Fall 2016 planning (continuation of 2016 Free Dining Watch)

I Switched my resorts on FD from CSR to POR (garden view).... I am now regretting it,....I think...switched because I thought the feel of POR would be better for my 7 yr old granddaughter
Did I make mistake?
No, I've stayed at CSR and didn't find it kid friendly at all. I've only stayed at POFQ, not POR but I walked over there and feel like it's more kid friendly and your granddaughter will love it!

Has anyone had any luck with FD at Yacht Club?

I had been all over this client trying to get them to give me dates and a resort before FD came out and they never did. Finally, this morning they did but of course FD is slim pickings right now...
We got the yacht club woods/garden for mid September, have been watching daily for a standard room but no rooms at all have been coming up. I think what they had was very limited, same with the bc also.

Thanks! Haha, yeah I'm lucky my husband is also crazy about Disney so we talk about it nonstop. We are always saving for the next trip. Yes the disboards definitely helps to be able to purge some of my Disney craziness. I hope your trip is magical and you have a wonderful time!
Thanks! I forgot to mention that it's not really weird for your mom to go with you on your 20th. I took my parents for their 40th. I look at it as they got a nice anniversary gift and we got to go to Disney.

I have BOG for lunch and now they want to go for dinner so I guess since the obsession of free dining is done my obsession will be ADR for BOG. I'll keep the lunch one in case I have no luck.
Why not try both. Forget the grey stuff, try the steak, it's delicious. After dinner you can take a photo with the Beast. For lunch, I like the braised pork.

Is there anywhere I can look to see how much the meals we want are when we go?
I looked at all ears website, and it's great but only gives me a range.
That can make a big difference!
I want to budget tips and buy Disney gift cards with tip amount on them :)
I also want to know how much the one meal we will pay out of pocket will cost me.

Just FYI, I normally use the prices on AllEars myself but recently discovered that quite a few menus on AE listed different prices than what Disney was listing on their site, even on menus that were supposedly updated within the last 3 months. The Disney site is a pain in the bum to check prices, but if you are watching your budget closely I'd use the official site.

Someone was looking for CBR standard 10/1-10/5. I found preferred at CSR for those dates. Also, POP is showing standard and preferred for 9/30-10/8.

Looks like slim pickings all around with Yacht Club, at least for my dates. I've only seen rack rates available for anything but CL rooms, and only once or twice. NOTHING but CL for the Unique Offer Code for YC since it has been released. We booked at Beach Club even though the discount is only 20%, hoping worse case we can ask if YC has any availability when we get there. Hopefully something other than CL shows up in the meantime though

Anyone been to the dining site tonight and only getting 4 restaurants?

I've been having issues the last hour or so. I'm using the MDE app and every time I try to change a reservation time, it shuts down. Also tried looking for new reservations and only get "the sandbox" as the only dining option for all parks. Looks like a system issue.

I've heard things are usually good when you get on 180 days out, but people talked about how difficult it was to get all of their ADRs in October. Apparently, October is going to be a very busy month this year! That's probably why October is blacked out of free dining...

My ADR date for our trip was back in early April, and got everything I wanted at 6am without a problem (and was all done by 6:04 I think lol). Since FD dropped, I've made a bunch more now that I won't be paying for them :) However, BOG dinner only showed a 4:30pm dinner even though I was trying for the last day of our trip, so I was at 180+5. However, I happened to be up 5 days later at 6am, and logged on and got a 6:15pm spot on the exact 180 day mark. I'm thinking maybe it's possible that Disney opens more tables on the exact 180 day mark? Just a thought, in case you can't get something/some time you want.

Has anyone seen availability in a standard room at CBR for 10/1-10/5? I've been searching since 3:00am CST, when free dining was released, and have only found Pirate Rooms.
Did you have any luck? There are preferred rooms showing at CSR for your dates.

Thanks! I'm sort of looking forward to it in a sick and twisted way. :tilt:

It will be nice to just throw everything into the car without weighing our luggage and bagging our liquids. Plus we'll have a car once we're there. That will be different and exciting because we've never even rented a car before, so it will be nice to have the option to drive to some of our ADR's.
It really is nice to have a car there. It's nice to know if the buses take long, you have the option to drive. It's also nice to drive because when you leave, you can slowly progress back to reality and take a day or two to wind back down before having to go back to work. I hated flying home and being smacked with reality within hours. Not needing to weigh luggage like you said, and bringing your own cases of water and food is really nice too. We like driving.

Thanks! :teeth: That's awesome that you took them for their 40th! Yeah, she' s not going to be coming with us this trip as DH is set on a solo trip with just the two of us touring how we want, doing some things she' s not interested in etc.
