Hi everyone, i'm still relatively new to the site and wdw so please be patient if some of my questions seem a bit stupid.

My family and I have booked two weeks in sept. 2008 staying at the CBR, we have booked through virgin and the free dining is included. The family consits of my wife, son 9, daughter 3 and both in laws. to my questions

1. What are the best family friendly table service restaurants on property ( no seafood ) ?

2. What are the best family friendly restaurants off property ?

3. What are the best items to use your snack credits on ?

Again, I apologise if these questions seem a bit dull but i want to put a bit of thought into dining on this trip as our dining experiences on our last two trips were very hit and miss.

For a nice friendly, family restaurant i would suggest The Whispering Canyon at WL.
Your snack credits can be used on anything to the value of $4.
If you are near a Golden Coral i would give them a try, it is an all you can eat buffet.

Can only comment on off property but we've dined as a family group from the UK with age ranges 1 - 80!! and absolutely loved:

Bahama Breeze (2 locations - 1 on International Drive - other at Lake Buena Vista?)

Cafe Tu Tu Tango (International Drive) Outstandingly Tasty in a great kid friendly atmosphere with resident artists entertaining the kids!

Chilli's (Various Locations) - cheap and cheerfull - good atmosphere.

Salt Island Chop House - pretentious but great fun - like walking into a Butchers/Fishmongers and choosing your cut and telling them how to cook it!

Enjoy - we're back in 2008 and cant wait!! Missing Taco Bell already!

Texas Roadhouse- brand new place opened last month, fantastic.

most resturants are great for the family, I would recomend Ohana at the Polynesian resort or Liberty tree Tavern at Magic Kingdom.

if you're getting free dining, i'm not sure that you'll need any off property recommendations....the free dining is so much food, i can't imagine that you'd need more food than that......we've never taken the dining plan (not the free dining, but the one for money) because it's so much food, we just don't eat that much....

I agree we had free dining this year and we came back with 16 CS credits, we just could not use them all!

i agree with Beth, offsite is not a good idea, we came back last week from free dining and literally spent nothing on food !!

i would reccomend looking at some character meals its a great way to meet them without the Q's

yes, maybe you're right...

so let's see.....on property dining that's not in the parks....
there are so many nice places....

Chef Mickeys is very nice for character meals - we especially like the dinner there...

for a 9 year old and 3 year old - i agree that the Whispering Canyon Cafe at the Wilderness Lodge can be fun...

in the parks, we always enjoy the 50's prime time cafe at MGM..
and for a nice in-park character meal, we enjoy the Chrystal palace at the magic Kingdom..

we don't particularly like the food at the Sci fi at MGM, but usually kids think it's fun to eat at once...

we ate at lots of the resorts...its a great way to get to see where you might like to stay

we also had a fab meal at spoodles on the boardwalk

i might be wrong, but i think that you have to call to the states to book ADRs..

i'm sure if i'm wrong, someone will correct me...
i've always called to the states....to the disney dining number..

Had free dining 2 yrs ago and have booked POR for free dining next August, you won't need to eat offsite but we had some lovely (free!) meals at some of the resort hotels. Our favourites with 3 children aged 7, 12 and 16 were:
Crystal Palace - breakfast
Ohana, fab dinner and lovely breakfast, loved Lilo and stich
Cinderellas Royal Table lunch - well worth using 2 credits
Boma - Animal Kingdom Lodge
Whispering canyon cafe - Wilderness Lodge dinner
1900 Park Fayre - Grand Floridian dinner
Chef Mickey - breakfast
Tried Le Cellier but not our favourite! Trying new ones next year but will still repeat some of our old favourites, definitely Ohana!

We were on DDP in August and made really good use of it. Onsite meals are enormous, but we did eat offsite Daryls & Bennigans (- Int'l Drive) Hard Rock Cafe (Universal Studios). As for the snack tokens - I work in a school so I used some to purchase Mickey Mouse lollipops for my class and DS did a similar thing too for his class mates. I believe the basic rule for a snack token is goods to the value of $4, so we tended to buy cheaper items like bottles of water etc.. and save vouchers for the more expensive items. If booking character meals you may need 2 Table Service Vouchers, so be prepared to pay for some meals.
