FamFab5 is Counting Down to May Land and Sea and Her SZ 8's!!!

Elizabeth, I'm sorry I'm late to the party, but I finally made it here!

:jumping1: :jumping3: A 15 POUND CLIPPIE!!!!! :jumping3: :jumping1:

Congratulations!! I bet you're lookin' good and feelin' GREAT! Your Easter dinner sounds like it would have been yummy - hope all went well and that you enjoyed the good food and good company!

Hope you're having a fabulous Tuesday!! :sunny:

O.K. I'll confess...I overdid it on Easter!!! I have not cheated since starting on February 10th but I could not resist the chocolate eggs...I was doing sooooo well until about 10 a.m. and that darn basket was calling me! "Elizabeth, you know I'm here...yummy chocolate eggs and malted milk balls and jelly beans..." I caved!!! Then I rationalized it by telling myself this was just a little test to see what would happen if I ate treats on vacation which is in a month. So at dinner, I ate all the things I had intended NOT to eat! (rice salad, homemade bread, wine) I enjoyed every blessed bite too at the time. By 5:00 p.m. I couldn't keep my eyes open and fell asleep on the couch. Haven't done that in ages and I know it was from my blood sugar crashing!

So today I am up six lbs from what I was on Saturday and I feel YUCKY! Tired, cranky, foggy and just plain mad at myself. I was sooooo close to where I wanted to be!

Well, I got myself into this and I'll fix it too! I am determined to be under 140 when we leave. I have made myself an exercise chart and I will be logging at least 30 minutes a day of Pilates with three 55 minute sessions a week. I also intend to start jogging again this week when it stops raining.

So, that is the whole sordid tale! Wish me luck on getting myself back together! and I STILL have NINE lbs to lose before May 15th:earseek:

Elizabeth:sunny:

 Elizabeth,

I have come to believe that God has made holidays to tempt us. He wants to see just how much willpower we have. My suggestion is to drink water until you are:boat: . Team that with your exercise plan, and you will make your goal.

Good luck,
Beth

My Journal was at the very bottom of the page, can't have that...LOL:daisy:

Well, I am at 144 and I have been here quite a while. My body likes this weight. It is comfortable here. It puts me into a solid size 8 which is fine BUT...

I really want to be 139 before I leave for vacation in 16 days!::yes:: It is important for me to make my original goal when I started this journal. I am going to eat "really clean" for the next two weeks. No SF chocolate I sometimes sneak in and no nuts till we leave either (I tend to overdo it on nuts-Love em') Oh, and I am going to focus on getting All of my water in, like I should:boat:

I am getting all my stuff done for the vacation which is soooo fun. Packing and making lists like crazy. The MOST fun was going shopping for some new clothes for myself. I truly enjoyed trying on clothes again and not coming out of the dressing room in tears (like when I realized I was a size 14) but really liking what I saw!!!!!!:goodvibes

My DH has lost a good 15 lbs by proxy which makes him happy as well although he won't admit to doing any WOE. Last night he made dinner and he stuck right to the plan...sauteed chicken and peppers.

I wrote on another post that this WOE-WOL has changed my life and I REALLY believe that with all my heart. It is a wonderful feeling to be taking care of myself as well as my family. To have power over food and my health which I never felt I had.

That's all for now!

E.

Hi there,

You are doing a great job. Your plan is in place, and with all the prep involved with the vacation, you'll be doing lots of running.:p I love the power I hear in your post about having power over food. WTG!
:sunny:
Beth

I weighed in at 142 this morning! I have been fluctuating between 142 and 144 for awhile now, my body likes this weight! I am soooo close to my goal of 139! With only 7 days left, I am not sure if it will happen. I want it so much though! I am going to exercise like crazy this week along with my long to-do list! I am hoping for a WHOOSH! Lots of water should help too...

WISH ME LUCK!!!!:bounce:

E.:sunny:

Elizabeth, how are you doing?? You know, you're a success whether the scale is showing 139 or not, right?? You've changed your relationship with food and that will help you for a lifetime. Besides, with all that walking at Disney, you'll probably come back even thinner! ::yes::

I wish you a safe and magical vacation, filled with pixie dust and wonder!!

 and :sunny:

Doreen,

Thank you for checking on me! I am well and only 1lb from my goal!!!! I am really excited about our vacation and my new found health...I haven't felt so good in years!::yes::

I am preparing myself for if I do not lose that last lb. It won't ruin my vacation...LOL I have also decided to stick with this WOE while on vacation. I've worked too hard to go wild and undo all of it BUT I also won't feel bad about having one or two treats. (I am still planning on having a few bites of Kitchen Sink with my family and the pineapple at 'Ohana) I know my body responds well to this WOE and this will be my life long WOE.

I am going to post my final journal entry on Sat. before we leave...princess:

Have a wonderful day,

Elizabeth:sunny:

Hi Elizabeth!

I was reading the other board yesterday and printed out your post about staying OP on vacation. You are such an inspiration to me! I know you can do it. Don't let other people dictate how you eat. They are not the ones that will have to carry around the extra weight and possible guilt. :)

I know you will have a wonderful trip. If you can take some notes on where and what you eat and post them when you get back that would be helpful, but no pressure if you don't have time to get around to it. You are on vacation after all!

I leave in about 3 weeks and have all my meals planned out. I intend to stay OP but will take a bag of almonds and a bag of sugar free peanut butter cups with me for treats/snacks as needed. Anyway, I would love to hear about your dining and touring experiences upon your return.

I bet you are looking great - whether you lose that last pound or not. You have been an inspiration to me with your progress and positive attitude!

Have fun! :hyper: :sunny:

I did it!!!!!!! I made GOAL!!!!:jumping1: Stepped on the scale to 138!! I haven't been that in a decade!

We leave tomorrow and I was sooooo hoping to make goal before we left. I can't wait to go on vacation and wear my bathing suit without FEAR!! :cloud9:

I think more importantly, I've learned so much about my body and myself! I feel so strong and capable! My body responded to this WOE better than I ever thought possible. I've done quite a bit of experimenting over these last few months...less fat, more fat, less dairy, more dairy, no nuts, daily nuts, etc. I have learned what works with my body and what doesn't. What makes my body feel yucky and what makes me feel healthy. The key to all of this is... I've learned to take care of myself AS WELL as I take care of my family!

My next goal after vacation is to run my first 5k this fall with a friend who ran her first 5k last year. It will be a celebration of what I have accomplished!

ZerasPride-Your words were wonderful! Thank you! I will post how my vacation went when I return as well as where I ate and what I ate...it will keep me honest! ;) Our family has planned to eat breakfast in the room so I have packed this great organic instant oatmeal (so much better with less sugar and preservatives than the Quaker variety) along with some Atkins breakfast bars. (I don't normally eat these but I think it will be fine on vacation given the alternatives) I will also be bringing peanut butter and fresh apples. I feel this will start our day off on a healthy note. I too, have already planned where we will eat so I know what I can and cannot have from the menu. This is going to be soooo much fun!!!

Have a great day,

Elizabeth:sunny:

Congratulations! I know that I haven't been to your journal in a REALLY long time but I am very very happy for you! How long did it take you to lose your weight? Tell us your success story!

~Amanda

Well, it is six months after our vacation and I have managed to gain 15 lbs!!

Sooooo, here we go again...I am starting back on the Beach tomorrow. Ugggh, my pants are soooo tight but I refuse to buy larger pants because I know I can do it again if I put my mind to it and stop eating sugar and bread!!::yes::

I found after vacation I would cheat here and there and not really gain then the cold weather came around and I started baking. I think it is called carb creep but all of a sudden I am nearly back where I started. I hope I have caught myself in time!!:earseek:

I just put a deposit on my anniversary cruise on the Wonder in May 2006 so even though it is quite a ways off, it will still motivate me!

That is it for now!!

E.:sunny:

Darn, have to change my clippie and roll it back from 20 to 5...

Welcome Back Elizabeth!

Of course you are back in time. You did really well with SB last time, so it will be the same this time. Keep us posted, and Good Luck today,
Beth

Well, it is nearly two years later and I am 10 lbs heavier than when I started the first time. Actually, I am right now ten lbs heavier but I have lost 15 lbs in the last two months and several inches!! :cheer2:

A few weeks ago I received an email regarding the Dine Free Promotion and the children and I convinced my DH that it is too great a deal to pass up! We had already planned a Land/Sea Cruise for next year so this is a splurge-spur-of-the-moment trip. This is just the motivation I need to get me really excited to lose the weight again! :thumbsup2

The thing is, it didn't happen overnight, the weight crept back on. I've noticed a huge difference in my metabolism since I turned 35 as well. Doing low carb last time the weight just fell off, this time I am fighting for every blasted ounce. :sad2: I purchased a treadmill this Spring which I find is helping me more psychologically right now rather than seeing the scale move. I feel better though and I am sure the results will follow.

I am going to start this journal again with a goal of 25 to lose before our trip in August. It is doable but will take loads of willpower on my part. (something I seriously lack)

We are really, really excited to be going to Disney again! I am going to try and get my DH to join me in a fitness and eating plan so I will journal both our experiences here.

Here are my stats...

Weight-169
Height-5' 7''
BMI- 26.5
Age-36
Married 15 years with three children 11,9,4 princess: pirate: pirate:

Have a great day,

E. :sunny:

Down one lb today. I feel fine as well. The only time I get really hungry is late at night. I purchased some Splenda sweetened ice tea which helps me take the edge off when I get those late night hunger pangs. Other than that, I haven't been hungry at all.

E. :sunny:

Down another lb! Yippee!! 167 this morning! I want to fit into my size eights by vacation!! I also will be concentrating on exercising to tone. :yay: So, there are my goals. It is finally sunny and warm here, things are greening up which actually makes me feel like getting out and moving around. :sunny: Yeah for Spring!!

E.

I hit 166 today! Woke up with my back out this morning. I can go months without a twinge then all of a sudden it will just go out! It hurts like heck and the Advil isn't touching it, I was going to get on that blasted treadmill today, too. Wouldn't you know it! Feeling a little stressed out with all that needs to be done the next week. A lot going on which always makes me cave to sugary foods and comfort carbs. Four months to vacation is not alot of time to get these 20 lbs off so I HAVE to stay strong!! :thumbsup2

I'm just catching up on journals - sounds like you are back on track and will make it by vacation!! Hope you have a good weekend!

I am new to WISH and just browsing journals.

Your pounds are flying off! Are you doing South Beach again? Whatever you're doing it seems to be working! :cheer2: Good for you for coming back to WISH.

Hi goldcupmom and CACruisin', thanks for checking out my journal! :wave2:

Yes, I am doing South Beach again but with calorie counting as well. The first time I did this I didn't need to count calories but I really think my metabolism has changed the past few years and this time it just wasn't coming off with out watching my calorie count. I am also staying away from my beloved nuts!! :sad2: They were really causing me to stall.

This week is going to be uber busy and stressful so my goal this week is just to keep strong and make good choices!

Have a great day,

E. :sunny:
