Fairytale Package out!

I am just curious as to where these discounts come from...Bank One or Disney. I forget where I read a previous post which stated that Disney is the one who decides these offers. That makes me think we should call Disney with our complaints. Anyone else have any idea?

I just called Disney, spoke to Maurice, who said the deals come from Bank One. That doesn't make sense, but I am going to call Bank One anyway.

I encourage all of you who already have the disney card to email or call bank one and complain.

If you log on to the card member services part of bankone.com you can send an email to bank one that is connected to your personal account.

I will not put up with being excluded from the first real deal that the visa has offered!

I'm upset over the VISA deal, too. I've called Bank One and was told if I have a card now (got it in Dec) there is no way to get the deal.

I'm e-mailing Bank One and WDW tomorrow.

I'm hoping it'll be like the PS change they made this summer. At first they let a certain group of people get PS 90 days out and general public stayed at 60...it then changed in about a week so that everyone could get PS at 90 because the general public got angry and made it known.

I just emailed my complaint through my account at card services on the bank one web site. Does anyone have the guest relations email address fro Disney?

NTDIANE,

Where do you put in a code? Do you have to book the trip through Disneyworld.com?

Thanks for the info!

Anna :D

I just got off of the phone and had no luck with the code. The CM verified my credit card number with Bank One and told me that I was not eligible because I had my card too long. It sounds like maybe you got a lucky break, NTDIANE.

be careful everyone...just because you have the code, you may not get the deal. It's like the postcards they send out sometimes. People post the codes here, someone else uses it, and suddenly at check in they get a big surprise....they're not eligible for the code and are charged rack rates.

My travel agent says that Disney has told them that they are checking all Visa deal ressies against Bank One's data base of people eligible for the offer. If you book it and are not on the eligibility list when they check, you're ressie will revert to rack rates.

If you booked it and got it, congratulations. If I were you, I'd check in a week or so and see if you still have it.

If you do not qualify, I think the best thing we all can do is to e-mail Bank one and Disney. If enough people complain (with all the bad press at WDW lately), they'll prob open the deal to everyone.

JMHO,

Anna Totty

DIane,

have you confirmed all your info? last time we thought we
had a luckey break it turned out they had booked us in the
all stars and it was not as cheap as we thought!!!

call back and confirm and let us all know if this deal you got
is for real??

Also, when did you get your disney visa card??

People, if you are interested, CALL! I just did and I've been a cardholder since Day 1. The CM I talked to said they may as well call it the Fairytale package but instead it's called the Dreammaker package. The package is practically identical with the exception you get a couple freebies this time around.

So, we are booked for August at Poly Concierge! :)

Phone 1.800.828.0228, code **** and deposit must be put on your Disney VISA one bank card. Good luck!

P.S. Before booking I asked if it were available to ALL Disney VISA card holders and was told yes but they really didn't start promoting it yet. He did say it will NOT be available to the general public, only those with the card.

I received my Disney card in the mail last week.

I called the CM and gave the code listed above. She asked for the last 4 digits of my Disney Visa card and put me on hold to verify with Bank One.

She came back and told me that I was "qualified" to receive the package, as I was a new cardholder.

The package is called the Disney Visa Cardholder Silver Dream Maker.

While you get 7 hotel nights for the price of 4, you are also getting (And paying for) the UPHs for each person as well as the silver plan 2 wishes per person per day.

After deducting the costs UPHs and the silver plan add ons, I got the contemporary tower for 243/night tax included. the rack rate is usually 370/night.

So, it is a good hotel deal, if you are comfortable with all of the extras.

I am obviously holding on to this reservation, but will be looking to see if AP rates are also offered, so I can ditch the silver plan stuff.

I wish all the best of luck and I totally agree with the long term Visa card holder's anger at the situation.

I called and asked for a quote using the "code" that went along with the Disney Visa offer. I was on hold several times while the reservationist checked the computer. My eligibility, or lack thereof, was verified while I was on the phone. The reservationist confirmed my Disney Visa ownership, but indicated the package was for a target group and that my last four digits of the card didn't qualify. She apologized and seemingly prepared herself to be assaulted--I'm not angry at her--why raise a fuss with the messenger. She did seem genuinely pleased that I accepted her information without arguing.

Anyway--this package doesn't interest me since I am a PAP holder and you MUST purchase the package for ALL four members of your party. We are also staying 9 days and would, therefore, have had to pay full rate on the last two nights anyway. She also told me, and I kind of doubt this, but then again--who knows, that you must book FOUR people on the package. I asked if a family could just book 3 on the package and add a 4th person, e.g., one with a PAP or an AP. No soap, had to be four people. That seems odd to me, but who am I to argue.

I'm not enamored of packages because of the 45 day out cancellation policy. Those AP rates sometimes come a day or two beyond a cancellation period and I definitely wouldn't want to get stuck paying a penalty fee. I was willing to consider this one though, IF we were eligible and IF we could book for 3 and not 4. Guess I'll just keep holding out for the AP rates or other Disney offered discount.

As an aside, I do think the Disney Visa has been worthless--it certainly hasn't lived up to the benefits of the MKC card--and those were pretty limited already! :P

so yes we can call and "check" to see if our last four digits
qualify, but it obviously isnt for all visa card holders...

I have wasted so much time with this! They should be after me for my money, not the other way around! I wanted to stay BWI Concierge Deluxe! You'd think they'd want my money, all I want is to be treated fairly and rewarded for my loyalty to their credit card. I think I am finished with them. :( The four last digits of my credit card just won't work. I've been a member too long.........................:faint:

FIRST I WANT TO APOLOGIZE FOR POSTING THE CODE, WHEN THE CM GAVE IT TO ME I THOUGHT IT WAS FOR ALL AND WANTED EVERYONE ON THE BOARD TO RECEIVE THE DISCOUNT.

I CALLED DISNEY TO CONFIRM MY RESERVATION AND REQUESTED A FAXED COPY, WHICH I JUST RECEIVED I ALSO GET A PIN AND LANYARD
DISNEY CHICE FEATURE(WHICH I DON'T KNOW WHAT THAT IS) AND $100 DISNEY DOLLARS PLUS UPH TICKETS. I HAVE ALSO PAID IN FULL ON MY DISNEY VISA CARD.

I AM GLAD I CALLED AND RECEIVED A COPY OF MY CONFIRMATION.
