Family of 5 (three kids, two adults) looking to purchase!

I’d agree with PP-the only person in my family I feel completely confident will still like Disney for a long time is me :) so I purchased mostly based on what I love the most. My adult daughter still loves to go with-the younger two do as well but both probably prefer Universal (15 year old for thrill rides and youngest for Harry Potter).

Your three children will not be under six for long. I wouldn't buy for a studio that sleeps five. I'd buy with a one bedroom that sleeps five officially at a minimum and with an extra bathroom (Kidani and BLT fit that) in mind. Once you buy, suddenly your relatives will all want to join you on your trips. Learn to say "Here's the number for WDW to make a reservation" since you own a timeshare and they think it won't cost you anything to bring them along. Before long grandparents will want to join and you'll be booking an extra studio or a two bedroom.

With the high initial cost of points and the continually rising annual fees, plus park admission, dining and transportation, you will be poor before long. Then there are the college savings accounts you'll be putting money into so you have enough when the three under six are looking at colleges.

DVC is a really expensive timeshare. We bought in 1997 and paid $50 a point for our initial points and no more than $65 a point for our remaining points. We currently have 325, live in SW Florida and being retired, we can go for short three or four night trips using a Florida Resident weekday AP. We did have 500 at one point but didn't like sending so much money each month to Disney to pay our annual fees. We sold two contracts for more than we originally paid. It will be hard to do that now if you have to sell. Prepare to not gain money by selling.
