Fall Room Discounts are out!

These days you need a spread sheet just to figure out what resorts and rooms ARE discounted. With Disney limiting discounts to certain view/category bookings and changing up discount rates from one day to the next it can get confusing.

It looks like they are no longer just filling rooms at off peak times but trying to fill the less popular resorts and categories within those resorts. Wonder what's next ?

Thanks for posting this. I would have missed it! I saved over 425.00 on my POR reservation!

Tonight I'll have to look over my schedule and see if I want to take the savings and go to the first MVMCP.

:cool1:Yay!!

I had my Poly vacation booked for our first Disney trip!!

Then free dining came out and I added a day at the beginning of our stay to catch FD. I saved $300.00 by adding a day. It is truly a savings because we were going to pay for dining, on account of I have a tendency to be cheap, and I didn't want to skimp while on vacation.

So, with this 30% room discount, I called and my CM ran the numbers. By adding the dining back in and applying the room discount, I saved another $15.00!!!

And, in the middle of me saying "can you run the numbers if we remove that extra day...." I realized that was crazy talk! I'm keeping the extra day now that I've got it.:cool1::cheer2:

Disney has been averaging adding ~1K on property rooms a year for over a decade now. ~13,750 on property rooms added since 1998. That is over 5 million more room nights a year to fill than there were 15 years ago.

Not a single resort other than Pop Century had availability during our October trip. Wow.

Still hoping for any sort of AP or FL res discount! But we're booked at POFQ, which will likely be excluded from discounts anyway. I almost wish Disney hadn't had such a SPREE of insane discounts the past few years, because now that they're cutting back, it's hard to accept. I never thought I'd have to pay rack rate again! :lmao:

My Disney TA had an e-mail waiting for me first thing this a.m. informing me of the new offer. I already had a standard room booked at the BC for the last week of October, with the free dining added on, for DH and I. She knew I was hoping for a room-only discount, which would save us more money than FD would. But unfortunately, only a lagoon-view room at the BC was available with the new discount, which would end up costing more than what we have now ... without the dining. So we'll keep what we have and just be grateful for the Free Dining. Whew!

I'm in the same boat as you, thankful to have Free Dining!

So I called and the discount price then re-adding the dining plan cost an extra $170 over our FD ressie. If I eliminate the dining plan, it saves us $700 - but we have ADRs for CRT and lots of character meals. I don't think we can eat for less than $700 in 7 days?? I left the FD ressie alone...

I called and actually used the discount to upgrade from POR-Royal Rooms to Beach Club Standard. $40 difference

Boy are you lucky ... the only room category available at the Beach Club with the new discount (for the last week of October) is lagoon view. That would end up costing us MORE than the standard room we have booked now! Ugh.

Can you get a discount on concierge level rooms, too?

We switched from WL with FD and hoppers to Poly club level garden view with no hoppers and it is costing us $60 more. I figure club covers a lot of food and we will pay OOP for BOG for me and my daughter and CRT breakfast for the 4 of us....

Had a POR standard room reservation for our first three nights. Called to apply the room only discount and got a Royal Room for about $50 less. Thanks to the DIS for letting me know about the discount.

I'm going to try rebooking a split stay instead with BWI and Dolphin to save some cash... Am afraid I'm going to regret this but it does save quite a bit... Practically nothing is available for Nov 10-13 though!:sad2:

My dates for the YC are similar, 11/8-12, and there was nothing. I guess because it's Jersey week and the last weekend of the F&WF the Epcot hotels are booked. But I will keep trying.

Really disappointed - no Moderate rooms available at all for our dates in October. Seems rather odd - know it's Food and Wine as well as MNSSH but still surprised. Dates are October 20-24. Will be booking a Value Resort, and make a few calls as it gets closer to see if something opens up!

I am still waiting to see if AP room discounts are higher. My friend wants to come for the weekend and it will be 15% off at Pop. I plugged in my numbers for the 11 days we are there and it would save me $750 now. I am going to have to go back to the spreadsheets to see if I need to drop FD for my DS and I or stick with it.

Yes I just book the Honeymoon Suite at the WL and saved $1142. Can I just add anything in possible. I've called at least once a week to see is the Honeymoon Suite was available, for months none were open, called this morning and there it was. Waiting especially for me. :dance3: :cool1: I'm so excited I'm about to burst!!!!!!!!!!!!!
