We are considering doing a fairfield timeshare presentation for 3 nights accomodation, 2 park tickets and a $25 food gift certificate. The only reason I am considering doing this is so that we could stay at the Poly for the last 4 nights and DH wouldn't have a heart attack over the final room bill.

Has anyone done one of these presentations? Are they a hard sell? We will have our 2 kids with us (5 & 3). Did anyone else take their small kids with them? Should I just forget this and find other accomodations for a few nights?

Thanks!

they are hard sell - your kids will be entertained.

just make sure they understand up front that you are NOT buying and don't give in - this is one of the worst - because they try to make you feel guilty....

don't they are wasting your time - not the other way around!!!

First of all, let me state that the reason you are there is so they can SELL you a timeshare. Some of the salesmen can get pushy and the resorts are lovely so its easy to get tempted........One thing most people dont know about is Floridas real estate laws. You have 72 hours to change your mind and if you do you will get a complete refund. What we did is took the tour said we loved where do we sign, signed right away. Total amount of time less than 1 hour. Then when our free days were done and we were leaving we just said we changed our minds. They ripped up our check and documents and gave it back. Imoral? yes, Illeagal? no.........Have a nice trip.......TAZ

Thanks for the info! We definately know we won't be buying and beleive me my DH is a pro at saying no!

Just one more question, do they transport you to the site or can you drive yourself? I don't want to be a their mercy to take us back.

Thanks again!

I did this maybe 1 or 2 years ago, the accomodations they put me in was a Ramada on Hwy 192 - this place was absolutely DISGUSTING, old dingy dark almost shag like carpeting, sticky tile in the bathroom, just GROSS. They are a hard sell & you may not just be able to get up & leave from the presentation at the 90 minute mark. They actually took me by shuttle to the property they wanted me to buy in & of course I could not leave until I got back to the reception center. I had to clearly state over & over that I have fulfilled my 90 minute obligation to them & that I was leaving, my sales person tried to bring over her manager, I told her not to bother, I was leaving. Got my voucher & was outta there but still had to put up with the nasty room as we did not make other accomodations & I had to purchase my package anyway so I would have been outta money if I stayed elsewhere, thankfully we were only in the room long enough to sleep & shower. Definatly not a place to hang out in.

florida laws allows 10 days to get out of a timeshare contract - so you have more than 72 hours - not matter what the salespeople tell you.
