Family, friends, teachers & Stacy too! - The End 9/27 page 14

After our little detour, we made our way to Adventureland. We stopped at the Tiki Room first. It was 7:15.

We wanted to ride Pirates next, but it was closed. We moved on to Big Thunder then Haunted Mansion.

Then we watched Hall of Presidents & I received a text from Laura that, after checking again with her daughter, the Minnie I was looking for was red, not pink, with a satiny dress.

After HoP, we skipped over Fantasyland and went to Tomorrowland through Fantasyland and got to see the pretty new Tangled area at night.

Space Mountain:

After Space, we noticed that Stitch & Goofy were having a party. We walked by but didn’t stay.

Next we rode TTA. It’s always hard to get good pictures as you zoom around.

Next we crossed back through the hub (in the madness of the castle light show). We thought we were stuck, but somehow made it through. We back tracked so we could ride Splash before leaving. First we rode Big Thunder again, and got to do one of my favorite things… Big Thunder during Wishes!! I was bad and didn’t take any pictures! I just wanted to enjoy the ride & the fireworks.

Then it was time to get wet on Splash Mountain.

We decided to take a ride on Jungle cruise before leaving, then headed out. We stopped at the Emporium again to check out the red Minnie’s and I took some more pictures for Laura. Here’s what I found this time:

We’d be back again so I didn’t wait for an answer about Minnie. We headed out of the park for the night.

Chef Mickey's looks like so much fun. I wish Jack liked characters. Joey would have a blast. Your kids looked like they had a blast, love the twirling the napkins pictures you got.

You got some great pictures on your way from BTMRR to HM.:) You guys got a lot of rides in that evening.

can't wait to see your next day photos and see if you found the right Minnie for your friend.:goodvibes

Joining! Late, but all caught up. I love that this will be a nice long trip! We are planning on 14 days next year, so I like seeing what you guys got to fit into each day.

Your boys are adorable!

Great to see an update! I have been trying to catch up on subbed TRs this weekend, so perfect timing!

Love all the family pictures at Chef Mickey's. The boys look like they are having a blast.

Also - what a fun evening in the MK. I love that picture of BTMMR that you took from the graveyard. Very cool shot.

Hope your summer settles down enough to enjoy it before the boys head back to school!

Just got back today. Sad to be home but we'll be back for Labor Day weekend and my b-day Yay!!! ;)

Loved all your pics at CM. We love going on rides during the parade and wishes. The boys love the rides at night- they are so different.

I am exhausted!! I can't believe we were there a month. It felt like a 2 week vacation. It just goes by SO fast no matter how long you're there. :(

Thank goodness we will be there 3 more times this year. Woohoo!:)

Nice updates - Chef Mickey's and lots of fun in Magic Kingdom! I bet your Big Thunder ride was super cool!

Our girls love the dance parties. :dance3:

Hope you found the perfect Minnie before the trip ended. :)

Great update, Amy. I love the pictures at Chef Mickey's (we've not been in 9 years...just can't get past that food). The one with Pluto is priceless.

You got a lot done that night, and great pictures throughout.

It's too bad that Jack doesn't like the characters! Could you go to Chef Mickey's if he just stayed at the table & only Joey went up to the characters? :confused3

Just a few months late but I used your chapter links and caught up!!!

:welcome: Our next trip will be another 12 day trip in February... but it probably won't be all at Disney.

This summer really has been crazy... now we're down to three weeks until school starts.

I'm so far behind on all of my subbed TRs... no idea when I'm going to get caught up, but I want to keep this one rolling.

It was a great MK filled day & night!

BTMRR during Wishes is one of my favorite things to do at Disney! :thumbsup2

I can see your girls jumping right in at the dance parties! Zach all of a sudden gets shy when he sees things like that going on.

More on the Minnie saga to come.

Great pics! :goodvibes

Thank you!

The food is not our favorite at Chef Mickey's but it continues to come to the top of Alex's list of favorite restaurants. :confused3

Day 8 – Wednesday 4/24:

I don’t have a ton of pictures from this day so I will do a quick summary & move along… Today was supposed to be our day to go to Animal Kingdom but we had switched it around due to the weather & a cut on Alex’s foot. His foot was doing much better so we headed off to Blizzard Beach. This was our first time there. One thing we have figured out is that when we go someplace for the first time, our kids check it out then are done pretty quickly. Knowing this going into things makes it much less disappointing when after just a couple hours they are ready to go. We did enjoy ourselves & I’m sure we’ll be back in the future… thought I think I liked Typhoon Lagoon better. Based on rehab schedules, if it’s warm enough for a waterpark next February, Blizzard Beach will probably be our only choice. Anyway… I did bring a waterproof camera but haven’t filled it up yet so I haven’t developed it yet. Sorry no pictures of the morning!

We had planned to take the ski lift up and ride Teamboat Springs first (the family raft ride). Alex was still a bit spooked from getting stuck on one of the solo body slides the previous year at TL and wasn’t up for a solo ride. Unfortunately Teamboat Springs wasn’t up & running yet. We had two ways down, walk back down or take the mat slides. Zach was freaking out because we’d left the goggles in the locker and Alex wasn’t sure about the mat slides. After checking them out, Alex opted to ride the mat slides down with Tim. Because the mat slides are face first, and having left the goggles in the locker, Zach opted to walk down to get the goggles. I went with him. After getting the goggles we headed over to the play area. The kids loved this area & may choose BB as their favorite waterpark because of this attraction alone. There was an overhead cargo net to cross the “icebergs” in the water, a zipline and some small slides. I think I rode down one of the small slides with Zach.

Teamboat Springs opened back up & the boys were willing to wait in line for the chairlift so up we went again. We’d already been there quite a while and all I had ridden was the chairlift twice & one kiddie slide. Luckily Teamboat Springs was still running when we finally got up there. It was a great ride! Next we found the double raft rides & rode down Runoff Rapids. Then we took a spin around the lazy river. It’s a long river! I got a little disoriented but we made it most of the way around before getting out. At that point the boys were ready to go. We hadn’t even had lunch yet but that was OK we had a big night ahead of us so off we went. We had a decent lunch from the bar & grill at the resort.

This was the night we were meeting back up with Jeff & Karen, along with our niece, K, at a Tampa Bay Rays game. I don’t have any notes from that night but do have pictures! The Rays were playing the Yankees, which worked out really well since Tim & Alex are Yankees fans and we don’t get to see them play very often. Living in NH, it’s much easier to see Zach’s (and my) favorite… the Red Sox.

A goofy pictures, but here’s most of the gang:

K, on the end, then Alex, Tim, Jeff & Zach. And a phone picture of me & Karen:

And now Karen being goofy:

Zach being silly/confused with Alex’s Yankees hat on.

The Yankees were behind so Tim & Alex put on their rally caps:

Part way through the game, Jeff started feeling sick so they had to leave. Unfortunately we didn’t get to spend the whole game with them but we had a good time. Jeff had hurt his back when they were playing with the boys in the pool earlier in the week. Karen had prescribed his a muscle relaxer… which is what made him feel sick. He ended up having a ruptured disc & needed surgery about a month after we saw them.

Up next: Day 9 - Epcot redo & some friends

Tampa Bay games are fun!! Especially since the tickets are SO much cheaper than the Red Sox. We've seen the Red Sox there twice. This year we'd like to see the Bruins play the TB Lightning.
And DS12 wants to go to a Gators football game.

Looks like you had a great time. To bad for Jeff feeling sick- that's no fun on vacation :(

Hope he's better now.

You're right... the tickets were quite a bit cheaper. We bought tickets higher up though, because we were buying tickets for 7. It's fun visiting different stadiums.

Luckily Jeff wasn't on vacation... he was supposed to go back to work the next day - unfortunately he was out of work for a while after that.

OH NO, Poor Jeff. Hope he is doing much better now. :goodvibes

The BB day sounds like fun, thats how our boys are too, I'm almost used to the go for a bit to something new for a short period and leave. Sometimes it's hard though.

Joey said that is his kind of stadium. He did not like getting wet at our first baseball game.

Sounds like a fun day, can't wait to see your pictures from your waterproof camera.:goodvibes

Poor Jeff. That's totally a bummer. Hope he is completely back to normal now.

Your boys certainly love their baseball. Great pics of all the fun.

Denny and I tried TL in June and had a great time. I am hoping to try BB in October. We have been there before, but its been about 10 years. And trust me, in 10 years its gotten a lot harder to climb up all those stairs with a raft in hand. What a work out. :rotfl:

I am so not into baseball, but every picture I see with your boys enjoying the different parks, games, and teams makes me smile.

Glad Alex's foot was doing better and you went to Blizzard Beach.

Great pictures from the ballgame. Our oldest son's dream is to visit every major league park in the US before he passes. So far he has been to San Francisco Giants' stadium, Wrigley Field, of course, White Sox Park (YUCK!), Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, St. Louis Cardinals and Cincinnati Reds.
