Fairy Tale Suite report and pics

Our friend Marla. (Aka Tinkcollector) called and made the reservations for us ad requested Walt's table. Apparently his table is quite popular and we were very lucky to get it. We had a great meal there!

Beautiful hotel room report! I wish I take the time to take pictures of my surroundings but sometimes I'm just so in awe of the magic that I forget! How did you guys get to take a tour of the Studios?

Thanks ladies for posting about this sweet suite!! We had a fabulous time! I can't believe I kept the secret about the room all the way until she opened the door(birthday gift). Her Dad wanted me to really have her surprised. Each night they left a treat too! Above are 2 of them .They also left cookies and milk! We had the welcome bowl of fruit and they did replenish it as needed, very nice! It was worth every penny and we had the best trip. The cl lounge cm's were very sweet to us too!

Cheri, can you rehost those pics? I went back to read this and photobucket is being testy.
I'll dig them out. Photobucket stopped hosting for free, I think, and those old post photos along with all of my signature photos are no longer available.

From what I've read online, the suite has been renovated. If I'm allowed to share this, I found this link online for another blog which shows pics of the renovated FT Suite: http://thisfairytalelife.com/fairy-tale-suite-disneyland-hotel/
Oh no now I need to go back!

We loved that suite. It was the best mom n me trip ever. This year we tried GCH and I kept pointing to"my room" from a distance telling dh how much fun we had and thanks for sending us girls.

Adjacent to the lounge and windows on 2 walls was nice too.

Oh wow, they changed the bed!! That was my favorite feature. Little known fact: the carpeting was silk! Kind of sad that's gone, too. The rest of the room looks very much like it did, but it has a more masculine appearance with the purple and dark wood.

I wonder if the bathroom vanity granite still lights up? The bathroom looks the same, so hopefully it does. You can flip a switch and it looks like the granite vanity is glowing. There was also a hidden TV in the bathroom mirror that you could only see if you turned it on. I wonder it that's still there? Or if the new cabinet in the bedroom still has a pop-up TV that rises at the touch of a button?

Honestly, there were so many switches for things that it was switch overload for me!

Looking at the new "refresh" and I am not impressed. Like @DizMe said, it looks very masculine and to me, it looks very average. It looks like something you could conceivably find at a 4 or 5-star hotel with the hardwood floors and the update in soft furnishings instead of a special room that Disney has created. I really liked the color scheme for the way it looked originally (more romantic IMO) and I loved the carpet (I had heard it was silk! How awesome!). Full disclosure - I hate hardwood floors (IRL and on my travels). For me, it is not comfortable at all for me and my feet.

Looking at the photos in the link "GoldeneyezCA" posted, the view will change when they put up the new hotel.

It is a lovely room.

I with with the new look not having nearly the same appeal. Looking at the old pictures, I was thinking about staying there for my birthday. After seeing the new pictures, I wouldn't want to pay $1500. for a night there. $500 - yes, but not anymore than that. :confused3

You're right! The new hotel, from what I can tell in the mock-ups, looks like it will be directly in front of the FTS. The suite is several floors higher than the proposed new hotel, but it still seems like it would negatively impact the view quite a lot.
