F&W Fest on Oct. 1st?

I just realized that my itenerary puts us in Epcot on October 1st, the 1st official day of the F&W Fest. Is this a bad idea? Will it be mobbed with people since it's the 1st day of the fest? Anyone there on the 1st day last year that can report on the crowd size?

I was there last year and it was not at all crowded. This year opening day lands on a Friday so it should be OK. Sat. and Sun. alot of locals will be there. Later in the day you may see an increase in the crowds since it is a Fri. night and many may want to see Kool and the Gang (I believe that is the concert that weekend) So if you want to see them you should probably plan on catching the first concert at 5:45. I don't know what their following is like, but I do know that with some other performers if they have a huge following.......Chubby Checker,Beach Boys people tend to line up quite early. You will have a great time!
