Family, friends, teachers & Stacy too! - The End 9/27 page 14

That's right I remember reading that they live in FL right?

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

Yes - they live over on the gulf coast so we try to see them when we are down there.

OH NO, Poor Jeff. Hope he is doing much better now. :goodvibes

The BB day sounds like fun, thats how our boys are too, I'm almost used to the go for a bit to something new for a short period and leave. Sometimes it's hard though.

Joey said that is his kind of stadium. He did not like getting wet at our first baseball game.

Sounds like a fun day, can't wait to see your pictures from your waterproof camera.:goodvibes

Luckily Jeff had a speedy recovery after his surgery & is back to himself. :thumbsup2

We used to get frustrated when we'd go somewhere & the boys would be ready to go after a short time. Now we are used to it... another reason we love WDW!

Why did you get wet at the baseball game? Rain? We thought it was really strange to watch a game from inside a dome. We'd never been to a dome stadium.

Poor Jeff. That's totally a bummer. Hope he is completely back to normal now.

Your boys certainly love their baseball. Great pics of all the fun.

Denny and I tried TL in June and had a great time. I am hoping to try BB in October. We have been there before, but its been about 10 years. And trust me, in 10 years its gotten a lot harder to climb up all those stairs with a raft in hand. What a work out. :rotfl:

Jeff is all healed up now! Yes - we all love our baseball. Luckily I grew up with a lot of baseball in my life so if they had to favor a certain sport, baseball would be my preference. We pretty much live baseball every spring & summer. Zach is trying out for a year round baseball team this year.

Climbing those stairs with a raft is very difficult! Some rides have a conveyor for the rafts, I think that is a much better way to get them up. I'm sure it's safer too.

I am so not into baseball, but every picture I see with your boys enjoying the different parks, games, and teams makes me smile.

Glad we can bring a little baseball happiness into your life. :goodvibes

Glad Alex's foot was doing better and you went to Blizzard Beach.

Great pictures from the ballgame. Our oldest son's dream is to visit every major league park in the US before he passes. So far he has been to San Francisco Giants' stadium, Wrigley Field, of course, White Sox Park (YUCK!), Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, St. Louis Cardinals and Cincinnati Reds.

Thanks Kathy! Luckily Alex's foot healed up nicely. We wrapped it up pretty good too.

So far we've only been to Fenway (Red Sox), Yankee Stadium (Tim, Alex & I have been to both the old & the new stadiums - Alex was a baby when we last went to the old stadium) and Tropicana (Tampa). We'd like to try to hit as many parks as we can too. We are planning a trip to Disneyland and are trying to figure out how to get to a game or two while we are out there. The only problem is that our best option for the trip is February... before the season starts! :headache:

Before I post my next update, I thought I'd share the plans for my next two trips. :thumbsup2 In two months, I'll be back in the World with one of my very best friends, Nicole. We've been friends since elementary school and still get together regularly. When I've taken fall girls weekend trips in the past, she has commented that she wants to go with me sometime. This year it finally worked out and we will be celebrating our 40th birthdays at Disney in October. She actually turned 40 last year but was in school to become a Registered Nurse. Now that she has graduated and found a great job, we get to go celebrate! We'll be there from Thursday, October 17th - Sunday, October 20th. We are currently booked at Port Orleans - French Quarter at rack rate. When the general public discounts came out recently, I priced it out and we would only save $20 or $40 to move to Riverside so I kept our reservation at FQ. I'm hoping some better discounts come out for Annual Passholders soon... which may mean moving resorts. We also have two DVC waitlist requests pending (through the guy I rent points from) - Boardwalk (a long shot during Food & Wine) and Animal Kingdom Villas. I absolutely LOVE staying at BWV (especially during Food & Wine) and am hoping for some pixie dust! pixiedust:

Nicole is actually at Disney now with her family, her parents and her brother's family. Her parents own DVC (technically she & her brother are also owners but their parents haven't given them their points yet) so they are in a grand villa at Bay Lake right now. The pictures are unbelievable!! They will spend the second half of their vacation at Animal Kingdom Villas (Nicole's favorite... and the reason our second waitlist is at AKV).

Luckily Nicole bought an annual pass on her current trip. Since we both have APs, we can be flexible with our plans. Nicole likes to relax by the pool and take things a lot slower then me. It should make for an interesting trip! We'll be attending Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party while we are there too.

The other trip in the works is our next family trip in February. So far we have airfare booked and park tickets purchased (we all upgraded to APs last April so no new tickets to buy this time). We'll be flying down with Tim's mom on Wednesday 2/19, which is his mom's 70th birthday. Plans for Wed - Sun are up in the air as we plan to see Jeff & family to celebrate her birthday. On Sunday, DMIL will go back to Jeff's house to visit for another week & half while we head off for our week at Disney. We don't have our resort booked yet, but plan to stay offsite at Sheraton Vistana Resort (our 4th time). We may end up adding four nights and staying there the whole time. Jeff, Karen & K would come visit us there for a long weekend. The other option is that we stay in a hotel near Jeff's house for the first four days. DMIL would stay with them. They said they might be moving to bigger place, with enough room for us all, but we'll see...

Since it took forever for February park hours to be released, I'm still working out our itinerary. ADRs are coming up in about a week or so. The big one I want is Be Our Guest. We loved it when we were there last year!!

That's about it! I have my next update all typed up with pictures added so I'll get that posted later today.

We fly down Wednesday 2/19, but I'm not sure of our plans from 2/19 to Sunday 2/23. Sunday 2/23 - Sunday 3/2 we'll be at Disney for sure! When will you be there?

We always have the last week of February off, sometimes into March. We may be at Disney between 2/19-2/23 just not sure yet. It's possible we'll add four days at Vistana and just be there the whole time. Jeff & family can come stay with us for a long weekend. If we have any time there before they come to visit, we'll probably go to Disney for a day or two. We'll see... that part is still very much up in the air.

We were there in February 2011. Easter fell in late April that year so we went early. The weather is iffy. We had great weather in 2011 and were able to swim but sometimes it can be cold too.

Guess who else will be there in October ????????? What is more we also arrive on the 17th > Oh Darn I gave it away:rotfl2:We must meet up while you are there . This is one of my Free Trips so there will be 10 of us !!!:cool1:

A longtime friend has gone with me I think maybe four times now. She likes to sleep in on vacation, and of course I am more of a rope-dropper. I just tell her where I will be, and she catches the bus whenever she decides to. We go into the trip with the understanding that if one wants to resort hop or hit a park and the other wants to hang out by the pool or stay in the room and watch TV, then so be it. There are no expectations, so we each have the nice trip we want to have.

The other trip in the works is our next family trip in February.

That one will be especially exciting to me for completely selfish reasons.....

because it will mean only one more month until I get to go again!

Fun update even if you were only at BB for a short time. For me, water parks aren't a full day anyway but just a few hours can be frustrating. Not nearly so bad if it's part of your ticket already though.

Poor Jeff! The game looked fun but OW, the back situation doesn't sound like it.

Fun trips and resort options. Our WL came through for BW last Oct so it's definitely possible, I will keep my fingers crossed yours does too, you had good luck last year as well! Nice to go with someone who knows what they like and has been enough that you can probably both do a bit of your own thing, and a together thing. Are you going to dress up for the party?

Is that President's week? Hopefully the crowds won't be too awful, it always seems like they change those park hours anyway. I'm not even looking at Dec/Jan as I think they may still change and just hope all my ADR's still work.

Sounds like fun with some very nice family time in there!

What a great trip so far.

Can't wait to read all about your new trips as they come together and after they are complete:goodvibes

How exciting!! It would be fun to meet up but I'm not sure how many DIS meets I'm going to be doing on this trip. My friend might think I'm crazy!

As of now our plans have us at Epcot on Thursday 10/17, MNSSHP on Friday 10/18 (not sure of am plans), DHS & Epcot Saturday 10/19 and MK on Sunday 10/20. Do we overlap at all?

My lounge-by-the-pool friend was at Disney last week and totally drank the Kool-Aid! She even park hopped! But I think your approach could work well for us if she opts for too much down time. ;)

Yay for getting back to Disney again! Do you have anything planned before March?

Crossing my fingers for our waitlist to come through!! I doubt we'll get BWV but I think we might have a shot at AKV. 53 days to go...

We are trying to figure out some easy costumes. Mouseketeers are at the top of the list right now.

We'll be arriving a few days after Presidents Day but the Disney portion of our trip doesn't start until the week after. Crowds should drop way down at that point. If we end up at Disney early, we'll just have to deal with the crowds, knowing we'll get more done after everyone leaves. We're lucky, our school vacations are a week later than most.

What a great trip so far.

Can't wait to read all about your new trips as they come together and after they are complete:goodvibes

Thanks Jessica! This trip was a lot of fun & I'm excited to be planning two more!!

I know I'm a little worried about the weather. It really won't be a big deal to swim or not since we'll be back in April. I was there for a few days this year and it was warm. I wouldn't go swimming but my kids might lol.

We'll see what happens... February at Disney is always better than February at home. :thumbsup2

Sorry for getting sidetracked last Sunday... I had an updated all typed up & intended to get it posted but then...

Alex broke his wrist!! :headache: We ended up spending four hours in the ER instead of eating the nice dinner I was preparing while Tim had the boys at the elementary school to play soccer.

Alex went over the baseball field fence to get his soccer ball and landed on his hand. He's in a cast for at least four weeks. Luckily summer camp is over and we are in a break from swimming, but school starts tomorrow, he is right handed and so far hasn't been able to write very well.

Next update coming right up...

Poor Alex. Brian did that twice. Once falling off a toy he was standing on and the other time falling from a bicycle. At least the kids get to have a little fun by picking out different color casts. Hope is his mending ahead of scheduled.

Good luck to both boys in their upcoming school year.

I do hope you waitlist comes through for BWV. I know how much you love it there. I am supper excited that I now have 5 nights there. :rotfl2:

Your Feb trip planning sounds like a lot of fun, too. It's so nice when you have multiple trips on the horizon.

I can not even imagine staying in a grand villa at BLT. It must be simply amazing.

The DIS isn't exactly cooperating & isn't letting me format but I want to get this posted so it won't be pretty. I'll have to come back later & fix it up.

After our late night at the baseball game, we took some time to relax in the villa. I suspect we might have visited the pool or we just hung out. My first receipt of the day is from 12:24pm when we arrived at the International Gateway ticket window & added two days to Tim & Alex’s park hoppers.

We were bad and we parked at the Beach Club. We had a dinner ADR at Teppan Edo but since we had enjoyed our dinner at Via Napoli so much, we ended up adding a last minute lunch ADR. It was a double ADR day! Some pictures on our way to Italy:

Then we stumbled upon Sergio!

Alex got to join in the fun & throw a soccer ball:

Now it was Zach’s turn!

That stinks!! Hope it heals fast. I bet he's ok w/ not being able to write ;) I would be.

Is he starting m.s. this year??

Some shots of Italy from before & after our lunch:

Turns out it was Italy Liberation Day!

We got to sit closer to the ovens this time, pretty much right in the middle of the main room.

I think we ordered the same thing as the previous visit. I think Zach was pizzad out & didn’t really enjoy the meal. The rest of us enjoyed it. We finished up there around 1:30 and went off to find our usual desserts… Kaki Gori & a popsicle. But first, we stopped for a mission in Japan.

Snacks in hand, we headed toward Mexico for a second mission.
