Fall 2016 planning (continuation of 2016 Free Dining Watch)

After further investigation. I was able to find contemporary garden view with fd for the same price as Yc garden view with fd. What would you do? We have been to the bc/Yc many times and LOVE sab, but we never stayed at the contemporary? Don't know what to do.
It's hard to give up a favorite, but it's nice to try something new. I would love to be close enough to walk to MK everyday.

Part of what I like is staying at different resorts. It makes each vacation just a bit different. My favorite is AKL/Kidani Village, but I've loved all the resorts I've visited.

I would go with the Contemporary, because it is just a walk away from the MK. Plus if you have never stayed there it will be a new resort to explore.

Is the Garden Wing just as close? Also are they rooms that you enter from the outside? Or do we enter from the inside?

You will enter from a inside hallway. The Garden Wing is on the end away from the MK so you will add steps, but it is still closer that the YC is to EPCOT or DS. Plus don't forget the monarail to EPCOT, instead of a bus ride. I enjoyed being able to pick up breakfast at a QS at the Contemporary also.

Happy Saturday everyone!!! I hope you are all well and having an enjoyable weekend!! Almost time to make ADR's and I'm getting a bit nervous, but there's always some place to eat, right?!
Happy Saturday! When do you make your ADR's? I hope you get all the ones you want!!! There are so many places to eat that you could even try something new and find a hidden gem!!! We try to add 1 or 2 new ones whenever we go because we might find a new place we really love. I love looking at the dining review thread at all the meals to get new ideas. I also try not to judge a restaurant just based on bad reviews. Every restaurant has a bad day and everyone likes different things. :)

I

I love WDW during the fall/halloween season, but we've also been there in November. I thought the weather in November was perfect during the day, warm, could swim, but the evenings got VERY chilly to downright cold.

Sorry, but being from the Midwest I just have to tease you a little bit. I'm looking at last November's actual temperatures, and the coldest it ever got was a low of 49 degrees. :rotfl2:

But at 49 degrees, I'm wearing jeans and a jacket or sweatshirt. If I was at MK for the day and wearing just shorts and a t-shirt and the temp dropped to 50 in the evening, I'd definitely be cold! :)

That's fair. The lowest temp of the day is usually more like 6am, though, so if you're there at 10pm or something, I'm sure it's still in the high-50s. We keep our house at 63 all winter, so 50s to me is light jacket weather! I'm just giggling a little that some people find that "down right cold." One of my best friends grew up in southern Texas and now lives in Miami, and she was practically in tears one day when we were out in 40 degree weather.

Most of the places we would like to eat are popular, but not impossible. BOG for lunch, Tusker House for a late breakfast, WCC, which I'm surprised to see without availability as I have been checking. The rest will be easier I think. My date is the 13th, so Ill know soon.

This was in 2012(?). and it was cold enough from the wind that the vendors selling hot cocoa/coffee in the souvenir mugs ran out of cocoa and cups! Also there were a lot of people in New sweatshirts lol.

We did, as many people did also, have on Capri length pants. Even though we has sweatshirts with us, it was uncomfortably cool. But I will admit, I'm a whimper, lol

On our October trip back in 2014 we were driving to AK and one of the groundskeepers had on what looked like a HEAVY WINTER COAT!!!! We threw our light jackets in the car, but by the time we reached the park, we decided it wouldn't be worth the hassle to take them in. It did seem unseasonably cool that week, but it's better than upper 80's and 90's. Plus, I love the Fall and the cooler temps made for a great Halloween party!!!!!

We usually don't get to go every year but we did go last year around Halloween and it was unusually hot (high 90's) for that time of year. We could pick out the locals because they were wearing long sleeve shirts and pants, lol! We had shorts on were drenched in sweat and kept going inside places to cool down.:) We love the cooler weather too and Fall is my favourite season. I would have loved to have cooler temperatures at our Halloween party!!!

Yep! I believe that they legit feel cold, but it's still a little funny to me. I visited my friend in Miami in January, and it was 75 degrees. She kept apologizing for the cool weather and said we needed to skip the beach. lol!
