Fall 2026 itineraries

The Wonder is showing on the Sydney port schedule for Oct 2026. And the date of her arrival there pretty much tracks with her last Alaskan cruise in Vancouver (and then allowing for time to get to Hawaii and then the south Pacific). Speculation on my part obviously but it does look like it's the Wonder heading back down under....(And I agree, they should send the Magic down under).
Well that answers that.

I guess Magic will sail from San Diego in the fall or get sent back to the Atlantic. But they are kind of oversaturated in the Bahamas/Caribbean (Dream, Fantasy, Wish, Treasure, Destiny) so I'm not sure if sending the Magic back to Galveston or San Juan makes sense.

If they do it will fail. Dcl Cruises for australians are much more expensive then for americans due to the exchange rate. Only rich australians can go and rich australians dont want the same shows and restsurants they have already seen and done. If the magic went it would be packed out. With the wonder it will be empty. Going second half of october is already quite silly given its wet, windy in southern australia at that time of year and the school holiday period has just finished leaving two whole months before the next holiday period begins.

The spot on the Sydney cruise schedule could very easily be swapped out for the Wonder I’m sure- if Disney wants to. It’s the same size ship so they may have used the Magic to reserve the spots with the intent to change it later once they make an official announcement.
Definitely!

Disney doesn’t think about stuff like this, annoyingly. It would make more sense for Aus & Europe to send one ship for two years, then another ship for two years, and then go back to the first ship for two years and repeat. That would at least mean you aren’t seeing the same shows for multiple years in a row and if you can only sail once every other year you’d also get a different ship (which is why I wouldn’t alternate every year.)

The strategy that's working is to discount the entire season 30% or the ship won't fill.
The entire season hasn't been discounted by 30% though. Only some cabins for some sailings. Not only that, but the assumption that ships need to be "full" to be profitable isn't accurate. There is a larger picture.

I hope we get the Magic down under. The Adventure is going to be very tempting to many Australians if we're simply offered the Wonder again, especially with the lacklustre "Magic at Sea" itineraries.

I'm hoping either ship is going back through the Panama Canal. That trip over is sold out, so I bet they can sell it and then send the ship to Galveston.

The PC sailing will open up as people drop off closer to PIF. Many people think they can take that much time off and swing the cost and later realize it is not feasible.

I doubt the Wonder or Magic is coming to Galveston after the April 2026 crossing. They are spending the money to winterize the Magic for Alaska and promised year round sailings for Galveston. My guess is the Dream or the Fantasy.

They could throw a huge curve ball and start year round sailing in 2027 in Late 2027 when the new Wish class ship is set to arrive. Move the Wish down to Galveston and new wish class to PC.

Or they could just have the newest wish class ship out of Galveston but I doubt that will happen unless DCL is building a dedicated Disney terminal (which they could?) because I can't see them wanting a new ship sailing out with all the videos from a terminal without all the Disney touches like the giant mouse ears when you board.

We are talking about Australia still right? Much of the season has indeed been discounted. As was the last season. There's many reasons for this, but Disney will need to adapt if they want a market here.

No, we aren't. Your original post said nothing about Australia. But even if we were, are you claiming that DCL had to discount all cabins on all sailings by 30%?

The 30% offer is on the Disney website under specials. It's not all sailings, but it's in addition to all the GT rates being offered.

Yes, I understand that. You make my point that a blanket statement that DCL had to reduce the rate for everybody, all ships, all sailings is not correct.
