Has anyone book the "Fall Fantasy" package? Did you get a good price and at what WDW Resort?

RobinLyn

Robin - I just got a quote the other day (was checking to see if Fall Fantasy was pricing better than the Resort Magic with special code listed on Mary's a few weeks ago) - 6 nights at AKL savannah was about 1960.00 (l adult, l 'jr' (13) - 8/25-31. ) When he was helping me compare the package costs I'm pretty sure he said the FF was running about 189.- + tax and the one I had gotten (was very hard to book!) was about 189.- incl tax. -so I was saving about 200.- with the RM with code. Also the FF had to be PIF 45 days out. Hope this helps - btw, I made calls to 5 CMs during my persistent booking day and every one of them was wonderful!, even the ones who couldn't find what I wanted asked for help and then admitted that they couldn't get it, one even explained that if another CM has something pulled up sometimes they can't access it (in other words, try again!)- finally I got a very experienced CM who tried a day later check in and was then able to re-add my day once the package was booked - got to love 'em when they're good!!!;)

HI Robinlyn - I booked the Fall Fantasy for this September for $1650 including tax (5 nights at the YC Waterview). Boardwalk Waterview would have been would have been @ $100 more total. I thought it was a good deal. Just the 2 6-day UHP's would have been @ $600, so basically I'm paying around $210 per night for waterview! I'd be curious about the Resort Magic with code for YC and compare rates..... I guess I'll check mousesavers and make a call to Disney

I booked the Fall Fantasy with the breakfast option (I just love the character breakfast each morning!!) at the Polynesian in a Garden View Concierge room for 4 nights for $1723 (2 adults and 2 children under 3). The resort magic for the same time period was over $2200 and that didn't include breakfast.

177 days to go!!!

Wow, everyone did great with this package! Bjakmom, way to go on getting that price for AKL Savannah, excellent rate!! I think that will be hard to beat. You were lucky to get so many helpful CM's at CRO. The first time I called about the FF package, I got a very unhelpful female CM who wouldn't even look. She just said 'sorry, nothing for your dates. I called back within minutes and got Opal, who was GREAT. She kept my original reservation, switched from garden view to "water view", same dates, and we saved $288 on a four night stay. Kimberly, the FF is much better than Resort Magic. I got about the same price you did (I figured it out to be about $212 a night) at YC the end of August. The only thing I lost was the Flex Feature in the Resort Magic package which I think is worth about $20 a person on average. If something else comes out that beats this rate, I will be thrilled and maybe add on another night. Rgionet, you also saved a lot at the Poly. I really like the Polynesian Resort and we use to do the character breakfast when the boys were young, I miss it. Now they are 13 and 16 and would rather sleep than get up and eat a large breakfast at WDW, so we opt for bagels, poptarts, ceral, etc. in the room. I always rent a frig so we can keep milk, cream cheese, and of course soda in our room. I know this has been said before, but there is nothing like staying on the monorail when your kids are young. Let me repeat, there is NOTHING like a resort on the monorail with little ones!!! Well worth every penney if you can afford it.....

Anyone else get a good deal with the "Fall Fantasy package that just came out? We would love to hear about it.

Robinlyn,
I have booked the FF for my DH and myself, 5 nights for the end of August at the Boardwalk Inn (standard), total $1755. (including tax). That's including the breakfast each morning. I booked the airfare myself. We enjoy the character breakfasts (even though it's just the two of us) and we are all set until dinner time. We have done the FF twice before (98, 00). For that time of year, if you price separately, it's a better deal to go with the package. We will enjoy our last day (late evening) and then stay near the airport to fly out the next day so we will get full use of the UMP. We also hope to check in early our first day. You use to be able to get that package without tickets, but no longer. I booked through our AAA agent and I also called myself and received the same prices.
I would not book any other package than FF if we were going another time of year. I would do everything separate.
Hope this helps...

Bonnie

Hi Bonnie,

I agree about booking everything yourself, most ot the time it is cheaper and you don't pay for things you really didn't want. I was wondering if you have ever stayed in a hotel near the airport and which one? We are doing the same thing our first and last night in Orlando. Before heading to WDW this time, we will be spending 3 nights at Royal Pacific Resort at Universal. The first day we arrive around 3:00 PM and we are staying at the Crowne Plaza on International Drive. We have spent a night or two at this resort before and it is really nice. My husband travels a lot and he earns points at Hoilday Inn/Crowne Plaza so we are staying there mainly because it's free, but I would stay there even if it wasn't. When we leave the Yacht Club on the 29th, we plan to spend the day at the parks and that evening stay at a hotel around MCO. We have a flight out on August 30th around noon. I have been looking at the Hawthorn Suites and Renaissance Hotel at the airport as possibilities. We have two teenage sons and are looking for at least 2 queen beds in the rooms. Where do you stay? Any suggestions?

RobinLyn,
In 8/00 we stayed at the AmeriSuites ($45) on Augusta National Drive (there are now 2 locations). We arrived near 1am because of delays due to the "weather" (Ha). They offered a free shuttle, but at that hour when I called the hotel they told us to take a taxi and they would reimburse us, in which they did. The room (suite) was nice. I don't know about 2 queens as we had one king. I was so glad we weren't paying for a night at our resort (that year was the Beach Club)! We then took the 8am shuttle back to the airport to get our shuttle (8:35) to the Beach Club. We arrived by 9:15am. (I document everything!) We had reserved the AmeriSuites for our last night, but we had to rush home unexpectedly and flew home a day early. We were able to cancel without penalty. I would stay there again.
This year I have been checking all the different hotels around the airport, but haven't got a rate to suit me yet-between the Entertainment card, AAA, or "manager's specials" and Orlando discount site. I would like to stay at the Hyatt inside the airport, but the rate is $129. I know I could use Priceline, but we do need a shuttle and with Priceline you cannot cancel. I like to be able to change my mind...

Hi Bonnie,

You received a great price at AmeriSuites, $45. I'm going to look at their web site now to see what type rooms they offer. I also spend a lot of time searching for deals, even for the one lousy night at the airport, lol. But not sure just how many vacations we have left with our boys now that they are getting older and we want to enjoy every minute. I also looked at the Hyatt in the airport but I'm afraid it will be noisy, I'm a little sleeper. Thanks for your help.

RobinLyn

Robinlyn - I too am an EXTREMELY light sleeper. (I can't even sleep with the windows open in the summer). We stayed at the HYatt for 1 night this past Feb. and I was so surprised to find out how quiet the room was. We had requested a top floor, atrium (inside) view, and it was completely soundproof. It was fun to stand out on the balcony and watch all the people just coming into Orlando at the start of their vacation :)

So don't think of the Hyatt as being noisy - they realy did do a good job soundproofing those rooms. I'm not sure however what an outside room would have been like.....

I just got a quote for the Fall Fantasy package for 9/18-24 for 2 adults at POR. It came to $1260 including tax. (no breakfast)

I made sure to ask her to remove the vacation insurance. They stick that on to all packages, and in our case it would have added $100 to the package price.

For us to book it all seperate using our DC discount it would come out to $1339. There is a savings, but it is not big.
