family style and buffet meals

Ok i know what buffet meals are but what are family style meals. They say they are all you can eat so whats different about them over a buffet

At family style all you can eat, all of the food is served on big platters and brought to your table. Then it's refilled as needed.

...if you have a good server. Some have the practice of disappearing-vanishing for an extended period of time as we have experienced at WCC and Ohana.

I like that idea better because I am not a buffet person having people getting there own food, I have a phobia about this. I am going to Boma for the breakfast buffett but I am going right at the first opening 7:35 I do believe it is, I am gonna have to call and confirm thta and write it done.

loved the family style food at Ohana's. We were stuffed and they still kept offering to bring more. DELICIOUS!!!

my husband and i will be going to LTT this year and i was wondering.. will be seated at a table with other people or will we have our own table??? i'm not sure how the family style works.. TIA!

you do get your own table. I think the only place in WDW IIRC that has 'communal' seating is Biergarten.

And the habachi style place in Japan (8 people). There, the food is prepared in front of you. At the Biergarten, it's a buffet (8 people). You also share cars at Sci Fi and each group orders from their own menus (6 people).
