Hi!

Have our trip narrowed down to two choices, Fairfield Inn Anaheim or CCI.
It is our 15 year old daughter and myself and have just a few questions.

1.) Is there a shuttle from Fairfield Inn and how often does it run? How far is
the walk from Fairfield to DL?

2.) Is there a breakfast available at Fairfield? Opinions, please.

3.) Do you enter your rooms at Fairfield from the inside or outside?

4.) If you have stayed at both, preference and big reason why.

This will probably be our only trip to DL and I haven't been in over 35 years and just would like everything to be perfect!

Thanks for your help.

I haven't stayed at either, but I do have an opinion. I would pick the CCI hands down for these reasons:

Free dedicated shuttle to/from the park every 30 minutes. (It's an easy walk, but at the end of the day you'll be lookin for this shuttle!)

Better cont breakfast than most

Nicer beds

Cozier rooms

Rated #1 hotel in Anaheim on tripadvisor.com. Even better than the resort property hotels!

I have always wanted to stay at the CCI, I just have a hard time fitting my family of five in their smallish rooms.

I don't know CCI, but am a fan of the Fairfield. There's really no need for a shuttle as it's a 5-10 minute walk to the gates.

Breakfast I don't recall being free, but there are options, including the diner right in front (in the parking lot, which also does room service).

You enter the rooms from the outside. My trip there my window and door faced Space Mountain and I could see the monorail running from both.

Hi,

We have stayed at both hotels and I really like them both, so either place would be great.

The walking distance from both hotels to the main gate are about the same. Approx 10 min.

The parking is free at both places.

There is a McD's next door and a restaurant right in front of the Fairfield called Millies, a good place to eat, however no complimentary breakfast. There is also a Pizza Hut right inside the hotel. CCI Also has nearby places to eat. and they do have a breakfast buffet. The pizza place across is great.

The rooms at both hotels are accessed from the outside.

The rooms at the CCI are a bit smaller but cozy and really nice. The beds at both are comfy. If you get a higher up floor at the Fairfield facing the park you get a spectacular view of the fireworks and both parks.

We have stayed at both, and I pick the CCI, withoout hesitation.

Why? Both are roughly the same price, but:
The CCI has a shuttle, Fairfield does not
The CCI has a free breakfast, Fairfield does not
The rooms are smaller at the CCI, but not by that much, and they are decorated nicer.
The CCI has a childrens wading pool and the grounds around the hotel and pool are much nicer.

We stayed at the Fairfield in Dec. 05. We have stayed at the CCI twice as a family, and once as just adults (all between Mar 06- May 07).

In March when my DH surprised with a last minute trip, we stayed at the Fairfield Inn and thought it was really great! Love that it was such a quick walk...literally five minutes for us. No free breakfast, but there are tons of places to eat around there.

We usually stay at the Fairfield Inn. It is so great. The rooms are comfy, the walk to the park is super short, there are losts of places to eat, and did I mention that the walk is short? I'm not exactly in the best of shape, but I did it easily.

We love CCI for reasons mentioned above, with that being said however we've never stayed at Fairfield Inn. If you decide on CCI I know you won't regret it.

Hey,
Just returned yesterday 5/30 from the Fairfiled. This is my second time and last time I would stay there. It is definately a convient walk to the park but the rooms are a little run down. They are in major need of a rehab. The beds were comfy but in all the room is crying for help. I don't know what the CCI hotel is but I would like to.
Good Luck
Kerry

I don't know what the CCI hotel is but I would like to.

www.candycaneinn.net Its a cute little motel, that is very well cared for. It is still owned by the original family that had it built in 1956. The original owner is in his 80's and his son owns it now. They have a great shuttle (nice air conditioned bus) that runs every 1/2 hour- so even though its close, you dont have to walk if you dont want to.

Haven't stayed at either but the Fairfield is definitely closer. CCI has a very loyal fan base and is the Trip Advisors number 1 Anaheim hotel. I would take the Trip Advisor rating with a pinch of salt, there are many comments on Trip Advisor from people who stayed and wondered what all the rave was about. There is a great deal of speculation that CCI is writing its own postings to boost its ratings. Friends of ours stayed there and were unimpressed prefering our Hotel (Carousel Inn) which was number 22 on TA but quieter and bigger rooms, closer to DL (5 min walk), better breakfast and best of all cheaper! The Fairfield is about 10 min walk with CCI about 20, CCI has a shuttle that runs every 30 min. CCI pool is too small for Adults don't know about Fairfield. If 10 mins not too far then you might consider HoJos I haven't heard too many that weren't satisfied there, they have a great Pool complex. Carousel has small roof top pool which is fine for Adults and the rooms include a microwave and a decent sized fridge and freezer. At the end of the day you are not going to Anaheim for the Hotel room or the pool, for us the decision was primarily location and easy walking distance to DL.

Stayed at CCI in Sept. 2006 and at Fairfield Inn this past Mother's Day weekend.

I pretty much have the same things to say as everyone else, but I don't think our walks from CCI was 20 minutes. For us it was more like 10-15 minutes, but rarely 15 minutes, I remember timing our family one morning [from hotel to the line to enter the park].

I would pick CCI next time because of the BREAKFAST! [objective]
Overall, my experience at CCI was just nicer, cozier, friendlier. [subjective]

I think the walk time is quite subjective as to what you are classing as getting there. Our friends timed it from leaving the room to getting to Security check and found it was 15 to 20 mins depending on how tired you were and the crosswalk, our time at CI was 5 - 7 min depending on crosswalk wait. It doesn't seem like much but they found it significant especially if they were coming out for lunch and dinner. They found the shuttle was good but a pain to have to wait for in the hot sun and nusiance having to plan your day around the shuttle times.

Never stayed at Faifield.

Stayed at CCI twice. Jan 06 and May 06. Can't say enough positive things about the place. Breakfast is great and they have no problem with you grabbing extra for snacks later in the day. The shuttle is awesome later in the day when your feet hurt! But the walk is super easy and really nice. The daylilies along the way are gorgeous and it is a great opportunity to give the kids a long leash before you actually get to the parks. But, 15 isn't the same as 7 and 9. The rooms are really nice for a motel, the beds are comfy and the service was great. The grounds are immaculately kept, and the pool, while small, is also kept well. Clean and appropriate temps. I have always believed that CCI is getting honest reviews on Tripadvisor. The only reason we aren't staying there this year is b/c we have mom with us and they don't take five guests.

Truely its a winner!

Just got back from our 5 night stay at the Candy Cane Inn & we absolutley loved it there. We will stay there again next time we visit Disneyland. I won't repeat everything the others said about it but I agree with it all!

I can not comment in the other place mentioned as we have not stayed there.

I haven't stayed at either, but for us location is key. 10-15 minutes is okay when were going back to somewhere like the DLH. For that kind of a walk back it better be really nice. I also feel safer walking DTD back to our room for that long. Not so much on Harbor at night, JMO though. Also my feet can REALLY hurt after a few days at the park, for me I'm sure that 10 minutes could easily turn in to 20. We are also not fast walkers! Waiting for shuttles is also something were not fond of. So CCI would be out for us.

We actually were looking in to the Fairfield. We have friends that always stay there and liked it very much. Quick walk, clean ect.. But we picked the Carousel Inn. It was cheaper. Also has good reviews on Trip Advisor (that the management answers too). Seems to offer a decent breakfast, and you can't beat the 5 minute walk. But if I'm going to stay at a motel, location is going to be most important to us.

But the thing about the CCI shuttle is that it is entirely unnecessary, it's a luxury. If you don't want to wait for it, it's the same distance as the Fairfield. About 10 minutes give or take depending on your pace. :thumbsup2

:confused3 I'm not sure about the times since I haven't stayed at either. We have stayed at the Castle Inn which is slightly closer then CCI, and we never walked to the park from there. LOL Just seemed like more then 10 minutes for us, especially once my feet were hurting! I like either VERY close (like the right across the street 5 minutes) or very nice and onsite with a 10 minute walk. Being that close also seems safer to me, especially late at night. From what I've seen in pictures the CCI looks nice, but IMO not worth the extra walk, when there are a lot of closer motels. Just personal preference I suppose! :goodvibes

I have stayed at both and would definitely choose the CCI. The rooms are very nice and have comfy beds, the staff is helpful and polite, the pool area is attractive and had plenty of lounges etc when we stayed, the breakfast is a terrific bonus in the AM (grab and go!), and the shuttle is a nice perk if you are just too tired at the end of the day to walk back. I have never used the shuttle myself but others in our party used it when we went last year in both the morning and evening. I liked the Fairfield just fine....just preferred the CCI.
