F&WF...waiting for dates and waitlisting for BWV!

Well, I knew we were going down during F&WF, but I honestly hadn't done much research as to what goes on at F&WF. So today I read another thread about folks waiting for events to be announced and tickets to go on sale for the weekly PftS. That sparked me to go out and start looking around and I then started reading about all the stuff that goes on and was like... wow... perhaps I should have checked into this a bit further a few months ago..

I'm not a big pre-planner! (I guess DVC will be helping me change that)...

Anyway, now I'm going to be checking for the dates and tickets, and I even called to waitlist for a studio (any view) at BWV. I'm currently booked at OKW and will be fine if nothing comes up (which I'm pretty sure the whole week won't come thru), but I figured I'd try because I'd prefer to stumble back from Epcot rather than trying to stumble onto a bus and possibly have to stand while riding back to OKW... :drinking1 :thumbsup2

The DIS Dining has lots of info. Some events can be booked July 25th other not until July 31st. I'll be up early with the phone preprogramed!

My annual visit to the Food and WIne Fest is the ONE time I do try to plan in advance. I have my BCV room all booked. (VERY easy to stumble home LOL!)

Even just a bit under 11 months out, we were waitlisted for a BWV standard studio. The waitlist came through within a month, but there are lots of BWV owners who plan to stay at BWV for F&W. I did book another SV studio and a 2-bedroom right away at 11 months and no waitlist was needed.

Bobbi :)

LOL! We went to the Sam Adam's Brewer's Dinner two years ago, and we literally stumbled back to BCV (in fact DH may have gotten lost in the woods on the way- it's all a bit of a blur). :drinking1

vascubaguy, we're there the same week you are this year (we made ressies at BCV 11 months out), so if your waitlist doesn't come through you're welcome to stumble back to BCV with us until you can manage the trek to OKW. Just don't blame me if you end up lost in the woods! ;)

Why is the Party of the Senses on SUNDAYs this year? :confused3

Dang!

I was looking forward to attending this year! :furious: Now I can't!

Thanks! Nothing like having "support" without having to go to "meetings"! :drinking1 :teeth:

Oh neato, it's on Sundays now?!! I was just getting disappointed because I saw that it was previously on Saturday's. I was going to start looking to see if I could change things around and arrive a day early so I could go to the PotS... Otherwise I would have missed it.... Since it's such a big hit, they should do it Friday,Saturday, AND Sunday!

How did you find out that the Party for the Senses would be on Sundays this year?

I'd be curious to know too, I just called and a CM told me they couldn't pull up any of the dates. Of course I also know that if I called back that I might likely get a different response... (but I haven't called back yet)... :confused3

I don't wanna get my hopes up for nothing... :goodvibes

Opposite reaction from me. I've had my BCV res. for the Saturday night since 9 am 11 months out. I'm sure I won't be able to change it. I couldn't find '06 dates either and wonder if someone is going by a schedule with last year's dates. Then it would look like Senses was moved to Sunday. It's a great event though and you definitely don't want to drive home. It isn't just the wine - I was really careful (or so I thought) not to over eat but it catches up with you.

In 2005, the date was July 25. As far as I know, for 2006, the date will be July 31 for all F&W Festival events.

I assume people are looking at http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/guides/epcot/events/index.htm#hm-FW-link which shows the dining event dates for 2005, not for 2006. Only the overall dates and concert dates are for 2006.

As far as I know, none of the dining event dates for 2006 have been released.

I found the information on the main board here under DIS Dining!

I hope that I'm reading it wrong since my waitlist for BCV came thru for me so that I could stagger, I mean meander, my way back without having to go too far! :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Well, whatever, F&W Festivities no matter what! I still can enjoy my FairyTale! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Ok, now that it is further in the day and my full alotment of caffeine, I believe that there is a disclaimer at the begining of the information saying that they were showing 2005!

There is still hope! For the Party of the Senses, not me! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
