What a thrill to get online today and see so many wonderful people checking on my progress and giving me kudos and encouragement. This has truly been the most fun I've had on a diet all because of YOU! Thank you so much all of you!

I am eligible for a new clippie today! I have officially lost 5 lbs on my first week on SBD. This is the longest I've EVER gone not caving on a diet or healthy eating plan. By now I would be usually through a nice pint of Ben and Jerry's New York Super Fudge Chunk and saying "I'll start again on Monday" Well, it's already Monday and I feel terrific. I wish I had kept up with my journal this weekend to know what I had to eat although it was all SBD. I've found it slightly difficult to really eat at proper times and will try this week to schedule meals and snacks better.

I went out and got a new haircut today, too. It is amazing what a little bit of weight loss can do for your whole outlook. Definate spring in step. I am sooooo looking forward to this vacation and my new slender and healthy self!::yes::

Hi E! I just had to come over and read your journal after you had such nice things to say on mine. You're doing a great job! Congratulations on your cheat free clippie, very nice.

I can understand how this trip is motivating you. That's one of the reasons I started this journey, but not the only one. The main reason, of course, is better health. But I imagined myself schlepping through the theme parks sweating up a storm, all out of breath and not being able to keep up with my kids. This is also our first trip to WDW. I want to enjoy it and feel good about myself.

I have to commend you on your willpower when your mom brought over all of those goodies. I was drooling just reading about it. I actually had to go get a squirt of whipped cream to satisfy my sweet tooth after that!:teeth: Seriously though, you should be very proud of yourself for not giving in to temptation.

Hello! The cookbook I have is called 500 low carb recipes by Dana Carpender and it is amazing! She also has a book called 15 minute low carb dinners or something like that, my friend told me it is also really good - so I have to set some money aside to get it.

Good Evening Everyone,

Little but wonderful victories today. I put on a pair of size 10 pants that were VERY tight two weeks ago and today they went on nicely. Got tighter as the day went on...lol My skin looks really nice this week. I am sure it is from the water and protein, even my ds (7) said I look pretty today. Gotta love that!

Well, I am five days from phase 2. OOOHHH, can't wait to have some cantalope. I thought for sure I would wan't bread but nope, cantalope and strawberries with that ff whipped topping is on my mind! YUM!

I want to take it very slow though. Pretty scared the five pounds I worked so hard to lose last week will just come back on.:(

I am going to plan out my meals a few days ahead of time. That way I won't be caught off guard.

This is what I had today...

B-coffee with ff 1/2 1/2, 7 almonds, cottage cheese
S- V-8 juice with calcium
L-ham, cheese roll-up
S-Cheese stick and green tea sweetened with a bit of Splenda, 7 almonds
D-a scramble of eggs, mushrooms, peppers, onions and parm. cheese. Yummy!

Lots and lots of water today. Focusing on getting my water in. I might try the Crystal Light some people have mentioned but I remember when it first came out and I had horrible headaches from it. That was years and years ago so maybe it's different now.

I never did my Pilates today, I really meant to. Will try to go to bed early tonight so I can get up tomorrow and do them. I need to tone just as much as I need to lose weight. I used to love the curve in my arms now I just jiggle merrily when I walk. I also can't wait to be rid of that special roll of skin (fat) on my back around my bra line that appeared after having children. Now, the first time I turn in the mirror and don't see that fold of skin I will scream with delight!:hyper: That was kind of graphic wasn't it...sorry!

Amanda-I'm going to look up those cookbooks. I find the recipes in the SBD book sound wonderful but I just don't have the time for them. Perhaps the 15 min recipe book you suggested would be perfect for me!

ZerasPride-I am pleased to tell you...I put away my scale and will ONLY get on it once a week on Fridays. It was making be obsessed, kind of like poor Golum in Lord of the Rings...lol.

The crystal light mixes contain Nutrasweet. Many people have headaches when consuming Nutrisweet. The bottled Crystal light is made with splenda. DH love it. It is too sweet for me. I would rather have 1 Diet Rite a day. Give it a try. You can get cases of the Crystal Light at Costco.

that is really exciting that you are nearing phase 2. reintroducing some good foods will be a lot of fun! i wouldn't worry about the pounds coming back on, but i remember reading in other people's journals that the weight loss may slow down. so don't be discouraged by that!

and i'm cracking up here over denise's response about your *PRECIOUS* :laughing: . man oh man, but yes, good idea to put it away and only weigh once a week :)
 
E, I am so happy for you that you got your first WISH clippie! Congrats on the 5 pound loss. That is just excellent. I'm also happy to hear you've put the scale away. It can just drive you batty to keep weighing everyday and seeing the gains and losses that naturally occur.

I know you will absolutely love Phase 2. There are so many delicious foods you can add back to your diet. Fruit is a big one. I also love having an occasional slice of whole grain wheat bread - and grilled cheese has never tasted so good! You might want to check out lowcarbfriends.com recipe site. They have tons of recipe that only need a little tweaking here and there to make them more SBD friendly. Most can be made pretty quick too.

I laughed so hard over you calling my scale PRECIOUS! I actually was kidding with my husband and doing Golums voice when I would step on it. "What is my "precious" going to tell me today." I always sound more like Yoda though...

I checked out the website you suggested, it is wonderful! Thanks so much for sending me that way. I totally understand what you said about how foods taste now. When you are really conscious of what your putting into you, things taste so much better. Hard to explain but it is more of a "real" experience instead of quick gratification.

I remember reading it to. So I put it into perspective. I have about 11 weeks before we go. Even if I lose only 11 more lbs I will be at a fine weight although I will still have some work to do when I get back!


Thanks for all your encouragement over phase 2. This diet or way of eating is so very different from anything I've done before. Getting into the mindset that this is going to be the way I will be eating from now on is very interesting. I've always just done the quick crash diet, lost it then waited for it to slowly come back on then crash diet again. Not healthy but was "comfortable" in that it has so far been a way of life for me for the past 20 or so years...now that's scary. (sometimes it shocks me that I am actually 34!)

When I first started this it was ALL about the weight. I was losing it so I could eat Carte Blanche at Disney. Now I am focusing more on health and long term well-being.::yes::

Thanks again all of you! Your support and most of all your sense of humor has made this an extremely pleasant experience for me.:teeth:

This is what I had yesterday...

S-was on the road and I didn't plan ahead
D-toppings off of three slices of veggie pizza.
S-sugar free jello

I didn't eat enough yesterday. Just wasn't hungry though. Could this cause the scale to be at a standstill? I am averaging several pints of water a day. Perhaps I need more. I am also very, very tired this week. Could be because I am fighting ANOTHER cold or it could be because it is vacation week and the children have had sleepovers which ALWAYS throws me off.

I am going to concentrate on eating regularly as well as getting my water in and exercise.:Pinkbounc

Some super, great news unrelated to weight loss! My fabulous travel agent, Josephine from Our Laughing Place Travel got us Cinderella's Breakfast...YIPPEE!!! It made mine and my daughter's day...princess:

Not eating enough can cause a plateau, but I wouldn't let one day bother you (or even a few for that matter). Just get back on track--you might find that energy you've been looking for, too! :Pinkbounc You have been doing so well and I am so happy you have made the decision to be healthy, be happy, and look great! E. - Not eating enough will cause your metabolism to slow down. Then you will stall even longer until you can get it going again. Try to get more calories in, even if your not hungry - I know, I know, easier said than done!:rolleyes:
That is GREAT about the Cinderella breakfast. Not only is it wonderful to see the princesses, the food is very good! You'll love it!princess:

woo hoo! CRT, i always read on the restaurant board that it's so hard to get those ps's! i remember going when i was a little girl for dinner once. i think this was before ps's were crazy. we probably booked it that morning, or just went and waited. the one thing i remember from it was a soup that had barley in it. i really liked it. weird, eh? don't even remember cinderella :p

but i agree with everybody else about eating enough food. one day shouldn't make a difference, but just make sure that you eat enough the other days. but then again, if you're feeling sick and that's what's making you eat less, i wouldn't sweat that. gotta listen to that body, especially when fighting illness ::yes::

Well! I put the scale away days ago thinking Fridays would be a good weigh in day. Couldn't believe it when I stepped on the scale and it said the same it did last week. I have been eating only what the book says to so why isn't it coming off!!!!! I could have cried.:confused: I need to evaluate what I am doing to see if there is something I'm missing like cutting out caffiene altogether and making sure I eat all I'm supposed to when I'm supposed to and water, water, water! I officially end phase 1 on Monday. I am trying really hard not to be discouraged because I know it is coming off just soooo slowly. I was really banking on the "lose 8-14 your first two weeks" that got me going on this journey in the first place. Add that to the fact I have another nasty cold and NO energy, I'm feeling pretty rotton emotionally and physically today. :mad:

UUGGHHH! O.K. That's out of the way. I'm done feeling sorry for myself...LOL I'm just going to keep plugging away and see what happens. I LIKE not having cravings. I LOVE not counting points and feeling like I'm starving.

This is what I had yesterday:

B-two eggs in olive oil spray with three slices canadian bacon, coffee with ff 1/2 1/2, V-8
S- skipped
L-Veggies with hummus
S-skipped
D-terriaki chicken with spicy green beans

Should have had more water but averaged about 4 pints

So that's it for now...

E. I'm sending emergency :hug: s your way!! You are not doing anything wrong - honest!! If you're sick with a cold, your body tends to retain fluids and I'm betting that's the problem with your scale. Please hang in there - you've been doing a fabulous job and it WILL pay off!
