I have contacts. But I must tell you...my vision is atrocious! I think I'm near-sighted and far-sighted, because I can't see a person right in front of me, and I can't see a street sign far away. I got glasses when I was about 13, and really couldn't stand them. But that's just me. I can see why people wouldn't be too fond of contacts. So I got my own contacts at 14, because I just thought it would be for me. Sure enough, I love them. I still keep a pair of glasses that I wear occasionally. But some people love glasses, and some people love contacts. Everyone's different. Anyways, I'm pretty sure you'll look great in yours! Find a pair you love, and gook luck

How many here have glasses?
I so don't want them.

I had to wear glasses from age 5 to age 8. Then I got contacts. So pretty much you'll wear your glasses for awhile and then most likely be able to get contacts. And if not glasses aren't THAT bad.

I have some. Liz Claiborne ones. They're cute, I'm not crazy about them, but I'll where them. I only wear them for watching tv, going to the movies and copying notes in class. I should wear them for general use (like shopping or just milling around), but I find I need to take them off to read or to use the pc (or to eat, I just have an issue with eating with them on).

I'm hoping to get contacts later in 2008, but I need to prove to my parents that I'm going to wear the glasses they paid tons of money on.

do glasses make your eyes lazy or weaken them. one of the kids at school say that they can make your eyes lazy and eventually become worse. The doctor I saw today said that that is not true.

Well lets look at this, who's more reliable? I random kid or a proffesional eye doctor?

I have glasses and contacts. They're not bad, they get annoying sometimes but its much better than not being able to see at all.

Well I have glasses, too. It all started some years ago in 5th grade when they told me that I needed some and so I got them. Err, the kids started teasing me so I stopped wearing them and I told my mom that they broke. She told me that she wasn't getting new ones for me, just like I thoght she would...

Then, 2 years later, when I came back from my summer camp trip in Mexico, I decided to finally go back to the doc's office and get an appointment after getting terribly embarrassed in front of my friends over there. The doctor told me that I really really needed glasses. I got a nice pair of black bebe glasses and kids at school started telling me that I looked better in glasses.

Btw, I'm nearsighted.

I wear glasses 85% of the time. I have astigmatism, so it's necassary. My eye sight it awful.

I did have contacts til about July when my then current pair ripped and they didn't have any of mine in stock. Since then I've just wore glasses, they're not so bad.

I'm going to the eye-doctor again soon to get some rockin' new glasses, or contacts (not sure yet).

I've been wearing them since second grade, trust me, they're not so bad!

i wear glasses and contacts.. dont worry, its not bad at all to have it.. more than half of the world needs glasses lol, so its nothing to be sad about ... plus glasses add a look of sophistication to people

I had to get glasses in kindergarten. I'm near sighted.

I got contacts in 3rd grade (everyone is always so surprised when I tell them that). Mainly because my eyes kept on getting worse, and the eye doctor said contacts would help it slow down.

I'm like seriously blind (not literally, but close. Anbd my eyes are just getting worse). -6.50 each eye. Probably more, it's been a few months since my last checkup.

I wear Acuve Oyasis, they're comfy .

I don't call it an optician.. just an optometrist.

I've heard both optician and optometrist.

And I got glasses in... first grade?
But I only used them for reading the board every once in a while, and I barely ever used them.
I only started to need them all the time in sixth grade, which is when I got contacts.

And I can still see without them in, it's just a little fuzzy.
-2.00 in my left, -2.25 in my right.

i got glasses in third drade for just distances and then i stopped wearing them cause they got lost and my eye sight got really bad. so now i have to wear them for everything and im pretty much blind
luckily, tho, i have contacts

I started wearing glasses when I was 3 because I had a cross-eye.
I got contacts in 4th grade and they made my eye stronger so now it's not crossed anymore.
I still wear contacts thooo.
