Fall 2008 PIs

I think this question has probably been answered...

After my first interview the WDW professional application showed up on my account. I completed and submitted it but it says to bring it to my next interview. I haven't heard anything for a second interview since my first one was last Wednesday.

Did I do right by just filling it out and hitting the submit button?

Sorry, I'm just getting a little anxious here :flower3:

Ok now i'm confused...i completed my first interview and she said she was sending my info on but i don;t see any applications on my workbench...does that mean i didnt pass the interview...she said she was sending it on??? i'm real confused now:confused3

well i just received an email saying that one of my internships is no longer hiring and thank you for your time. Funny thing is I dont remember applying to that one haha! I thought i had removed my application. Not only that during my interview my recruiter told me which ones i had applied to and that was not one of them..

Well thanks disney! haha How about working on some other ones i ACTUALLY want?!

well if it helps anyone else it seems like the events department is picking up some pace. C'mon Marketing & Sales!! You can do it!

I already got scheduled for a first and second interview (kind of strange) but I will take it! Conservation Biology!!!

Good luck, think very clearly about questions before answering with the DAK interviews, they can be a little tricky with everyone asking questions at one time. Just my little bit of advice!!! I wish you the best of luck!!!!!:thumbsup2

I just found this board and thought I would say hi. I applied for the food and bev mgmt internship the last day It was available. I thought things were going smoothly because of how quickly I was hearing from everyone, but I think it's the end of the road for me. A manager wanted to scheduled another interview with me early April, but I will be in Ohio for a National competition that my group has been successful to make. She said she would get back to me, but no luck. I love disney, but I've been working towards nationals for 8 months now and I'm not just going to stop now.

Has anyone else not been available for a interview when disney wanted to schedule it?

Welcome to the boards! I'm really surprised they won't work with you on the date. I'm going to FL April 7 & 8th and They wanted me to have my interview on April 10 or 11th, I just asked for the lady to see if they could change my interview for that internship to one of those days and she was able to with no problem. I did have to contact the lady again to make sure she had everything together and she contacted me right back. try sending an e-mail back to her and see what she has to say? Good luck!

I just scheduled my interview for the Work Force Planning and Analysis PI for this Friday! Pretty excited.

BLAHHHH!!!! still nothing from the Marketing and PR departments. i try to ignore it so much but its hard. I mean I even avoided dis to the point I was behind 2 or 3 pages lol. but anywhoo...

still waiting ...................

Me too!! I'm still waiting to hear about a second interview with the Entertainment Resource Center. They said on the app that all hiring decisions would be made and communicated by April 4 (it's a may-august pi)... so I'm getting a little anxious...

Waiting is the hardest... Especially since I can't make housing plans for next year until I know where I'll be this summer!

Wow. that was real quick to get a call about a second interview. I applied the day before you for the same thing and haven't heard about a 2nd interview yet. I'm sure if you call and explain your situation they can move your interview day. Good Luck!

What did you apply for? When I had my first interview, the lady said that I needed to mail in my resume. I did the next day, which they said should take about 3 days to get. I got an email the next morning telling me to call and set up an interview. This was for Food & Beverage. The other positions I applied for, I still yet to hear from. From what I gather, Food & Beverage seem to be on point and are really conducting these interviews pretty fast.

Linda didn't tell me to mail my application in but I received an email right after our interview asking me to fill it out. I mailed it off today just to be safe. In fact, she never mentioned the application to me. I just found it on the workbench.

I wish everyone good luck with their PIs but have anyone been accepted to their program???? What is deadline for when we are supposed to be notified if we got the PI or not????

I was told that the absolute last day they have to turn in new hires was June 1st. The recruiter said they try to push the process along and get it done before that, but that its the absolute deadline. I don't know if that means we would hear by June 1st, or shortly after...? I would assume that the positions would open up and we would be expected to start by the middle of June.

If they waited until June 1st they would be cutting it kinda close. The check-in date is June 20th and they need to have everything ready to go by then. That means training schedules, living arrangements, etc. would need to be a done deal.
I can see how may 17th works, it gives the hiring managers 1 month to make and offer, wait to see if it's accepted, make another offer if the original one is turned down, make sure the new hire is signed up for all the appropiate training and assesments, etc. But doing all of that in 2 weeks! Seems crazy! :scared1:
But I don't know if the animal and science programs have a different check-in date...that could make a difference.

food and bev mgmt is one of the ones i applied for...apparently i didn't need to send in an application because i'm currently a seasonal cast member...it still worries me that others have been conttacted about a second interview and i havent...o well, only time will tell!!!

Has anyone heard anything back from:

International Recruiting?

Guest Relations?

International Media Relations?

If you have, can you please post when and any other details??? :) ;)

Thanks!

Ok, so I actually called Disney to ask them about this because I am in the same boat - applied for fall advantage and want to do a PI right after (and graduating in May).

She said that was totally fine, and that is what SHE did. The only reason there would be a conflict is if you tried to do another PI after that or if you had already done the college program before.

So I'm going to go forward if I only get the CP and do the fall advantage and then apply for a PI based on the information I got from Disney.

Also, it sounds like what you're talking about is totally different in the fact that they were trying to extend their College Program.

Im not quite sure when you were here, but things have changed. We did the advantage program and around July when it came time to apply to extend...not 1 person on our advantage program was allowed to extend because it would put them past the one year mark.

There was no less than 30 people on our program that I personally know of that tried to extend their program and each and everyone of them was denied due to the length of the program.

This was all last semester, so If you have been here more recently than that, then you may have more up to date information.

You better be darn well sure of this and call multiple times to talk to different people and see if you get different answers.

I was in the same boat you are about to be in and did the advantage program and was told under no certain terms would I be able to do the program as you are told you can.

Down here it all depends on who you talk to.

If the PI you wish to do...NO LONGER is requires the CP to be eligible, then yes...you can apply for the PI and get accepted and do it and be done in your 1 year.....

HOWEVER...if the PI you are requesting...requires you to have completed a CP to be eligible, you can bet your last dollar that you will not be eligible. You screw yourself over if you come down here on the advantage program as opposed to the normal program.

I was in your shoes not long ago at all...over 15 people that came to Disney around the same date I did had been told they would be able to apply and do the PIs while they were down here....out of 15 people on the advantage program that I came here with...out of 15 people that were told they could do the PIs regardless of the ending date of their CPs....out of the 15 CPs that came down here to progress their careers and resumes by doing the PI program....

Zero were eligible to apply. Take that for what its worth.
