Fall 2016 planning (continuation of 2016 Free Dining Watch)

[QUOTE

Kidney disease is the pits but you've got a SUNNY (badum Ching!) outlook and you will rock dialysis if and when the time comes. I'm an RN too and I'm often surprised by how well my diaslysis patients do when they keep a positive attitude about it.

And DL will be awesome

As many others have said, wishing you all the luck in the world! :grouphug:

I've enjoy many of your posts and positive outlooks on many fronts, so hoping you keep the ray of Sunshine that you've brought to this thread to your situation and the coming months. Sending much pixie dust your way pixiedust:pixiedust:and hope you can maybe do a solo trip or a short trip with the grandmunchkins anyways!:banana::banana:

Prayers for you! I agree DL will be great and planning is half the fun. I also think if you can keep the DW trip do it! Many blessings to you and I hope you stick around with the rest of us on this board!

Definitely keep hanging around here. You are a ray of light and I enjoy all your posts. You're truly a positive person. :)

You all, from all these responses yesterday, have given me such warm fuzziness!! I can't believe how many wonderful people are involved on this thread!!! Thank you ALL for taking the time to let me know you care!!! Maybe next year I will be able to join some of you at WDW during free dining!!! In the meantime, I look forward to what lies ahead!!!!

Thoughts and prayers along with a little magic and pixie dust coming your way, and you will be in DL enjoying all that goes along with up it. I'm confident with your outlook and strength it will all work. Until then keep planning and sharing. The Dis people are here but more importantly, your family is.

As others have already said sending prayers your way and hopefully you will be able to make it to DL even if you start by dialysis before May! Glad to hear you aren't leaving this thread :)

Thank you so much!!!! You've blessed me!!! I was talking to my adult daughter yesterday. We've agreed that it would most likely be too difficult to visit amusement parks while on dialysis, but, we are both willing to try and make it happen, so, I may have more trips to come!!!

Y'all are wonderful and you've definitely brought tears to my eyes!! I guess I should explain my situation. I have kidney disease and am very close to having to start dialysis.

I feel confident I could have made it to December, but May of next year probably won't happen, unfortunately. But I can plan, as my daughter will be able to benefit from my research, and I will still get to talk with all of you, so win-win, no matter what!

So, it has nothing to do with DL vs WDW, but it's timing!! But as I said, it's in God's hands now!!! Ty everyone!!!!
I am so sorry, I am sending thoughts and prayers your way!!! Please don't leave the boards we would all be lost without your advice!! I think your profile name perfectly describes you "Sunnie" and I have no doubt this attitude will get you through!!! Someone above mentioned something about being able to still travel and visiting dialysis centres on vacation, maybe that could be a possibility! If you do go to DL take a picture of Walts window with the light on for us!!! Are your Grandmuchkins done school for the summer? My kids aren't done until June 29. I have had so many school events this week, I wasn't able to keep up with this thread. My DD has SK graduation on Monday.:sad1: It makes me sad because I found once my oldest graduated Kindergarten the time started flying by.(He is now finishing 3rd grade). Well at least I still have DS3 at home to keep be busy or go crazy,LOL.

You can still do all the fun Disney movie partys with the Grandmunchkins, I bet they would love that!!!

It sounds like you have a wonderful daughter!!! I think she understands your love of Disney and I know you will have more trips in the future!:)

Hey all you Frozen fans, I saw they had a soft opening today for the meet and greet. There are even some videos on youtube.

Oh my gosh! That's exciting!! Hopefully the reports will be good!!!

So sorry to hear about your health concerns. It is possible to travel while on dialysis. You just have to talk to local clinics and get scheduled in. I'm not sure if there would be transportation services or if your daughter would have to transport you. My MIL traveled to visit family while she was on dialysis, but she and FIL drove, so he took her to appointments in different cities.

It takes planning. I was a dialysis clinic manager for three years, so I know it's possible, I just need to see how I do on my non dialysis days, before I know whether ill be inclined to travel. Thank you!!

(((((HUGS))))) Thank you!

Congratulations to your daughter!!! That's so exciting!!! When your three year old munchkin starts school, you may find a whole new world opening up for you!!!! I understand the sad feelings though, as time does go by quickly and they grow up SO fast!!!!

I will definitely take a picture of Walt's window!! It gives me goosebumps every time I look up and see it!

As for my grandmunchkins, we will do movie nights once to twice a month! I'm stalking up on movies for it!! They are home schooled and I am the teacher! I love it!

Thank you!!!

You can still do all the fun Disney movie partys with the Grandmunchkins, I bet they would love that!!!

Most definitely!!! I'm getting all kinds of Disney movies, so I'm ready. Our first movie night will be isotopic, when it gets here!!!

I am blessed! I think I will have more trips, just different trips, which will be ok too!!!

NOW, back to planning!!!! Has anyone read a report about the Frozen soft opening?? My grandmunchkins were NOT interested when I told them about it, but being the good grandma I am, I would have gotten a FP+ for it and made them go with me, lol.

That must be fun teaching your grandmunchkins! I also want to hear about the Frozen soft opening. Was it the meet and greet or ride that opened? My DD doesn't care if she meets E&A this year because she met them last time but I really want to see the Royal Sommerhus.:) I can convince all the kids to do the new Frozen ride because my DS loved Malestorm and he is curious to see if they just changed the scenery but left the actual ride kinda the same.

The ride will be the thing that hooks my grandmunchkins, or as my older grandson said, 'unless it's too girl's, lol.

I know they have something Frozen at DL, but I haven't looked into it yet.

I think just the meet and greet but I'm not sure. I've looked on youtube for ride videos and I don't see any. I'm guessing that there would be videos already if the ride opened too but I could be wrong.

I just found it on youtube and it is just the meet and greet. It said the ride opens up on June 21, so we should hopefully see a review on Tuesday.:) I am sorry I don't know how to copy a link but I looked up "Walt Disney World Sommerhus opening" and it was the first video by "Inside the Magic". It looks really cute inside and now after watching the video my DD wants to meet them again, LOL.

DL just opened a Frozen stage show to replace Aladdin in DCA.

Prayers and pixie dust for you, @SunnieRN!

I'm not very good at this kind of thing, but I also wanted to say that I'm glad you're going to be able to go to DL! Hopefully everything with dialysis will go OK. It's a little difficult to think about traveling somewhere magical and then thinking about people who might not be able to due to health problems.

Closing in on 100 days, thought I would design a countdown for me and DD. This is laser engraved on the back of a cutting board and then I'll cut our Mickey heads to stick on each day as we count down.

This is adorable!!!! What a great idea for a countdown calendar!!!! And wow! You're so talented!!!

Happy Sunday! I hope y'all had a Happy Fathers Day!!! I watched the Utube video for Soarin Around the World. It looks really good!!

I'm looking forward to ride videos from the new Frozen ride!

I am hearing very positive things about the Frozen show at DLR, but I doubt if I will be able to get my grandmunchkins to watch it. I think it will be too girly for them. Especially the 10 year old, who will be 11, going on 12 when we go.

I just read an article stating that Disney is in the process as we speak of putting fences around all resorts on the lake, together with specific warning signs. Obviously to late for the poor Nabraska family, but this should never happen again.

I took my nephew when he was 10, and he liked it. He wouldn't say he liked it, but I caught him singing a few times and he had a big grin on his face when we left :D
