Family, friends, teachers & Stacy too! - The End 9/27 page 14

After a couple missions, Tim took the boys on Test Track while I did a little shopping at the Festival Center.

I bought a tote bag with a big daisy on it (not Disney but a daisy). I’ve used it as a purse all summer. It holds everything I need plus has room to throw all of those summer extras in there. I also bought a festival pin and a Mickey head plant decoration (the kind that holds water in the top & keeps the plant from drying up) for my mom’s birthday.

When I met back up with the boys, Tim told me he broke his good sunglasses! The case was in the backpack (which I took with me so they wouldn’t have to take it on the ride). He put the glasses in his pocket & they shattered when he got into the car!

After Test Track & shopping, we decided to ride Ellen’s Energy Adventure.

Up next was a little shopping at MouseGear. We bought a new fleece throw, some new kitchen hand towels and a Mickey Vinylmation for Alex.

It was getting closer to dinner time so we headed back to Japan.

We got our usual dinners and enjoyed them very much! Teppan Edo is one of our very favorite Disney restaurants. We left there around 6pm and had to stop for another Kaki Gori! We headed toward Future World and took a ride with Nemo & Friends.

I think I must have taken these on our walk from Japan back to Future World:

I believe it was on our way to Future World that we bumped into Heidi (MRYPPNS) and her family in the Oz play area.

We chatted for a few minutes, but moved on as we’d be seeing them later.

Alex decided he wanted a Mickey Sandwich but the first place we stopped was closing up for the day. Fortunately we had better luck at our second stop. After satisfying Alex’s sweet tooth, we met up with MRYPPNS/Heidi (and family) & mousescrapper/Julie (and DH, Matt) for a ride on Soarin’!! It was a lot of fun to be back with my best Disney gal pals, see Heidi's family & to meet Matt. After the ride, we considered riding Living with the Land but it was already closed. We said good-bye to Heidi’s family and headed to Test Track with Julie & her DH. We'd be seeing them again the next day.

Test Track was fun... The boys had a blast, especially Alex, who talked Matt's ear off!

TT PP:

We said good-bye to Julie & Matt, stopped for some popcorn in Canada (bumping into someone else we knew from home) and headed out through the IG.

Up next: Day 10 - Red Minnie & a bunch of Perrys

Poor Alex. Brian did that twice. Once falling off a toy he was standing on and the other time falling from a bicycle. At least the kids get to have a little fun by picking out different color casts. Hope is his mending ahead of scheduled.

Good luck to both boys in their upcoming school year.

I do hope you waitlist comes through for BWV. I know how much you love it there. I am supper excited that I now have 5 nights there. :rotfl2:

Your Feb trip planning sounds like a lot of fun, too. It's so nice when you have multiple trips on the horizon.

I can not even imagine staying in a grand villa at BLT. It must be simply amazing.

Kids are funny with broken bones... he's acting like it isn't even broken (aside from not writing). I keep having to remind him that he has to take it easy for a couple weeks. The doctor doesn't want him bumping it too hard or falling on it again. He is able to play soccer though, which is great. It doesn't start for a couple weeks so as long as he wraps it, he can play! Unfortunately he's a goalie and that will be out for a while.

Crossing my fingers on that one of our waitlists comes through! I'm mixed on what I want... AKV is testing Magic Bands & BWV isn't...

That stinks!! Hope it heals fast. I bet he's ok w/ not being able to write ;) I would be.

Is he starting m.s. this year??

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

I'm sure he'll make it work with school... he loves extra attention from adults so any extra attention he gets for the arm will be good. ;)

He's in 7th, so second year of MS.

This trip feels like it was so long ago that I was reading along to see if it was me and my family that you were meeting that night. My you all ate a lot that day/night! We got a last minute adr for dinner at Via Napoli later that week. YUM. and the food's not bad either ;)

It was great that all 10 of us could ride Soarin' together for Liam and Danica's first time. And now we know we can ride it again without the extra adults to help.

Lovin' these spring time in Epcot pictures! Can't wait until next spring! I enjoy looking around in the Festival Center and dreaming of having a pretty garden with Disney things in it. (It will remain a dream. ;))

Our plans, as of now, for the next year or so are:
December - all family
March - girls only
Summer - no exact date yet - probably just Jill's family and me
October - girls only

Cute. :)

I'm not sure I'd do a double ADR day unless it's something like Via Napoli. A couple slices of pizza & it's pretty much like a QS meal... but better. :thumbsup2

I'm so glad it worked out for us to ride Soarin' with you!

Lots of fun trips on the horizon! I'm just missing Jill by a few days in October! Looks like we'll miss you in the spring too. We're missing the F&G Festival by a few days but I'm hoping we might get some sneak peeks by planning our last day at Epcot.

Love your pics! :)

Thank you!!

This trip report is taking so long… I’m going to try to zip through these last two days so I can wrap this up soon!

Today we spent the morning at Magic Kingdom. Our plan was to head to Tomorrowland to ride the speedway. The kids always ask to ride this but the line is always too long to deal with. This ride doesn’t scream Disney to me so I never want to spend the time waiting (especially with most of the line in the sun). I promised them we’d head there first one day to make sure they got a chance to ride it. On our way by the Astro Orbiter we noticed no line! This is another ride we have always skipped because of long lines. We decided to give it a try, hoping the speedway would still have a short line after AA.

Pictures from atop the Astro Orbiter.

After Astro Orbiter, we headed to the Speedway & only had to wait a short time to get into our vehicles.

After a zip around the speedway, we hit Space Mountain.

Once we finished up in Tomorrowland, we had a few things we wanted to do in Adventureland & Frontierland. We headed to Adventureland first and rode Pirates. Then on our way to Big Thunder & Splash, we saw that the building for A Pirate’s Adventure was open. They were in the testing phases so I wasn’t sure if we’d get to try it. I knew Zach would like this so we stopped & picked up a map.

I think Alex & Tim were there for part of it, but they definitely went off on their own to ride either Splash or Big Thunder while Zach & I did a few of the adventures. I believe they were testing three different maps and we did them all.

It looks like we stopped at Peco’s Bills to pick up a taco salad, then headed to Columbia Harbour House for everyone else to grab some lunch. Here’s my salad in the to go box:

Looks like Splash was next!

I always make Splash Mountain my last ride of the day at MK. I hate walking around soaking wet. On our way out I grabbed my last Dole Whip of the trip and we stopped in the Emporium to finally buy the red Minnie Mouse for my neighbor.

On our way out, we saw the Monster-rail.

We spent a little time at the resort relaxing before it was time to head back out to meet up with my Disney besties, Heidi & Julie, at DHS. We had planned this as our Perry night… The men & children were all going to wear Perry shirts. Danica (the only little girl) had a pink Perry shirt so the ladies worse pink shirts to coordinate. Unfortunately, I don’t think we got a group picture but you’ll notice the theme throughout this update. We had big plans for the night. We had heard that they were testing Fantasmic fastpasses and were hoping that we would all arrive at DHS in time to get enough for all of us. They had a little table set up near the turn onto Sunset Boulevard. They weren’t scanning tickets or anything so they weren’t tied to the regular FP system. Luckily we all arrived within a short time of each other and got FPs for everyone.

Our first stop after securing fastpasses was at Tower of Terror:

We were heading to dinner at Sci Fi at 5:30 (where Heidi & family were also eating).

Zach checking out the Star Wars kiosk while we waited outside of Sci Fi:

Dinner was good and we got to say hi to Heidi.

After dinner we had planned to meet up to ride Tower of Terror and Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster as a group. Julie’s DH, Matt, Heidi’s DH, John & Heidi’s daughter sat this one out. This was Heidi’s son, Liam’s, first time!

Then we headed to RnRC. Liam sat this one out with the guys & Danica.

Alex really liked Julie & Matt... and the fact that they didn't have kids with them to pull their attention away from him. ;)

After getting our thrill on, we headed into Fantasmic.
The FP seating wasn’t the best as it was all the way down at the far end (which made the exit very long & crowded). The show was great from the seats & it was nice to not have to get into the theater 45 minutes before the show. I think these are out of order but here are a few shots from the show. This was the first time my family had seen the show since 2006. I’d seen it once since then. It was fun to have the group to sit with while we waited for the show to start.

Up next... "I'm 10!"

Great update! If you judged how much Liam liked TOT by that picture you would think he hated it but later in the week when we were back at DHS he asked to ride it!

It's so fun meeting friends at disney. looks like you had a blast!

I rode Astro Orbiter i think for the first time in July. We rode it at 11:30 pm so i was a little nervous being so high. it was a great view though.

How long did it take to do the pirate adventure thing? My DS12 asked about it when we were there and i said we'd definitely try it next time after I found out how it works.

Really nice to see you were able to fit in an update. :) It has been really crazy around here to say the least. My DS12 is now playing M.S. football along with hockey. It really is insane!!!

Wow. I was behind and then you did two mega updates. Now I totally don't know what I want to say.

I love the F! pictures. Very fun. I guess your seats must have been somewhat decent to get those shots.

Your boys are really the thrill ride seekers. Glad they got to ride both RnR and ToT without a wait.

Dinner sounds like fun!

Love the pictures from the Ostro Orbiter. It's a fun view from up there, even with the buildings.

I still haven't been on the Speedway and now that I know the wait is in the sun -forget about it.

Love the pictures from Epcot with the bright blue skies.

Hope the boys are doing well and getting back into the swing of things with school. :thumbsup2

Amy, I am so sorry I lost this subscription. I went on my trip, then came home and tried to catch up, started my own TR and then finally found this today.

Sounds like a great day at Epcot and you got shopping in to boot.

And then the MK...such fun.

And I love all the pink and the Perry stuff on the TOT ride. Very cute of all of you to do that.

The red Minnie you picked up from your neighbor is adorable.

Hi Amy! Subbing in from FB - I might not keep up too well, but I'll enjoy it when I'm here!:goodvibes

I love that big white boat full of good guys!!! :dance3: I'm like a little kid when it comes around the bend - smiling so big! :)

Cute Tower of Terror pictures. That is one of my favorite rides, and seeing the reactions of others is part of the fun.

Glad you got some DIS time. :thumbsup2

Great update.

I just love the taco salad at Peco's. I have to have at least two of them while there.

So nice you got to meet up with your best Disney friends & ride all together!:goodvibes

Glad he liked it! It's been my boys' favorite ride on & off over the years.

Astro Orbiter must have been really cool at night!

The pirate adventures take about 10-15 mintues. One of the adventures had us going in & out of the Pirates dump shop and it was fairly congested in the area when we were doing it so that probably slowed us down a bit. They are pretty short adventures.

I understand being behind... I'm way behind on my subscriptions & this report is dragging on!

The speedway line is in the sun. They have a few umbrellas along the line so you can catch a little shade but I don't think they would offer much relief on a hot day. Maybe you can try it out if you are down there in the winter sometime.

I always love Disney pictures when there is a bright blue sky in the background!

No problem Kathy! I'm WAY behind everywhere! Thanks for stopping in!

Hi Amy! Subbing in from FB - I might not keep up too well, but I'll enjoy it when I'm here!:goodvibes

:welcome: Hopefully this is almost over... there are so many times that I plan to post an update & either the DIS or photobucket won't cooperate!

I love that big white boat full of good guys!!! :dance3: I'm like a little kid when it comes around the bend - smiling so big! :)

Hi MeMom! My DIS time has been so lacking lately! I'm hoping once I get this report done I can catch up on some subscriptions.

Fantasmic was a lot of fun!

Great pics! :)

Thank you!

Great update.

I just love the taco salad at Peco's. I have to have at least two of them while there.

I love that taco too! I'm not sure I'll be able to get one in October... we only have on MK visit planned & we'll be eating at Be Our Guest. I think it's worth the sacrifice. ;)

It was a lot of fun catching up with Heidi & Julie... more to come on that!

Hi everyone! Thanks for hanging in there with me! I hope to get the last of this report posted this morning. I was up before the kids so I took advantage of the time. It's been a busy week around here... Lots of sports going on & some birthdays too. Zach turned 10 on Monday (remember this for my next update) & then on Tuesday, I turned the big 4-0! Luckily I have a Disney trip in 20 days to help ease the pain. On with the last day...

Today was our last park day. We had a full day as we weren’t leaving until the next day but we were leaving early so we needed to get packed up today as well. Plans for today were to hit DHS for a few hours in the morning then meet up with Heidi’s family & Julie & Matt for a boat ride. Where we would get on the boat?? That’s a story in itself that I’ll save for later. We did a little packing when we got up before heading to DHS. I have a receipt for Dunkin Donuts at 9:47am. Our next receipt was for upgrading Tim & Alex’s park hopper to Annual Passes!!! After doing the math over & over, we decided to upgrade them before leaving so all of us would end up with APs to use on our February trip.

We had an early dinner ADR with the gang for later that day so we planned our lunch early too. We had an 11am ADR at 50s Prime Time. We must have had time for about one ride before we checked in for lunch, but I don’t know for sure as my next picture is from lunch. It might have been the Great Movie Ride.

After lunch we went to an animation class. Alex even wanted to participate!

The only other picture I have is from RnRC:

We left DHS with plenty of time to meet up with everyone at the Wilderness Lodge boat dock at 2:30pm… unfortunately, we were supposed to be meeting at the Fort Wilderness boat dock. Don’t ask me how I screwed this up so badly but I’m sure at some point the plan was to meet at Wilderness Lodge… I think?? After a stressful half hour trying to figure out where everyone was & jumping on a boat over to WL we caught up with everyone, took some potty breaks & boarded the boat. And what an amazing way to spend some relaxing time at Disney!!! To be honest, I wasn’t thrilled about spending our last Disney hours on the boat. It was the only time that worked for everyone and of course I wanted to do it, but I had wished it would have been more toward the middle of our trip. Turns out it was a great way to spend our last day. I plan to do it again on future trips!! Please enjoy this photo tour of Seven Seas Lagoon. (Some of these pictures are of the old Discovery Island & River Country areas.)
