In a recent Disney Magazine one of the letters on the "Bulletin Board" mentions the Family Magic Tour at the Magic Kingdom. It sounded like some sort of Treasure Hunt. I searched the Disney.com site with no success. Is anyone aware of this tour? Where can I find additional information?

Thanks-

We did it last year-- and are doing it again this year-- it is $25 per person and when you call the phone number for tours they know about the tour and will book it-- I think it is only offered once per day-- 10- noon-- and I think (Ijust talked to them two weeks ago so I should remember) it is now every day (M-F) instead of just on T-Th as it used to be. There are some great descriptions of people's experiences on www.wdwig.com

My then 5 year old loved it, and as adults, we liked it alot-- you basically walk from the Town Hall to Tomorrowland to Fantasyland and then back to the little garden by Crystal palace-- and do all kinds of silly things along the way-- then the area is roped off and someone brings the "treasure"-- and then everyone goes on a special ride-- it was the absolute highlight of the trip for my son-- special, special magic. You do need to be prepared to walk quite a bit. Diane

I was looking into that also to use for one of my wishes. Is it just a tour of the park or do you get to see anything backstage and how the park runs.
Thanks

We absoultely loved it (no backstage to answer someone) just great fun in the park. My DD, now 8, still talks about it from 3 years ago. We want to do it again but were told it is still identical, same hunt, same roped off area, same character. I wish they would go for some different ones.:(

Anyone who hasn't done it, I highly recommend it. It is a magical memory.

We will be going to WDW in December with an 8 year old, 6 year old, and 8 month old. Is this tour manageable with a baby (who will obviously be in a stroller)? If so, we'd love to do it!
Thanks!

Is this something a 12 year old would enjoy or is it geared more towards the younger children? How long does it take? We will be there next week!! - but I hear the weather is in the 90's!! Not sure how much "walking around at the parks" vs/ pool time/water park time we will be doing!?

It should be fine-- we didn't go into any places where you couldn't take the stroller-- there is some hopping and skipping -- but they will slow down and wait for you and the stroller to catch up. (And also to read the map and get ready to figure out where we are going next.)

it depends on how willing your 12 year old is to look silly among strangers-- the 12 year old might find it a bit "dorky"-- I think it is geared maybe more toward the 10 and younger-- but I have read that adults only have taken the tour and liked it.

It is 2 hours long-- with a sit and drink break built in for about 10 minutes or so.
