I have been having issues with a gooey like feeling in my eyes. There has occasionally been a little bit of white slimy goo that comes out. This has just started happening since I got contacts. I have had pink eye A LOT before and it doesn’t feel like pink eye. My lower lids are red inside but I figured that was from the contacts (since it takes me around 20 tries to get both in). So the question is, can I keep wearing my contacts and what cause this goo? I have a appoiment with the eye doc tomorrow but was just curious for tonight.

I would take the contacts out. You may have scratched your cornea or something and now it is infected.. thus the eye goo. It has to do with your body's immune system reacting to whatever is going on. Plus you said it took you 20 times to get them in.. your eyes are probably swollen too. It would probably be good to let your eyes rest. One thought, have you recently changed eye makeup or used really old eye makeup? If you wear eye make up you should probably get a new tube of mascara or a new eye pencil after you have a bout of pink eye!
Hope you feel better soon!:flower3:

I dont wear makeup. Thanks for the ideas of what it could be. I bet I scratched my eye with my nails. Back to wearing glasses for now

If it's bothering you, ie painful, you could do a warm compress.. if you hadn't already thought of that.

I get the same thing in both eyes, it is allergies according to my eye doctor. I have also been wearing contacts for over 10 years and it is slightly worse with contacts but I also get them when I wear glasses. Ask your eye Dr about a Rx call Pataday, it helps me a lot.

Allergies may be it, cause I started having issues after a car fire behind our house that had a ton of smoke (im alerigic to smoke)

It's called calcium deposits. My eyes are extremely dry. So the calcium deposits build up more and faster. I guess the eyes were so dry that they don't flush away the calcium. Each time, after a few hours of wearing contacts, I actually had to take them out and clean them to remove the white film, then reinsert.

Thankfully, I got Lasik eye surgery. No more contacts! Still dry eyes, but now I only need drops a few times a day. :woohoo:
