Fall 2016 Opens this week PLUS NEW ITINERARY INFO

We were on one of the 5 day Canada sailings from NYC and I agree -- why not add more New England ports instead of just having boring Bahamas itineraries?
It *was* rather breathtaking to sail out of NYC, though.

Can anyone tell me what the Magic is doing when she gets to NYC ?- The Sept 17 WBTA 11 night puts her there on Sept 28th, and the next cruise listed is Oct 2nd - Makes me think there may be a 4 night cruise to nowhere??? But I don't see a mention of it anywhere......

DVC Member cruise?

We were on the very first NYC sailing back in 2012 and it was one of the most fun cruises I've ever been on! I just emailed my favorite Dreams Unlimited travel agent (Beth Czada) to get a couple of quotes for us for the 8-night sailing on Oct 7, 2016. :sunny:

I was wondering the same thing. There is a 4 day Canadian cruise page on the DCL website without a date.....

Please forgive my ignorance having never cruised before....what is meant by gold/platinum/silver....when can regular people book? Also, do they tend to book up quickly? I would love to do one of the New York ones but I won't be able to book until the general public can book. Will there still be space?

I'm somewhat surprised that they didn't squeeze a double dip into the itinerary one week either. guess I'll have to settle for B2B if I need a CC fix. :rotfl:.

Welcome to DCL! The "loyalty program" for those who have previously cruised DCL is called the Castaway Club, and there are various levels -- silver has cruised 1-4 times, gold has cruised 5-9 times, and platinum has cruised 10 or more times. Those who are gold or platinum have advanced booking benefits, which generally allows them to book one day prior to everyone else -- silver CC members or the general public.

Enjoy your cruise!

So I can book when silver books? And do you know how quickly things book up? Sorry for the rapid fire questions---I am just so excited they are sailing out of NYC....We are a family of 5--are there rooms that hold 5 (the kids will be 4, 8, and 14 then)....I have always planned WDW trips but don't even know where to start on the cruise line planning! I'm feeling overwhelmed but excited.

I'm wondering the same thing. There wasn't anything in my TA email. It just had all the sailings. Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's was blocked out for 2015.

Forgive me, I'm new to this....what is OBB?

Hey there!

Make sure when you are getting your quotes that you ask about getting connecting rooms. When we cruised the Wonder over Spring Break it was signifinatly cheaper for us to get two connecting Oceanview rooms (9C - I think) than to get one family-sized room for the five of us. Personally, I preferred the extra bathroom (and TV) with our brood. The veranda may have been a treat, but it was about the budget for us.

Good luck! Happy planning!

Yes, as a first-timer on DCL itineraries open for booking the same time that silver CC -- I believe someone on another posted stated that's May 20th. How quickly the NYC cruises book is a gamble; since there are only a few and it does seem to be popular, but also it's during the school year so many won't be able to do so. But I'd be surprised if they are completely sold out by gold/platinum.

There are very few staterooms that fit 5 passengers. You might also check into connecting staterooms at a lower category level.

Forgive me, I'm new to this....what is OBB?

OBB is an onboard booking. You can make a booking for a future cruise when you are on a cruise, then sometimes people move that to a newly released date/itinerary.

Enjoy your cruise!

While I have been waiting and waiting for a return to NY, and I would love to do the Bahama cruise again, during the school year makes it impossible. :(

I was hoping for a more exciting cruise to Canada. I would rather go from New York to Bermuda also. It seems like they want to go to Port Canaerval for Disneyworld.

Does anyone know what time the phone lines open tomorrow?

thanks, ellen

I too would rather see Disney go to Bermuda. Going to the Bahamas is something they already do. Something different and closer would be nicer and Bermuda would be perfect.

The last time they sailed out of NYC it looks like it was the Summer peak season. This time it's the October which is the off season and generally one of the cheapest months to cruise. Hopefully the prices won't be too bad.
yes, but hurricane season as well.

Bermuda would have been a nice trip from NYC.........wonder why they didnt build that port into any of the cruise dates?
