Fall 2016 planning (continuation of 2016 Free Dining Watch)

I'm dithering over the stroller issue, too. My girls will be 7, 4, and 15 months in November so some kind of stroller is a no-brainer. I am sure there will be nights where the baby heads out of the park fast asleep in her carrier on someone's back while both big girls ride. But what stroller will work for kids this big? Has anyone rented the BOB duallie? How bad is it trying to push that behemoth around the parks compared to a city mini double? How hard is it to store that thing in a Value room or haul it on the buses?

I think you will get BOG if you keep checking! We got BOG dinner last year around 60 days out when people made their FP selections.:) If I check for Akershus breakfast and H&V dinner for anytime before Nov.7 I can find some availability but today nothing was available! I think it might be because it is the start of Jersey week. I book our ADR's next Wednesday and our vacation starts after Jersey week, so I am hoping we find what we are looking for. The kids don't want CRT or BOG dinner this time so I am hoping this helps make my job easier, LOL.
Neither DH or I want BOG either, we thought it was highly overrated. However, the kids have never been so I am trying to get it just for them to experience it. If we don't get it I won't be too upset, lol.

I could see why you want the kids to experience it, we thought it was fun to see the Beast. We hated the 30+ minutes we had to wait in line after Dinner to meet him though. The kids were also disappointed he doesn't sign autographs. I agree with you we felt it was overrated too,we thought the food was just okay. I am glad they experienced it once but I think we might try lunch next time because it is only a QS for almost the exact same food.

I looked up what the vacation booklet is and it looks really cute. I got all excited until I read it is only posted within the U.S- not fair!

That sucks!! I hope you get one!!! Heck I hope I get one lol.

I'm Canadian and I always receive my vacation booklet in the mail.

I hope that means good things for Hope2016!

I was so happy to see the Incredibles still, I expected the Frozen takeover to have changed that booklet to "A cool vacation" with Elsa on the front :rolleyes2

You need a job in Disney marketing!

It might have something to do with when you book your vacation. I booked a BB last year and received my booklet shortly after returning from my trip.
No BB but had a free dining reservation 16 minutes after FD started!

I'm late to this discussion, but we have a similar issue. Our girls are 2&6 and we are bringing our good stroller for our little one but I am insisting on the umbrella stroller too for our 6. DH thinks I've lost my mind and we have had several, let's call them "spirited" discussions about this stroller but I am adamant! The nights will be long, and the waiting for busses may be extensive some nights at midnight, and she's only 6! If she wants to get pushed occasionally, I am ok with that, she's growing up so fast anyway, if she wants to be babied once in awhile, I'm good. Even if we don't use it, it takes up literally a foot of space in the room and flies for free, so what's the big deal? If it helps us not miss a cross park FP+ even once, it's earned its keep in my opinion!

You have exactly the right idea and after all is said and done, your DH will thank you!

I have been checking everyday in the morning to find out what ADR's book up the fastest so I have a plan next Wednesday when I have to book mine. I noticed today that so many things were booked up right away in the morning today when Nov.07 was available to book. No H&V dinner for anytime, No Akershus breakfast for anytime, No BOG lunches for anytime, No Sci-Fi dinner for anytime, only 1 Crystal Palace dinner for 3:40 and even The Plaza only had a 4:05 dinner available! It was making me really nervous about booking next week until I realized that Nov.07 is the first or second day of Jersey week. We went last year during Jersey week because my littlest ones birthday falls that week and ADR's even at 180+10 were a nightmare! The parks were not that bad but I had to stalk the Disney site and Dis cancellation thread to find at least half of my ADR's! Everyone on the DIS who went the week before and after mine did seem to have much of a problem at 180+10. I am hoping that this holds true for me next week because the lack of availability when I checked this morning is making me nervous!:scared:

Best. Of luck. I hope you get the restaurants, days and times you desire!!

We had a BOB and I loved him. I miss him!!! Lol. Seriously, this behemoth was wonderful!! Super easy to push, turn and fit through single doors!!! A huge basket for coats, sweaters, extra clothing after trips to the water train cars or the dancing water areas. Snacks, shopping trips, huge covers that can actually protect kids from Sun burns, or rainstorms. I miss BOB!! He sits in one of our closets now.

BOB's Re an awesome product, as I'm sure city minis are. BOB has LOTS of room for the kids!! Either one you decide on will work I'm sure. But know that big Bob has room for big kids.

I made my "Jersey Week" reservations on Sunday and had no issues getting everything I wanted. The toughest one was BOG dinner, I did get a reservation but not the exact time I wanted. Everything else I got at the exact times I wanted: Tusker House (breakfast), Yak & Yeti (dinner), Biergarten (dinner), Raglan Road (dinner), Garden Grill (breakfast), and Sci Fi (dinner). I'm also adding Mama Melrose Fantasmic package as soon as it comes out. And I'm still waiting to figure out what's up with HDDR at 6:15pm....I currently have the 4pm timeslot but want to change to 6:15! Good luck!

Congratulations on getting want you wanted!! I think if you made your ADR's Saturday you may have just beat the Jersey week rush!:) I went last year during Jersey week and didn't find the parks too crowded at all, just impossible to get ADR's even at 180+10 days. We did Mama Melrose Fantasmic package last year and loved it! Although we had MM lunch and Sci-Fi dinner on the same day and I was too full for Sci-Fi, which was disappointing because I love the "Out-of-this-world turtle Cheesecake"! I hope the release all the hours and Fantasmic packages soon!

I'm ok with what I got, and it is a significant savings, but I am watching to see if POR opens up for my dates, or I get a code. I'm not obsessing like I was, though. I am still trying to decide if MNSSHP is worth it for my family-6 disney adults.
I'm still holding out hope for POR too, but I called a few days ago and even with my room at POP the price had gone up by around $100 due to the ticket price increase. I'm thinking it's going to come down to how bad I want to stay at POR( if available) or if I'd rather go to the Halloween party and just keep my room at POP.

I can't wait. Got our ADR's done, bought our spooky tickets. Getting clothes ready, now just need to do fast passed and have hours updated for Sept. Anybody know when the hours will be updated with the night time things going on at AK?

I haven't seen anything on the openings of the AK night time things but I do see on TP that the hours for AK starting May 27th thru July 2 show to be 9am-11pm (8am on mh days).

I keep watching that too! I can book fast passes on July 2 I hope they have the schedule out by then. I would assume in September it will only be 8 or 9 but it would help with my planning to know.

Don't know if this will help, but I have a touringplans.com subscription, and they have a "reservation finder" tool that will send you a text when a reservation for a place opens up at the time you want. You have the option of searching over a period of several days, and specific times (they will text you if one becomes available within the hour of your choice). I had most of my ADRs set, but when I decided to book FD, I went ahead and added a few TS restaurants we probably weren't going to do otherwise, and a couple of restaurants had no times I wanted (Ohana, Whispering Canyon). I've since managed to get everything I wanted, and may even have a few double booked until I nail down my park days lol. It's worked great!

Lol after saying I hadn't gotten my book yet, I went to the mailbox this afternoon and boom! Mail from Disney. But, it was for the trip we cancelled, for a room for four, which I cancelled after getting my room for 5 at CBR.

I had to call for another reason, so asked if I would get another booklet for our actual trip and she said yes, they were just running behind on them. So take heart. The booklets are on their way!!!! Yay!!!!

Oh, I ordered our magic bands today!!! Woo hoo!!!! Now to wait for our FP+ window!!

If you current trip is linked to your MDE account, it will be listed below your welcome area, prior to the 'my plansl section. It says 'personalize your magic band's.'

And there are SO many cool colors!!!
I haven't done our magic bands yet but I heard they now have purple!:)

I was really wanting purple, but the other two adults in our group both wanted green (?), so finally one of them agreed to purple so the other one could have green lol. So, I have pink. I am so not a pink person. I'm thinking of switching to orange.

I only have Sci Fi as a backup, in case I don't get MM Fantasmic. I think both meals would be too much for one day, though I'd really like to try both!

Oh, we all have the same colors! :) Actually, on our last trip, because we had 3 different resorts, we each had 3 different mb's and thus many of us ended up with the same colors. With the names on the back of them, it isn't hard to keep them separate.
