I consider myself a moderate conservative, and yes, I went and saw it last night. I actually enjoyed it. It was well done and the pace was really excellent. Alot of rather dry information presented in a very entertaining way.

I'm not a big fan of Michael Moore, but I must admit, he did make a good film. Better than "Bowling for Columbine" IMHO.

Any other conservatives see it?

No, but then I rarely see any movies. If I was a movie goer, I would skip this one, don't like the guy.

You guys think like DH, he would rather eat nuclear waste than give one penny to Michael Moore. Luckily, my liberal mom paid for my ticket.:p

In the hopes it would sway you?

Nope, don't have any plan to see any of his movies.

I had dinner with a childhood friend last night - she used to
be a liberal. She suprised me with her reaction to F9/11 as
she was incensed by it. Quickly, she told me how ridiculous
she thought it was for MM to make fun of GWB getting his hair
combed prior to addressing the nation - all politicians get that
done. She didn't realize that the point of that group of clips was
the fact that GWB was trivializing what he was about to do-tell
the country we were at war-by mugging for the camera and nearly going on camera laughing for that momentous announcement. She thought it was about the hair dresser!!!
I haven't been one of those people saying "see it" to my conservative friends. It's obvious that if one doesn't get it without
seeing the film; lots will be missed while seeing the film even
though to a liberal it is quite obvious. The rare conservative will
see if for what it is.

Translation: Conservatives are too stupid to see the truth - only the enlightened liberal intelligentsia can really appreciate and understand the "facts" presented in the film.

I don't have to see it now as it's been made clear that, as a conservative, I'm too stupid to understand the little nuances in this particular "documentary."

Michael Moore can take his millions from the "enlightened." I'll invest my $8.00 in something meaningful.

Thanks for helping me to make my decision!

My husband (very conservative) says the only way he would see this movie is if he paid for a ticket for a different movie and then snuck in to see it.
He refuses to let MM get a penny of his money.

I said nothing about anyone being stupid-those were your
words. Intelligence has nothing to do with it; it's political posturing emotionally that sends us all down different paths
intellectually. My friend is certainly not stupid. She graduated
Smith College suma cum laude and went on to get her Masters
from Yale in Hospital Admin as well as a Doctorate from Columbia.
If you feel stupid, I'm sorry for you but I had nothing to do with it.
:sunny:

I see someone else here called you stupid. Again, that was NOT
me!

It's an incredible bit of filmmaking.

and if you haven't sen it, you can't refute what the movie says or does not say.

of course, you can talk about issues raised by the film -- such as Iraq or 9/11, but you can't really say anything about the film -- pro or con --without having seen it for yourself.

Then, perhaps, you'd like to clarify this statement:

I haven't been one of those people saying "see it" to my conservative friends. It's obvious that if one doesn't get it without seeing the film; lots will be missed while seeing the film even though to a liberal it is quite obvious. The rare conservative will see if for what it is.

I read it the same way AFR did--that conservatives wouldn't get it even if the saw the film. Unlike liberals who will immediately understand the nuances. Since liberals will "get it" quickly, that must mean that conservatives are less able to understand--
i.e. "stupid."

My friend is certainly not stupid. She graduated
Smith College suma cum laude and went on to get her Masters
from Yale in Hospital Admin as well as a Doctorate from Columbia.

Your story certainly doesn't make your friend sound very bright. You make her sound...well...kind of...stupid. You seem to find it funny that she didn't interpret the movie in the same way liberals would--which, of course is the correct and only way to interpret it.

I see someone else here called you stupid. Again, that was NOT me!

{Sigh}Let me explain for you: You implied it. AFR was interpreting YOUR statement the same way I did. She didn't call anyone stupid.

Have not seen it; don't plan to waste my money on it.

Another vote for your DH. I like the nuclear waste analogy by the way.
