Anyone have experience with the new fairy stuff. It is the reason my dd specifically wants disneyland instead of disneyworld. She says it will be nicer.

what do you want to know? the meet and greet? or something else? Today we stood in line for about 30 or so minutes to meet Tinkerbell and another fairy.

I know that it's a meet and greet over where Ariel's meet and greet used to be. That was SO cute over there with her shell...I remember Ariel brushing my daughters hair with a fork...hehehehe!

My 7 year old is VERY excited and I'm hoping we'll get to see some fairys next week.

I never know when to get over there??? Are the meet and greets posted somewhere? By the location?

oh this is something I am interested in knowing too... what is there and whats it about. is it like the Princess thing now is there some sort of show? Do you wait to meet the Fairies and then "shop" and then a little show or story ?

No, no show.

You wait in line (the line area is done quite nicely, there's quite some things to see), first meet Tink's friends (it was two fairies when we were there in November, but seems it's only one now), then you meet Tink around the corner. There's a shop when you leave the area, and that's it.

all I know is my daughter said it is more like Pixie Hollow instead of just a meet n greet in a room (there were no pics or anything in the walk through no lead up of anykind other than what we made up, but the room was pretty). And I read on the site it took over ariels area and the walk to the greeting is like pixie hollow. I was looking for what to expect in wait time, when to go, and do I need to reign in my daughters expectations of what she will actually see.

When we did the fairies at disney world we were told go straight to the queue at opening which we did other than a quick stop in the tinkerbell store (being refurbished so squished down so small not much to do) where the man told us that tinkerbell used to fly around the room but her drawer was locked on the other side of the new wall. Which was the best lead in for the surprise that she was going to meet the fairies. The man let it slip sort of about the meet and greet. However we turned it into a fantasy that tinkerbell was locked out of her drawer and had to find a new home. SO when we got in line and people kept talking about fairies, we were so excited that tinkerbell had found her new home right here in toontown and had friends with her. Anyway by the time we somewhat hurried through straight to the line (all the way accross to toontown, and in the big store) we were told that the wait was 2hrs. It didn't take quite that long. But my husband left us and took my son on goofy's roller coaster and there was a line, 2x then came back to give me a camera then when he was halfway back to tomorrowland I called him back and he took my dd to the other queue for the princesses while I held the spot in line. (they got year of a million dreams ears and I didn't.) Then we had a little more wait. Probably totalled about an hour.

well all day long it seemed busy...we checked all day. We went around 9:30...it opened at 9 and it was a 90 minute wait at that time. We then went back around 2 and it was much less. It is all decorated but nothing special flying around.

Let me give you some back story to beth_cam's post.

There is a shop in WDW Fantasyland called Tinkerbell's Treasures. It was a "rope drop" ritual that the first child in the shop that morning got to let Tink out of her drawer and "fly" around the shop. That is to say, they have special effects built into the shop walls that let you track Tink's sparkling self as she goes around. She then goes back to her drawer and comes out on a regular basis throughout the day. This is the experience Beth was referring to.

At WDW, they try to do the same effect of running you through a queue that shrinks you to fairy size, although it's not quite as effective as the one at DL. The reason, the one at WDW had to be built indoors to handle all sorts of weather (it's in the Judge's Tent in ToonTown Country Fair) and since we don't have "weather" near as much here in DL, ours is outdoors. They were able to take a fairly wooded area and transplant a fairy land right in the middle of it. (Ours is just immediately to the right of the castle.)

The queue waits are usually anywhere from 30-90 minutes. Always check first thing with the attendant at the front of the entrance to see when they open that day.

I can give you some info regarding this as I was there from Feb 4 to 10th. There is a pathway that you walk up to see her. There is lots of large foilage that you walk through to get to where you can meet her or one of the fairys. It's weather dependant, and was closed due to rain a couple of days we were there. Sometimes it's Tinkerbelle at the meet and greet, and sometimes it's one of the other fairys. The kids loved meeting Tink, and she was very outgoing and willing to spend a minute or two with the kids. Just as a side note, while we were there Donald Duck was out for photos on more than one occassion. Hope that this helps you out. Have a great day!!
