Hi, I just booked a 4 day wonder for August 29 Cat. 10 adjoining rooms for myself, DH, DD 12, DS 5 and DD4. Total cost for all of us including all taxes and port charges, 3,100 with cruise.com.. Keep trying until you get what you want. BTW rooms for a family of 5 are much more expensive. Try inside adjoing cabins. Good Luck.

Just wanted to throw out there that in Disney terminology "Adjoining" means side by side with NO connecting door... "Connecting" means that it would have the physical door in the rooms to connect them from inside. This is a big issue when traveling with kids and is often misleading on Disney's part. Make sure that your rooms are in fact connecting :)

Yes make sure that they are connecting......we did that back on Feb 1st of this year on a 4 nighter, 2 connecting cat 10's, me, wife, and 3 girls, 12, 11, 8....it worked out great, pleny of room, enough privacy for wife and I but still felt at ease knowing that door was open during the night in case something happened or what. By the way the price that you got from cruise.com of $3100.00 is pretty good. Allseasons travel.com their pricing for the same cruise for cat 10's is $3050.00, so you got a good price I think. Enjoy your cruise you will love it and so will the kids.

Hi!

I just wanted to mention that there are NO connecting rooms in Categories 12 or 11 (Standard Inside Staterooms). The lowest category connecting staterooms available start at Category 10 (Deluxe Inside Staterooms).

We had booked a Category 4 stateroom (Deluxe Family Stateroom with Verandah) and were debating whether to get connecting inside cabins. It would have been $350 cheaper, but dh decided that since this will be our first cruise (5/5/05) that we should splurge for the Category 4. He really likes family togetherness! I, on the other hand, teach our sons at home and are with them almost 24/7. A big wall between us with a connecting door would have been nice, but we'll probably only be in there to sleep anyway on the 3-night. Looks like dh & I will have lots of one-to-one time while the boys are in the Oceaneer Club/Lab!!

Whenever you go I'm sure you'll have fun. After all, it's Disney!! ::MickeyMo

I have to say I would go with 2-10's preferably on deck 5! This is almost impossible since there are only 2 rooms on each side that do this but they have the secret porthole. You would get a lot more square footage plus bathrooms- 2 tub/showers, 2 toliets, 2 sinks! In a cat 4(which we had last time we cruised) you do not get a whole lot of extra room. It really factored out to 1 extra chair and a double trunk. We took a friend for my DD and we loved the extra storage but floor space wasn't enough for us.

We are also a family of 5. We went on the Wonder in 2002 and had a verandah cabin. We loved the verandah but the murphy bed and the storage was a little annoying (sp?) trying to get around them to go on the verandah in the early morning or late at night.
This cruise (Dec.5th) we have connecting, Cat. 10 rooms. We had several reasons for going w/those rooms: cost, have more room, and because DH tends to get car/sea sick. We have been on 2 other cruises and he has not felt well most of the trip. We're hoping by having those rooms at the bottom of the boat he can avoid some of that. We could have chosen 2 standard rooms but they would not have been connecting and we wouldn't get the split bathroom, which we found to be very convenient.
We wouldn't have to have connecting necessarily, but our kids will be 16, 13, and 7 when we go and I don't want the 7year old to be in the hall alone if he needs to get to me in the middle of the night or whatever. Much more convenient for all of us if we have a door between us. That is what we do when we stay at one of the All Star hotels. Very nice for us and we have double everything. We have also stayed at the Yacht Club, AK, and what used to be Dixie Landings. Those are our favorites, but when we want to save we stay at AS Resorts.
This board helped us so much the last time and I'm already psyched for this trip! My family and friends think I'm a little looney! Of course they all benefit from my 'loonyness'!

Initially we were going with Deluxe outside and the more we thought about it, the more we liked the idea of two rooms. My husband doesnt do too well with all of us cooped up in the same room. Beside there is always a chance that they might get some sleep and we can have some alone night time!!:earseek:
