i've been totally lurking your pretrip report, and wondered where you got the 3 weeks from you leave a day after i do! I couldn't believe last wednesday i was at 21 days, now i'm at 14.

I must have sounded like a crazy woman! Or, at the very least, one that cannot count! Thanks for coming out of lurkdom and joining in my PTR! Looks like we will be at GKTW around the same time! Just 14 more days now for me!

YOGA?!?! Nope, no time for yoga! However, right now my brain does feel like has been yoga-ified - does that count? And I'm pretty sure my frontal lobe is in a half spiral twist position!

This evening, I'm working on my packing lists. I am trying to pack the minimum we will need but at the same time want to make sure we are covered in case of weather extremes! I also need to order a few things online which, inevitably, won't come until the LAST MINUTE!

I know, I know . . . it will all work out in the end. Irregardless of what I pack (or forget to pack) and whether or not I completely plan out every second of each day, our trip will be amazing. incredible. a dream come true. Now if I could only do what I always tell my girls when they become frazzled about something insignificnat. "Don't sweat the small stuff!"

I'm trying not to sweat the small stuff as these days tick away. DH and I had a working lunch yesterday While eating at my faroite mexican restaurant (El Mariachi - their chimis are to die for!) we made a list of everything we will be buying on our Day 1 trip to Wal Mart. We decided that, with the exception of a curling iron, straightener, and hair accessories we are going to just purchase all toiletries. This eliminates a lot of the last minute packing and stress (you know how you have to leave something out to use it that morning). We also finalized our 'medical supplies list' as well as the menus for the next 3 Disney Family Nights! I feel like progress is being made!

I don't have 3 weeks left, I only have 2 weeks left to go! Where in the world did that other week go?!?!

14 more days. I haven't even started packing! Even worse, I haven't even started planning the packing!

I still have a surprise bedroom makeover to arrange!

Next week is THANKSGIVING!

We still need to pull off a Wish Party!

Soooooooooooo many things to do and so little time!

After I read your post I couldn't possibly let that go unanswered! Once I finish a couple more posts on the DIS including a very, very exciting new chapter on my own PTR the packing (or at the very least, list making) will commence!

I can't believe you were a week off on your countdown calendar! (It was a week right? Or was it just 1 day?)(I'm just getting back into the swing of the DIS... can you tell? LOLOL)


Good idea just getting toiletries when you get there. Not only do you chance them opening on your bags, but they are so darn heavy. Especially when you need stuff for over a week.

We have a big mailbox, and that, apparently is a problem. I generally have no issue with leaving the mail in the box until the kids have gone off to bed. Then I'll grab the bills and junk and sort through it uninterrupted.

Last night, as we were finishing homework at the table, DD10 asked if she could go get the mail. She was expecting a letter from a penpal. I agreed, and she returned with the mail as well as a package that was, apparently small enough to be jammed into our mailbox. It has a smiley face sticker on it, which made me smile as well. I knew what it was . . . . .


BIG GIVE TIME!

I did my best to explain the Big Give to them and essentially told them that these gifts were given to us by people out of the kindness of their hearts because they want to add a little extra pixie dust to Wish Trips. I think they get it!

I told the girls they could open it once all the homework was done. My dear sweet Kennedy, the pokey little puppy, put her pencil in overdrive and finished her cursive "K" worksheet lickety split!

In the meantime, Bella couldn't wait to open the package once I told her it was something for her Wish Trip!

Hmmmm . . I wonder what it is? The suspense was more than she could bear!

maybe I can tell by shaking it? does it make any noise?

Finally Kennedy finished! They tore open the box!

And peered inside . . . .

and found a card! We have a "must read card before seeing gift' rule in our house. So AJ reads: Have a super great Disney trip! Enjoy your bows and there sould be a few matching things arriving soon! ~Kelly Watson

LOOK! Soooo cute Mickey Mouse bows (with Animal print for Animal Kingdom!)

And headbands for AJ who thinks she's too old to wear haribows anymore!

Another bow - Christmas themed with Mickey Mouse! Kennedy was excited too! (and very happy to be done with her homework!)

Aren't they adorable?!?! The bows, and the girls! The bows were made by a wonderful lady named Kelly Watson. I don't know her DISBoards name though She has a website - www.acrystalgarden.com

So darn cute! AJ figured from the note inside that more would be coming! I can't wait to see what will accompany these adorable accessories!

Yep, I lost an entire week in there somewhere! I have no idea where it went !

I hadn't even considered the potential spillage, but that is yet another good reason for me to skip packing toiletries. We can find toothbrushes, travel sized toothpaste and hair 'stuff', and disposable razors and other things that are inexpensive over at WallyWorld. We have to go there to get Bella's food for the week anyway so we may as well make things easier on ourselves.

I think it is a little too big because today's package fit in as well. I know better now however and I am checking the mail after it comes instead of waiting until evening. More matchy? I can't wait! Do you happen to know Kelly's DIS name?

aw, thanks! The girls love their bows. There was a period of time for 3 months straight where Bella would refuse to leave the house without a bow in her hair! She's a little better about it now, but still likes to wear "pretties" in her hair whenever she can!
