Fall breaks as busy as spring breaks?

I know there's always plenty on the boards about spring breaks, but I can't recall hearing alot about fall breaks. Aside from Halloween itself, is it very crowded in the parks earlier in the month?
Thanks!

I'm wondering this myself.

We have been before in October, but not since 2001. It was 3 weeks after 9/11 and WDW was very empty. Many people had cancelled their trips so the parks were like ghost towns at times.

How about I start a poll<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/8/8_4_24v.gif' border=0></a> to see how many DIS'ers are going next month? Maybe that will help us both.:)

We went in Oct 2002 and are going back this Oct. The other three times we have gone have always been in late May so that is what Im comparing it to. We had a couple of days mid week that were not too bad at all but as the weekend drew near (like on a Thursday evening) it picked up quite a bit. We are from Alabama and several systems here just started in 2002 having Fall Break so many people do go during that time. However it was not crowded so bad that we are not going back. The longest line we had to wait in was about 35 minutes and that was Test Track at Epcot. Every thing else was around a 25 minute wait at the longest. There was also a convention going on at the same time we were there so that may have contributed to the crowds. Have a great time!

Many southern schools are starting to have a "fall" break, but most of the rest of the country does not get any break during this time. We have a 4 day weekend for Columbus Day so we are making a quicky trip then. Many people seem to take their kids out of school for Disney too, but I still can't imagine that anything in the fall could be as crowded as Spring Break time, especially the weeks around Easter.

I told my DH that Fall Break wouldn't be crowded. I hope I'm right, because I hate taking my kids out of school. We're leaving Friday, along with 7 other families that I know of from our area (north Alabama).
