Family of 6 visits the Mouse - **NEW Day 8 - MK**

Great report! I love your pictures too! Can't wait to hear more....

Wow, super report. I wish I had an obsessive planner to do the work for me! I'm so indecisive. Keep them coming.

Great report. :thumbsup2
I love reading about your family.
Are you sure your mom won't accept any applications for adoption?

Looking forward to the next report. Not to long for me; I love to read every little detail about WDW. ;)

Sorry... last time I checked, DM was not taking applications for any more kids. She pretty much has her hands full with what she has but thanks for asking.

We ended our fairly uneventful day with our favorite show of all – Fantasmic. We all love this show. In my opinion, nothing comes close to it.

IA. It's so...DISNEY!!! :goodvibes

I can't wait to hear more! Fantasmic is also my favorite. In fact there are several people at my company that have been to Disney many times and I just asked them what their favorite night time show was and the majority said Fantasmic! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :grouphug:

Day 4 – Epcot

Once again, we didn’t make it to park opening but this was our own problem. We just couldn’t get up and out. We only missed opening by about a half hour though. We walked in and went right over to Soarin’. Here’s a pic of me and DD waiting in line:

caroljenna.jpg

I LOVED this ride. In my opinion, Soarin' totally ride lived up to all the hype it’s getting. It’s relaxing, exhilarating, fun and peaceful. My only complaint? I wanted it to last longer. I just loved it. The first time we rode it, we were in the third row and I know what people mean when they complain about seeing the feet of the people in front of you – it does take away from the ride a bit because we got off and hopped right back on again and this time we got the first row and it was nice not to see other people’s feet but again, I loved this ride. Fun!

So… I’ve told you how DS, for the most part, just goes along for the ride. She never really has an agenda and we just tell her where and when and she just shows up? Well, for whatever reason, she wanted to see Crush. I totally did not want to but had to bite my tongue because it was one of the few things she said she wanted to do so we did and surprisingly, we really enjoyed it! The kids were completely embarrassed waiting in line because they were by far the oldest kids and as teenagers, they didn’t like that at all so they stood next to a family in line that had a bunch of small kids and pretended to be with them. Funny thing though – we were one of the first people to walk in and if you’ve never been to Crush before, they let all the “little” kids sit on the floor – in the very front. Well, DN2 is short for his age (13) and when we sat down (not on the floor) the CM said to DN2, “hey little guy, come on down and sit in front.” Well, of course, he was mortified because a) he called him “little guy”, and b) all the kids that were starting to congregate on the floor were no older than 5 or 6 so of course we had to tease DN2 the rest of the show and call him “little guy.” I was very surprised to see that Crush actually does interact with all the kids in the audience and it really was fun. Here’s a picture of us actually enjoying the show…

We walked over to Test Track and after standing in line for a good half hour, we heard an announcement stating that there were "complications" and the ride was being shut down "temporarily." Temporary is way too arbitrary of a word - what does that mean? Everyone else in the line must have been thinking the same thing because we all just stood there and looked each other - waiting for someone else to make a move. No one did and no one really got out of the line because after all, we had already invested a good half hour in the line and we were more than half way there. Sure enough, within 5 minutes, the ride was up and we were moving again... for about 10 more minutes. At this point, we were pretty much at the end of the line - we were almost there and sure enough here comes that same dang announcement! Okay, it had been about an hour now - we were not getting out of this line. It was "temporarily shut down again." While we waited we watched the FastPass line grow longer and longer and we knew once they got the ride back going again, they'd grab all the FastPass people first and we could all feel our entire day starting to slip through our fingers but what do you do at this point? Give up and walk away after an hour? No way! We were troopers and we were all in this together! We hung in there and after another 10 minutes or so, we were moving again although I wasn't totally comforted with the fact that it kept breaking down and we were so willingly ready to hop right on and ride it? We finally got on the ride and I think we were stopped at least twice while riding the stupid thing. Kinda ruined the ride for us but we were able to ride it and be done with it. Personally, Test Track isn't one of my favorites, but I figured the boys would like it. They weren't all that impressed either. Oh well - move on!

We started meandering through the countries in World Showcase but we knew we were coming back to Epcot for another day so we really weren’t in much of a hurry. We watched the drum people in Japan – which we always enjoy. We watched the American Adventure and DM, DS and I really enjoyed it, but I'm pretty sure the kids all fell asleep.

We were walking over the bridge between France and Germany (I think) and we noticed Chip and Dale down a little alcove so we walked down there to get a few pics with them. Here’s one of DM and Chip and Dale:

It was really fun because we were the only ones down there with them. After we took a few pictures, I tried talking to them thinking, no one is around – they can talk to me. But I quickly realized, a) chipmunks don’t talk and b) their handler was too close – even if they wanted to. It just seemed like such a shame to leave the characters all alone – with no one around. I mean, how often does that happen? After we stood there staring at each other for a minute or two - sizing each other up - quickly realizing there's not a whole lot more that you can do with two chipmunks who won't talk to you besides take pictures - we slowly started to walk away and as we did I turned around to see what they do when no one is looking. Well, don’t let those cute little fuzzy faces fool you. They’re just little rodents with a cute exterior. I couldn’t believe what they did. They walked up to a parked stroller and grabbed a Coke that was sticking out of a back bag in the stroller and I watched in fascination thinking – the stroller must be a prop and this is where they hide stuff they need. I thought I was going to see them de-mask mask and take a swig of Coke. Oh no. They shook it. A lot. They put it back in the stroller and they pointed to each other and laughed. It was hilarious. So… if you happened to be at Epcot on April 3 and your stroller was parked between France and Germany and you had an extremely flat Coke, you can blame Chip and Dale. I would have LOVED to have gotten that on video. Priceless.

Because of the DIS, we really felt we had to try LeCellier for dinner because everyone pretty much raves about this place. We liked it a lot – didn’t love it. Again, I think because it was hyped so much – it ruined it for us a bit. One thing that didn’t help was we got a really crappy waitress. She wasn’t mean or crabby, she just wasn’t good. She forgot everything – she didn’t refill beverages, etc. Here’s a picture of us at LeCellier:

We really wished we would have had this waiter because he knew how to have a good time:

DM, DS and I all had the petite filet and we all like our steak medium rare. DM and DS’s were medium rare, mine was well done (which I found odd, considering we all ordered ours the same way and two out of three were right.) I contemplated eating it but quickly realized I’m not paying (funny that I say “I”, DM isn’t paying) $22 for a petite filet (and they aren’t kidding when they say petite) so I sent mine back and was brought out a new one fairly quickly. DN1 ordered a sirloin and his actually had more flavor than mine. The pretzel bread was to die for – that definitely lived up to its reputation. The cheese soup was also really good. We loved the atmosphere and I’m glad we went – but I’m not sure we’d go back again. I think had we had a better waiter, it would have made all the difference to us. It was still really good, just wasn’t knock your socks off great.

We had fairly early reservations at LeCellier so by the time we were done it was late afternoon, it was hot, the kids were getting tired and we knew we were coming back, so we left for the day and let the kids hang out in the pool.

Next up - AK!

Another good report. I love reading them. I like the fact that you include pictures with the report.

Do you know how to tell the difference between Chip and Dale?

In my haste to post my last report, I realized I forgot to add three pictures.

This is a great picture of DN1. I love him dearly but this Disney trip wasn't his #1 pick for spring break and bless his heart - he was such a trooper and deep down inside, I know he really did enjoyed himself. DS took this picture of him and I just thought it was such a great picture because 1) he's smiling; 2) he's smiling for the picture; and 3) he's surrounded by flowers.

Here's a picture of DS and me. I haven't been very good about including pictures of DS and she's the best sister you could ever ask for and my best friend so here you go:

Oh yeah. Have you ever checked out the chair guy in France? Here's a picture of him, in case you don't know who I'm talking about. Okay, this guy really bothered me. It was really hard watching him because I was really sure he was going to fall. Chairs are purposely made to sit on - not stack and climb and do handstands on. It hurt to watch him. And I know I said I secretly wanted to see the MGM stunt car guys crash - I didn't want to see this guy crash and fall... I'm not that mean.

Okay, I'm done for the day.

Reading your report makes me so excited to go back to Disney in August! Even though that's pretty much a lifetime away! :guilty:

But, I must say - I absolutely LOVE your daughter's hair! :)

Lauren - August isn't really that far away! It will be here before you know it. Thanks for the compliment on my daughter's hair. Her looks scare me - I think I'm going to be in a world of trouble once she starts getting interested in boys, which hopefully won't be for another 10-15 years!

Pat - Something with the color of Chip & Dale's noses - but I forget every time. One is red - one is brown - don't know the difference though. I just know not to have any unattended pop sitting anywhere near them.

Chip has the black nose and one tooth, Dale has the red nose and two teeth.

One easy way to remember which is which is to just think chocolate chip.

Love your reports! :thumbsup2 The pictures are a great way to add to the report. :) Only 17 more days till I get to enjoy WDW too  :Pinkbounc

Really enjoying the reports, you seem to be having a great time as a family. Think Chip and Dale were enjoying their jobs a little too much maybe :teeth:

i have to sub to this one! great great trip report, and i LOVE all the details! well done! and what ever happened to the scooter? did they send out a new one or a new key? lol!

Goofy - DM and DS exchanged the broken scooter with a new one the next day so all was fine. We were also very careful with the key from thereon out! It was amazing how quickly we could load and unload the scooter into the van once we got our system down. We would get the scooter all loaded back in the van AND get ourselves loaded into the van before DM planted herself back in... although DM does move very slooooow.

By the way, thanks everyone for reading this trip report... I'm so glad you're enjoying it. I'm almost done with the next installment and will hopefully get it posted tomorrow. I think I'm starting to get carried away with the pictures though... at least that what DSis thinks, but whose report is this for crying out loud?
