Fall/Fall Advantage 2009 interviews

Okay so I just had my interview, and I think I messed up.

The interviewer asked me to tell her which roles I wanted to do. I told her, and then she started asking me if I wanted to add the quick service food one.

Is it bad that I said no?
I'd really rather not work with food, but if it was the deciding choice between me being accepted/denied, I'd do the food stuff!

I'm so scared now!!!

Its ok, I thought about it myself before I said anything. She said they wereny pressureing me into saying yes, they just had to ask everyone. She told me it wouldnt effect my results in any way.

I wasn't asked if I was willing to do QSF&B or Custodial, which surprised me...I listed Merchandise, Attractions, Transportation, & Hospitality. They only asked questions about Merch and Attractions. I think my answers were good, but i'm sure she could tell I was nervous. I hope I get in!:cool1:

Wow! Except for Attractions, those are the roles I'm planning to apply for next year. Which questions were you asked for Transportation? Any for Hospitality?

Thanks, good luck!

They only asked me questions about Merchandise and Attractions which were:

Merchandise:
Do you have any experience with Multi-Tasking?
What if you are out of a product someone wants?

Attractions:
Space Mountain question
Does speaking in front of large audience bother you?

Thanks so much Joanna! It seems you were asked a lot of Character Attendant questions! That sounds like a good sign to me... I don't want to jinx anything for you though... *knock wood*

Thanks! :)

Joanna, what I did this morning made me feel a lot better.. sort of. I'm a little worried that they lied to me just to get me off the phone, but that's just my mistrust of anyone who leaves me on hold for a long time.. haha.

I called the 1-800 number that I scheduled my interview through, went to the Orlando College Program part (1,1) and then pressed 1 for information on it. After you listen to the robotic voice talk for a while she says something like "if you have any more questions, please press ___ (some number, I think it was 0?) to talk to a Disney representative. So I talked to this lady, explained I was calling to see if they got my fax for the Orlando College Program, and she transferred me to this really nice guy who checked for me.... he said they had it. So yay!

Now I just have to hope that they have the role checklist and everything... and that he didn't just tell me they had the online app. I'm pessimistic that way.. I'm not going to be sure they got it until I get my letter in the mail.

That's a good idea! I don't think they are open on Saturdays (I will try calling anyway). But I will call and ask too.

I'm not sure how I feel about it overall... my interviewer told me her supervisor was going to listen in, and after that everything seemed rushed.

She asked two questions about Character Attendant and Merchandise, then one about Attractions. After that we talked about housing, and my reasons for applying.

:cheer2: I am cheering for each of you!! :cheer2:

Cheering for you too! Maybe it's because you're so awesome that they had the supervisor listen in? :flower3:

And it probably just seemed rushed because you were nervous.. I felt rushed too, and then looked at the clock, and realized about 15-20 minutes had gone by.. it felt like 5.

Go for it.. I know someone else (don't remember exactly who) called on Saturday, not expecting anyone to be there, but someone was... so it's worth a shot, especially for peace of mind. :goodvibes

Hmmmm.... Maybe I should call as well? Now i'm getting a bit worried, I haven't gotten a Thank You For Interviewing email, did anyone else get it?

I interviewed on Wednesday and faxed in my role checklist the same day. :confused3

I got my e-mail from my recruiter Juliana on Wednesday and I interviewed on Monday afternoon. I think it just depends who you have as a recruiter but it can't hurt to give them a call.

Hello, I'm new here! I've applied to participate in the Disney College Program for Fall Advantage, and I had my interview on Friday! I told my interviewer (Nancy) that I wanted to do BBB, Character Attendant, Attractions, or Merchandise. My question is, which of these is the hardest to get? Thanks!

Welcome to the DIS! :)

Good luck to you! Hopefully I will see you in FL (I also am applying for Fall 09). I would have to say that of your choices, BBB would be the hardest to get (since they only take a limited number of CPs).

Ahhh, I figured - my interviewer told me something along those lines :) It's the one I want the most though, which I told her. I was asked three questions about that, three questions about Attractions, two questions about Merchandise, and none about Character Attendant. Here's hoping, I guess!

Well, hopefully you will get it. :)

Is anyone applying for Transportation? This will be first on my list.

I'm too scared to go for Transportation.

I had issues with driving a pargo (let alone a huge boat or monorail).

haha, aww! Being that they're both entirely different things, I don't think you'd have a problem! Maybe your next program you can try for it.

Too bad this would be my last CP. I'm graduating this summer, and I hope to go FT after the CP ends.

Sooo tomorrow is my interview at 10AM eastern time with Rhonda! I just updated my resume and have all my references listed in order with contact information! What do we have to fax following the interview? I know the Role Checklist but do we also send a resume? Just curious.

I am going to go for Vacation Planner as my # 1 then Hospitality, and then attractions I think idk I really just want my #1 or #2! I'm glad you guys posted about them asking about Quick Service food because I think I may have paniced and just said yes but I definitely don't want to and with the heads up I will be prepared to answer in that manner. Thanks to everyone who have posted about their interview experiences so far I will be sure to update when it is over! Getting really nervous!
