Fall 2007 College Program

From my noobie knowledge of when you arrive, they will most likely ask you what you want or if they don't you could ask for it, I hear they try to fill Vista up before going to Chatham but I do think you can specify at Check-In.

I don't know if that's true. Both times when I checked in, I was able to get Chatham. So I don't think it matters.

Azure how did your trip down to the park/site go, if you don't mind me asking? Did you get lost like you thought you would? Or did you not go?

The trip went well. Took about 3 hrs to get to it (30 mins longer than expected). I went down there and got as close as I could to the Vista Apts. Looks peaceful from the outside. ^^

Hi everyone! i watched the e-presentation today and am calling to set up an interview tomorrow. When is the dealine to apply for the fall cp program?

Hey everyone!!

I just got my acceptance letter!! Fall 07- Full Service food and beverage. My packet says that it will be something like a hostess job. Does anyone know someone who did this role or know anything about how it is?

I am so excited!!!:goodvibes

Congrats! I never did FSFB, but it sounds good. I do know you will be at one of the sit-down resturants on property.

My son just got his acceptance letter earlier this week! He is in merchandising. The letter arrived just about 2 weeks after his telephone interview (he goes to school in PA). His college advisors told him that the CP at Disney would be a great thing to put on a job resume. Now he is waiting to hear from his advisors how many credits from the CP will be able to be accepted, because he really can't afford to take a semester off from school. Anyone else in merchandising?

I was in Merchandise during Fall 06. Personally it wasn't for me, as I left my retail days in high school and vowed never to return (haha) but it wasn't terrible. I loved my college program, and I miss it terribly ever single day.

Evil Princess - what was your job in Merchandising? Did you take classes and earn credits? I'm also curious what your college major is.

I know what you mean about retail. I worked in the Disney Store for 5 years. I did enjoy it for the most part, especially working for Disney and meeting most of the guests, but the hour (nights and weekends) and constantly changing schedules were not too appealing.

I did merchandise Spring 2005 (with extension over the summer). It really is a good program to do (I have done it twice now). When I did merchandise, I mostly worked the registers, though I did do stocking every now and then. My main area of work was Fantasyland at MK, though I was also sent to work in Liberty Square, Adventureland, and Main Street. I have also worked in the Disney Store for 2 months.

Peaceful on the outside, crazy on the outside. I bet it's gonna be just like my dorm.

I'm already thinking about how I'm supposed to make room for 7 months worth of stuff in just a backback, carry on bag and big luggage bag.

Just got back from the Boston audition! There were about 40 people there and about 10 made it through to the advanced dance section. I made it, but there's no telling what that will mean... so let's hope I hear soon!

Congratulations for making it to the advanced dance section - lucky! Hope you hear back very soon. :)

What was the advanced section like...what types of dance steps did you have to perform...was it more ballet technique, jazz, or a combo of both? Also it says to wear tennis shoes...but can you wear your dance shoes if you want? I go for my audition Sunday...so any info you have would be great!

Wow! That's pretty good. How did it go?

And just want to ask- do you know the names of the people running the audition? Like the dance cheoreogopher (?), ect?

I am so excited. :goodvibes My daughter accepted the invitation to do the college program. She'll be going September 5th until January 4th. She is in the quick-service food & beverage. This will be a long time away :sad2: (she goes to school 20+ miles from home, so she's home one evening a week or so). I am so excited for her, but for us too!!! :cheer2: We are going to go visit her near the holidays (but hopefully during the slower party - early December).

How exciting! Tell her congrats. I was the same way for mine. It was my first time really away from home.
