We are up and at em early again for early entry at Magic Kingdom, and more of that audio cappuccino. We all want to hit the Mountains, so we are off to Space Mountain first. Our first snafu, it is not open yet, some sort of technical difficulty. We decide to wait a few minutes and are rewarded with a quick opening! DS thought it was really cool. Next we hit Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin. DS said he had to go again right now(he said that his Sis wouldn't let him spin it), so he and I did it again and he had the spin control the whole time. We went over to the Mad Tea Party which only DD, DS and I rode. Dad took pictures of us. Next we rode Snow White's Scary Adventure. We picked up Fastpasses for Peter Pan's Flight and headed over to the Haunted Mansion. Then we did Mickey's Philharmagic with almost no wait at all. We did lunch at Columbia Harbor House (not our best meal, but not bad) and then did Peter Pan and went over to Splash and Big Thunder Mountain. Splash had a posted wait time of 20 minutes, and I went over and got Fastpasses to Big Thunder Mountain. We got in the line, against our better judgementeven though the posted time said 20 minutes, it looked longer. Our eyes were right. We were in line about an hour! I have to say that Disney tries hard to make your wait in their lines as pleasant as possible. Especially on the more recently built rides there's always something to look at and lots of things to keep you cool and amused. Not so on the Splash Mountain line as long as it was. At least it wound around outside the building in the shade!! The ride was great and although we wouldn't have minded by this time, we didn't get very wet. By the time we finished and got over to Big Thunder Mountain, it was down. Apparently there were technical difficulties there too. We were all pretty tired by this time and decided to go back to the Beach Club. We rode the Walt Disney Railroad back to the Main Street Station. DH's back was acting up and he was trying hard not to complain. As we rode the bus back to the Beach Club, DH turned to me and said, "Did I tell you I was elected Judge back in my home state?"
By the time we got back to the Beach Club the kids were already revived, so they went to Stormalong Bay Pool. I tried to see what I could do to help DH with his back. Then I rested a little bit, and went and dragged the kids out of the pool.
DH decided the best thing for his back would be to rest in the bed for awhile. So I took the kids back to Magic Kingdom for the rides we had missed that we still wanted to do. We made our way toward Big Thunder Mountain to use the Fastpasses from the morning. Along the way we stopped and did the Pirates of the Caribbean and the Jungle Cruise. We even did the Enchanted Tiki Room. I talked DS out of waiting in the line for the Magic Carpets of Aladdin with the lure of Big Thunder Mountain. DS loved Big Thunder Mountain! We decided to see how long the line was at Space Mountain. It wasn't bad, so we hit it once more and then we started on our roundabout journey back to the Beach Club.
I decided we needed to ride the Monorail, so we took the express to the TTC, then rode over to Epcot. We took some pictures, watched the cool fountain choreographed to music, hit Ice Station Cool. That's where Sis got DS back for the "special" Hidden Mickeys. We started trying the different sodas. Sis was clued in to the Beverly, so she really played up to DS how great it was. He had just tasted the watermelon flavored one and liked it an awful lot, so he was horrified by the taste of Beverly. Sis smiled the rest of the evening!!
I was a little worried about DH's back. But when we made it back to the Beach Club, he was getting up and said it was much better. We decided to use our Q & C Vouchers I had bought on the DISauctions at Beaches and Cream and see if we had any time left to swim. The vouchers ended up being a great deal. We used 2 and split the meals. We all left full!
Only the quiet pool was open, so the kids hit it for a little while.
Tomorrow is AK and MGM (ya know we have to see Fantasmic!)
