Fall 2016 planning (continuation of 2016 Free Dining Watch)

I'm still here! Hit our 60 day mark today and did our Fastpasses this morning. Got everything we wanted and the times I wanted!
Also went ahead and did our online checkin. It's been a Disney kind of day haha! Continuing my work on our Halloween costumes for the MNSSHP.

Today was our FP date as well, and we too got everything we wanted (so far...until I decide to change our plans for the 100th time )! Do we have to do online check in exactly at the 60-day mark as well? Or can we wait a little bit? Just trying to finalize what requests we want to make, so if it's not a disadvantage to do it later, I will wait a few days.

Yay for 60 days and FP success!!!!!

I know, after ADRs and now FP+ done..what do I do with myself haha! The excitement is over for now I guess. I'm shifting focus to getting our MNSSHP costumes done.
I also considered the Star Wars Dessert party. Think we're going to pass...but I'm still stalking it. Yes I've got a problem

Thats where we are. Now that everything is done it doesn't start getting real till we get our magic bands. I think both my brother and I have already packed and we are still a month out. We packed the candy in my brother's carry on last weekend. All my clothes but my socks and toiletries are packed.

We do FP this weekend, and I am kind of dreading it, like you guys said. What will I obsess about then?! Our costumes are done! I am going to paint our magic bands but I have that planned too! I guess whenever Disney decides to release hours for AK and HS nighttime shows and park close, our FP might change, but that's a long shot for stalking!!

We were lucky. Our plans didn't change. We had already scheduled the AK night rides. We just found out a week and a half ago we get to see the Star Wars fireworks. They are pretty slow to update. You would think the would update before the 60 day so people can plan.

I think they are only updating a month and a half out. Ours was just updated a week ago. They are slow on the updating. I haven't heard much else on any changes.

I fully expect to have all the current SW offerings (and possibly more?) available during my trip right after Thanksgiving. Disney is really trying our patience these days though, for sure!

Yeah it's horrible waiting to see what is offered. Planning this trip has been so much more difficult than our others. Disney is just doling out everything a tidbit at a time. So frustrating! I want to plan SW fireworks and late night Animal Kingdom!

In the meantime, I've been tweaking my FP+ reservations, I think I just about have all of them at the times I originally wanted. These 10-15 minute time differences have drove me nuts. Also, this morning I got an touring plans reservation finder alert for a later ADR than I had, so I was able to modify my reservation to a later time like I was wanting to! I've been looking for that time for a long time now and finally got it.

Hey everyone! I've been reading daily for the most part but not posting lately but I have a question. This was discussed a little yesterday on the Nov/Dec discount watch but I wanted to ask y'all too. I think a lot of people that use TP got an email yesterday with an update in crowd levels for fall trips but I just today read the blog post on TP with their explanation. I read through the comments and the writer of the blog a couple of times stated that the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas break is shorter this year so they think crowd levels in early December will be higher. I don't have school age children but from what I'm thinking the time should be the same or possibly longer this year since Christmas is on the weekend. So, my question is for those of you that have kids when does Christmas break start this year in comparison to last year? I'm just looking at my local public school's calendar and it looks like last year the last day of school before Christmas was 12/18 (3 weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas) and this year it is 12/21 (3.5 weeks.) Is that how most school's are handling Christmas break this year or is my public school an oddball?

That's actually when I assumed most school's last day would be when I booked (the 2016-2017 school schedule's weren't online yet probably because it was the middle of the 2015-2016 school year.) I guess my public school is weird but either way that's still 3 weeks so I feel like the TP guy is confused.

Last day before break was Dec 23, 2015 and this year it's... Dec 23rd, 2016 - pretty standard for the Northeast, I think.

I'm jealous because my best friend is at WDW right now and I had the opportunity to go. I'm getting daily pics from them and I have guess the ride they are on. So far I'm three for three.
