FamFab5 is Counting Down to May Land and Sea and Her SZ 8's!!!

Hi,

I am supposed to be doing other things right now but it's been awhile since I checked in with my journal. I am down to 151 which is 1 more lb. to a new clippie...YIPPEE! I have gone back to regular SBD eating so it may be awhile. The fat fast really did work for me but after a few days I wasn't feeling well whether it was the high fat, extreme ketosis or WAY too many cheese and mac. nut combinations. I don't see myself doing it again for awhile...felt actually quite guilty about it because I don't believe it is entirely healthy but jeesh, I wanted that scale to MOVE and it did...I will give myself a few weeks on South Beach and see if things are happening again.

I had my first real splurge today in almost four weeks. I went to Subway and had a chicken salad wrap. They said the chicken salad was made with mayo and no sugar added so I am guessing it was alright...with lots of veggies...OH WOW, it was soooooo good. I am at the point right now that just looking at cheese, eggs or nuts makes me want to "hurl" UGGHH!

Amanda,
Here is the link to the information about the fat fast...proceed with caution...lol There is also the modified version I found on Lowcarbfriends.com It allows you many more options for food. Let me know if you are interested in that as well.

http://atkins.com/Archive/2001/12/21-237659.html

Found this other great website...calorieking.com that will give you the run down on carbs from all the fast food places.

Doe,
I am starting to get really excited for this trip! My children are going to absolutely freak out when they see the giant sundae! When is the best time to go? I heard it can get really crowded at certain times. I figure we will go on a day we are at EPCOT so we can scoot over through the gateway. Does this sound like a good plan?

Marcia,
I really love Fitday! It has really helped me this week to see what my ratios are. Plus, I am very visual so seeing my weight loss on the graph is really neat...lots of charts for this Type A personality.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week! I hope to check back in sometime tomorrow if I can...

Onward and Downward::yes::

hey elizabeth, congrats on the 1 pound gone! :bounce: and the new clippie!!! those are always fun :Pinkbounc

i just went and read that article about the fat fast. wow. how the heck did you survive that girl? 5 meals of 200 calories each? and it looked like all cheese and mac nuts, just like you said! glad it worked for you though.

hope your return to regular sbd keeps you moving in the right direction! have a great day :sunny:

Hi Elizabeth,

I'm glad you liked the recipe. I'll post the chocolate one next time I'm online. Congratulations on the lost weight. You are doing a great job. i'm not sure I could do the fat fast. Wow! You will love the sundaes. You are right to go on an Epcot day. It can be really busy at peak times.
Have a great day.
Beth

Wow, Elizabeth! Congrats on the lost pound; I could not have done that fast. I hope your return to SBD proves to be successful as well. Take care and keep up the great job! :sunny:

Elizabeth, Beaches & Cream is such a small restaurant and can get very crowded! There is an arcade next door to keep the kids occupied if you have to wait. :D If you get there around 11 AM when they first open, it isn't bad. Also if you get there between 3 and 4 PM (after lunch and before dinner) you can get in pretty quickly.

The KISS challenge sounds more reasonable than the fat fast to me. You concentrate on eating basic meats and veggies. Is that what you found at lowcarbfriends?

Your chicken salad wrap at Subway sounds yummy!! I might have to try that! I've been eating their standard low-carb wraps a lot lately and I think it might be time for a change. :D

Hey Girl thanks for the link! It isn't for me but for another poster - I"ve been doing pretty good with just keeping my carbs low but I'll keep the information should I hit a plateau.

Beaches and Creams is a tiny resturant but very very cute! We were there one day about 3:30 and there were not many people there at all. I would suggest eating a late lunch/early dinner and then ordering the Kitchen Sink!! :)

Hi Elizabeth!

I just wanted to stop by and see how you are doing. Congrats on surviving the fat fast and the 1 pound loss.

I haven't hit any plateau's yet but I'll keep the fat fast in mind. Keep up the great work!!! :)

I couldn't believe it when I stepped on the scale this morning and was officially in the 140's! (149) I am soooo thrilled!
I haven't weighed this since my first pregnancy. I have to go back and look at my pregnancy journal but I think I hit the 140's when I was 6 months along with my first child. I realistically do not expect to EVER weigh what I did BEFORE becoming pregnant with my first...LOL

I must have had that whoosh everyone has talked about. So that puts me at a new clippie! This has been such an interesting journey. Maybe some of you can relate but it has been so gradual that it hasn't really hit me that I have really lost this weight. Before when I would "diet" it would be a crash diet so there was a certain amount of suffering involved (hunger, deprivation) this time I haven't felt like I was really dieting (except the fat fast:rolleyes: ) I just feel great!

I wish I could get to this journal more often but things are soooo nutty here with the benefit and Sleeping Beauty is next weekend. This next week will be my most challenging thus far. I will be on the road for virtually the entire week and getting home very late at night. I am going to have to sit and really plan what I will eat-where and when.

Ten lbs to go to my goal for vacation! Already starting to obsess about what will happen on vacation for food. What if I go CRAZY? Will I have the discipline to continue the WOE after vacation? How much am I going to gain if I eat treats on vacation? Will I get very sick if I eat sugar and "bad" carbs? Well, I have some time to think about it. You know, I haven't even craved that stuff so I may just find I don't want it when I'm there.

I'm off to get my new clippie!!

Have a wonderful day,

Elizabeth:sunny:

I went back and counted how many days I've been on this WOE and was shocked and really pleased at how long I've gone without cheating. I HAD to add the cute cheat free clippie!!

E.:sunny:

hey elizabeth, congrats on *both* new clippies!!! :bounce: you're doing such a great job, you deserve them ::yes::

as for vacation and your woe, well, it's got to be a personal decision. i think it would be fine to just go and make good choices, but allow yourself to enjoy yourself. don't feel deprived. and then, once you get back, you may have gained some weight, but you can jump right back into your plan. whatever works for you. either way, just make sur eyou have a great time and don't regret anything :)

hope your busy week goes well, don't worry about not being able to check in, just do it when you can :)

:jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1:
Congratulations! Those clippies look great on you! I'm so proud of you. I know this week will be hard, just take it one day at a time. That is my advice for vacation. Go into it with the intentions of making good choices, and you will. This is a long term thing, so a slip up on vacation will be dealt with when you return. I know you will be OP when you get back.
:wizard: for the coming week.

:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc NEW CLIPPIES!!! YAY!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Elizabeth, your new clippies are both looking FABULOUS!! You've been working so hard and it's all paying off!! You're developing healthy eating habits that will last you a lifetime. You may stray a bit during vacation but when you come home, I bet you'll fall right back into those good habits you've been working on, without even thinking much about it.

Here's some extra :wizard: pixie dust to help you get through the busy week! Try to enjoy all the activity and busyness - you are accomplishing great things!! :sunny:

Congratulations Elizabeth!!! The new clippees look fabulous!
I hope your week goes well. It really does seem like everything falls together on these calendars, huh? i am in my lull before T-Ball and Soccer season begins. Once that is going in April plus DD's dance schedule...... So just take it one day at a time and it will all fall in place. Take the extra couple of minutes to plan your food so you make better decisions. You are well worth those few minutes a day!!::yes::
Congratulations again!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc keep up the good work!

:jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1: I love clippie parties!

You are doing fabulous my friend! Congrats on the new clippies and on all your success. Don't worry about vacation - it is vacation and pointless to worry about it - you need to ENJOY it! If you decide to try and stick to plan then do it. If you decide to take a week off from plan and enjoy all the yummy things that WDW can offer then do that. Either way I know you will be back on plan when you return!

~Amanda

Elizabeth,

Congratulations on your new clippies! They look great on you. Keep up the good work!!! :)

Elizabeth--that new clippie looks great on you! Great job! Also, you little bear is adorable too--keep him counting! I hope you are having a great week!

:cool1: Way to go!!!! Do a little dance!!!! :cool1:

Hi!

Well, it has been a crazy couple of weeks but things have finally slowed down. The Spring ballet is over as well as the benefit. I have a little breathing room for the next three weeks. YIPPEE! I have been doing well on South Beach. Although, I've found I needed to tweak it a bit for myself. I was just not losing weight until I upped my fat intake. Of course, the fats are only good fats and nothing trans or artificial. I have not used any of the processed low carb things now flooding the market with two exceptions...I love Ruby Tuesday's cheesecake and have bought two of them for special occasions and I will buy another for Easter dessert. I also every once in awhile will buy the Russell Stover sugar free pecan turtles. They are wonderful and do not seem to bother me or cause me to stall.

I have learned that I am a VERY slow loser though and need to keep it in perspective by not freaking out over the scale.

All told though, I have lost 12 lbs since starting on Feb 19th. I am really pleased with my progress! I haven't cheated at all. (unless you count the time I ate red sauce that had sugar in it unbeknownst to me:rolleyes: )

I still have 7-8 more lbs before our trip in May. I am really hoping I can get there. It will keep me a little breathing room for when I am on vacation. 145 is a really fine weight for me, it puts me around an 8 or 10 in size so if I gain about five on vacation it will be alright. I am not going to go wild with my eating but there are definately some desserts I will have with my family. I am looking forward to the Kitchen Sink at Beaches and Cream as well as the pineapple and caramel at 'ohana. Watch me go into sugar shock:tongue:

I am doing Pilates pretty much everyday plus about 10 minutes of free weights to tone my arms. I can't wait to get outside and do some serious walking but WOW it is still so cold here. We MAY break 35 degrees today!

I have to say how enjoyable this way of eating is. I never feel deprived. I LOVE being able to put my size 10 jeans on and have them fit comfortably and not cut off my circulation as the day progresses. I have just a general feeling of well being. I think it is mostly due to the fact that this WOE-WOL if something I know I can do where as the other things I've done have been temporary quick fixes which didn't solve my problems because it always went back on eventually. (with each pregnancy)

Anywho...I have alot to accomplish before our trip. I am going to step up my exercise and really keep good track of my eating. I use fitday for that which is just fabulous. To make my goal I will need to be technically at 139 because I started this journal at 159. It is going to be really difficult but I know I can do it!

I want to thank everyone who has stopped by my journal! Your encouragment has helped beyond words. I really love those jumping smilies! I don't think I could have done so well, especially in the beginning, without this board. What a wonderful group you all are! What the heck will I do after our vacation is over without my visits to the DIS boards....

Have a wonderful day!

Elizabeth:sunny:

Elizabeth - you are doing so well with the South Beach diet. Congratulations!!!! Since you like the bouncies - here are a few for you and all your success: :jumping1: :jumping1:

I appreciate what you have said about tweaking South Beach to suit your needs. I've had to do the same. I seem to lose so much better when my fat intake is up. I try to stick with the healthy fats as well and again, I see better weight loss with it.

I am glad your jeans fit so well and know you'll be at goal soon.

P.S. Just because your Disney trip is coming up soon, that doesn't mean you can't pop into the DIS and on WISH and say hi from time to time! :)

I stepped on my scale this morning for my weigh-in...HOLY COW!!!I couldn't believe it when it said 142!!!!!!!!!!:earseek: I had to step on it three more times to make sure...

Which means I have only three more to go before making my 20 lb goal before our vacation which is RIGHT around the corner! So excited and the kids are bouncing off the walls already...it is going to be soooooo much fun!

In honor of my loss I am going to buy a bikini top to match my swim skirt from Lands End! YIPPEE!:hyper:

The April Fools challenge really helped me stay motivated and I am now participating in the Mother's Day challenge. I can't believe I am almost at goal. Wow, what an experience this has been!

I am also really excited to make Easter Dinner this year. Traditional foods in our family since I was little were all these foods I would feel guilty eating every holiday now SURPRISE, SURPRISE they are O.K. on this WOE. I will forgo the hot cross buns and shrimp and rice salad but will eat lots of deviled eggs, hummus with low glycemic veggies, celery with cream cheese and olives, sunshine salad, ham and I even bought a Ruby Tuesday's Cheesecake for dessert! YUM! (although it is now more expensive to buy the whole cheesecake 32.00 in our area so I will only do this for very special occasions)

ZerasPride...
I have been watching your progress and it is such an inspiration! You are awesome!!

Have a wonderful Holiday weekend!

Elizabeth:sunny: *who is off to get her new 15 lb clippie*:teeth:

:jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1:
CONGRATULATIONS ELIZABETH!

Your new clippie looks fabulous on you. I'm also sure you will look fabulous in your new bikini too,;) You have worked really hard, and the results are showing. Your Easter meal sounds Yummy. Enjoy!
