Hi, We are a family of 2 adults and 3 kids aged 6, 9,10.
We have in the past stayed at HIFS [once]and Buena Vista Suites[several times]
We are planning a week stay in Oct and are looking for hotel recommendatons. We last stayed at BVS in Feb 02 and were a bit disappointed in their breakfast buffet. The other times we had lots to pick from , but very sparse offerings in Feb- seasonal problem maybe??
A nice breakfast might be one of the deciding factors in our choice so that we are all ready for the parks- cost is another. Anyone have suggestions? thanks patty:Pinkbounc

Embassy Suites has an outstanding breakfast buffet. Eggs/omlettes cooked to order. I stayed in the Caribe Royale (sister propoerty to BVS) and thought the breakfast was cafeteria quality (edible and free). ES breafast was restaurant quality.

We have looked for similar accomodations and have stayed at several suite hotels. We only have 2 children so we have more options. Frankly, we haven't found anything we like better than HIFS. It is not elegant, (after all it IS a Holiday Inn), but it is modern and clean. The separate bedroom for the kids and the 3 TV's are benefits we have not been able to find for a similar price. While the breakfast buffet is not gourmet, it is generally good and the items vary somewhat from day to day. The kids like the pool and the evening activities. We have stayed there several times and have never been disappointed.

You said you stayed at HIFS but are still looking for an alternative. Was there something specific you did not like about it? I might have some suggestions if I knew more about what you are looking for that you didn't find at HIFS.

Isn't Embassy Suites a bit pricy? I've stayed in them for business and paid a fortune. Never been to the one near Disney World but when I checked it out, the prices seemed to be MUCH higher than BVS and HIFS

HIFS has a very tiny room for the kids that I remember- a very small rollaway or pullout type bed for the littlest ,that she just made it into a couple years ago. I am basically looking for a little more room, a good breakfast, a pool for the kids ,and not too expensive a stay. I will check out embassy suites. Is this in the LBV area? Thanks

Residence Inn at Seaworld and LBV are great choices. The SW location is new this summer and the LBV location new last year.

Good breakfast, spacioius rooms, a good value with AAA.

Also, Summerfield Suites and Hawthorn Suites LBV are good. You might get an ent. rate with these hotels.

Herc..

Micky--ES tends to be more expensive than some of the other suite hotels but as with other Orlando hotels deep discounts are available if you look. ES is generally less expensive than a Disney moderate. The quality of ES breakfast is one that I'd pay for as opposed to the other suite hotels in which the free breakfast is worth what you pay for it.

One more person here who was very impressed with Embassy Suites' breakfast. We are breakfast eaters, and the ES breakfast served us well. We generally ate a wonderful breakfast and a late afternoon dinner with a snack here and there and had enough.

In addition to the cooked to order, the hot breakfast buffet is also set up, so you can help yourself. I had a ham and cheese omelet (cooked to order) with french toast (buffet) every morning (excellent quality too).

The bedroom in our suite was large (2 queen beds), and the front part of the suite was adequate (kitchenette - microwave & small fridge, dining table, and living area with sleeper sofa).

We stayed at the ES on International Drive (Convention Center), and it had 2 pools (one indoor, one outdoor). I don't know how similar the LBV location is, but it's probably great too. I think they're owned by the same company.
