Can you experts provide some restaurant suggestions that are in walking distance from the HH resort that are family friendly?

Family Friendly on HHI is easy -- walking distance from Disney is a little harder. You can walk over to Shelter Cove which has a number of very good restaurants. Scott's Fish Market, Kingfisher, Little Venice, San Miguel's Mexican Cafe are all good and upscale but you won't have any trouble taking your kids along.

Now -- if you can take a bike ride -- Guissepe's pizza and Fuddrucker's are just a few minutes away.

If you want to drive -- the there are many, many options then.

Within walking distance - shelter cove. We love San Miguel's mexican. It's nice sitting out on their patio listening to music.

If you want to drive there's a great little pizza place down near the entrance to Sea Pines. It's in the shopping center with Publix. I can't remember the exact name but we go here every year the night we arrive in HH.

We really liked Sticky Fingers on HHI. It was probably our family favorite! The ribs were SO good, and it had a great kids' menu. One of my sons doesn't like for the usual kids' side, fries, and was pleased to be able to order mandarin oranges instead. I would recommend going early, though... There was no wait when we got there a little after 5, but a long line by the time we left.

Ooops! Just read that you were looking for "within walking distance"... Sticky Fingers is a short drive, but worth it!

We ate at San Miguels and Scott's w/in walking distance...Both were good! The kids liked Sticky Fingers better, though.

I guess I thought that it would be hard to drive around and find parking on HH...but it sounds like driving is an option! We'll just drive...when we don't bike.

The pizza place is called Giuseppes--there are several on the island. Parking is not usually hard to find on the island unless you're going to Harbor Town at a peak time. Crazy Crab is very busy and casual, but not in walking distance. My kids like the Salty Dog Cafe at South Beach Marina in Harbor Town.

The only place it's hard to park is at Sea Pines. You have to park then ride the shuttle over there. Most of the other restaurants have plenty of parking. There's also a Wild Wings kindof near sea pines that is good. My niece and nephew love it.

the sea shack is a great place for families, and not expensive at all.

we don't recommend the hilton head diner, food was not all that great.

We second Pogo's recommendation of Sea Shack. Not much to look at, but it offers fresh seafood at very reasonable prices.

We enjoy the Salty Dog Cafe on the lower end of Sea Pines Plantation. You have to pay the road toll to get there, but it is a nice shopping area with unique shops. Nice views from the Cafe.

we ate at king fisher and it was pretty bad. We had bad service and we had to wait over 25 mins to bring our remaining dinners which including our 3 yr olds dinner which my husband walked back to the room and didn't eat his dinner because my child was in melt down. so choose wisely :)

Kingfisher was the only "no" place there at Shelter Cove Harbour (across bridge from resort.) Scotts, San Miguel both good. And in season, your kids would probably enjoy seeing Shannon Tanner's show there in the pavilion. His show is very family oriented and he involves kids.

If you want to drive, Crazy Crab (either at Sea Pines or right as you come onto the Island) are great family places. We like the one as you come on island because it has a lot of parking, an enormous aquarium, and a playground out back! It is right on the creek and we've seen dolphins swim there on several occasions.
