalize them for free!! It's a great resource!!

I second safetytat.com!! Have used for 6 yrs now - my kids help design them online, love getting them put on, and know what they are needed for.

Each trip to Disney, I am asked by about 20-25 moms at a minimum where I bought the tattoos from.

At O'hare about 3 yrs ago after DL trip, I took son in stroller in elevator to baggage claim, hubby had daughter and she bolted back thru security. Tsa agent got her, called the # on her arm from tattoo, got me within 1-2 minutes after she ran away from hubby. Worth every penny!!

Just don't put sunscreen on it or on skin underneath before applying.
