Extremely Rude Guests

Even though they are annoying, sometimes I like to hear stories about encounters with extremely rude guests. It can be funny to just see how crazy people can get!

We used to let people throwing fits really annoy us and could ruin our day:

A thing my family likes to do to pass the time in the park (while in line or walking around) is we try to rank peoples "breakdowns".....

1 = annoyed
5 = about to lose it
10= Mt. St. Helen's Exploding

We found that this makes us not let people throwing fits ruin our vacation. We kinda make it our entertainment.

Not sure how rude this is as it was only directed at "Disney" and not to/at a person but DH and I thought it was so funny we still 5 years later laugh about it. Let me preface by saying part of what was funny is the accent, not because we all don't have one, but because my west coast accent is what I'm used to so a NY accent is unique on my ears - that's all.

So DH and I were at Epcot during flower and garden, near Ellen's. It was not croweded at all, early morning. We got to a coffee cart for a pastry and mocha and what looked like 2 parents (60s ish) and their daughter (40s ish) start going on about how the birds are filthy and "ack they're flying all over the place." and "rats with wings" etc.

We weren't really evesdropping but they were right there. They must have talked (picture SNL's "tawk amongst youwselves" sketch) for 10 minutes - getting louder and gesturing more and angrier and angrier to eachother - before exclaiming, "You'd think Disney would do something about these birds." (there were pastry crumbs and the birds ate them off the sidewalk.

It could have been an SNL sketch on it own!

we have a running joke in my family ...

a woman was trying to explain to a manager how she was so angry, she said "I am so piss offed!"

Now my family uses "piss offed" instead of "pissed off" ... only in private though -- we're very polite in public

We were leaving MK before Wishes, while walking to the exit, it was crazy packed, I heard this lady (well I wouldn't call her a lady)this female, using very bad and loud language about the crowd she was stuck in. Wasn't very nice considering all the children who were around.

Other story: 2 years ago, my DH was pushing DS in stroller to the busstop, we were leaving MK, I was 10-15 feet behind him with my DN, anyway my son's pirate hat fell out of the stroller basket,( I saw it when it fell out) my DH didn't notice it, this man behind DH but in front of me, picked up the hat, brushed it off and was going to keep it, He was with 2 other adults, no kids, not that, that would matter, but what was an adult going to do with a child's pirate hat, gimmie a break, I wanted to be ugly, but its not in me, so I went up to him and said, Oh, thanks, that's my son's he just dropped it, and I took it back, He just said OK.

Seen, a few others, but mostly just parents that are fed up with cranky kids.

Well, I am sure this guest thought we where the rude ones but we really weren't. We were in a short line at The Magic of Disney Animation. The CM was trying to pack in the waiting area before they open the doors to seating asking us to fill up all empty spaces. My mom and I moved up passing a few guests when one man delibertaly stepped in front of my husband and kids. He said that he was not going to let anyone cut in front of him. I kindly explained to him that the CM asked us to move there but he still would not move. He just gave me a dirty look. In the end it didnt matter. I think he was just having a bad day as later we were in line to see the UP characters and some teens where in front of him and said something to him. He just gave them dirty looks.

I have seen rude people but I just try to go the other way. It's easier.

On a late summer trip 6 or so years ago we were there when the kids from the other Americas were there... with the tour groups that have flags..
Anyway, they kept cutting in line, and finally I got tired of it. One would get in line, and at the last loop of the line (Peter Pan, I think, or Pooh?) a ton would get in line in front of us. They said they were "saving" the space for their friends. About the 3rd ride and time this happened my kids were not happy, I was not happy and I told the visitors in front of us that had saved spaces for a dozen or so friends that they could NOT do that. They said"No English"... Now I was fairly sure that group did speak some english. So I said'OH MY, look at that giant sprider on that girls back going into her hair!" or somesuch thing, She screamed, get it off. NO english my left behind cheek! Next time it happened I did the same kinda thing, only told my GF it was to bad the girl had "started" with the white shorts she almost was wearing...
They were NOT happy, but even more unhappy when I told the CM that over a dozen of them had line jumped just befor they loaded.
And yea, I did feel kinda like I was the ugly guest. But the lines that trip were very, very long. And I had 3 kids under 11 yo with me. I'm not proud of it but it worked...

We were trapped in a crowd at SpectroMagic last week, on the bridge from Mad Tea Party to the hub. It was packed, there was NO room to move and yet people kept trying to push their way forward. One guy at the front decides he can't take it so has his wife, 3 kids and stroller and tries to come backwards. So people try to move, then his wife says no, we're staying. So now they are stopped midway with people on their tiptoes trying to let them by. They are mad at the crowd cuz they can't get thru. Finally decide to leave, so the guy lets his 4 year old start ramming the stroller thru the crowd to get out!! I know it is exasperating in the crowd, believe me, we were getting shoved by grown men. But put the kid in the stroller and try your best to get some sympathy from the crowd so they let you out, don't just let the kid run into people with the stroller.

We were in the line for Jungle Cruise and almost right after us, they were cutting off part of the line (less walking for everyone) and when we were at the end of the line to get on the ride, there was this family going off on the poor CM collecting FPs and telling everyone where to stand about how it's not fair that they had to wait in line and all the people with FPs get to get on the ride. The CM handled the situation very well and explained the FPs to them several times and also explained to them several times that while the line hasn't moved in a while, their wait time won't be longer because they're just making the walking part of the line shorter. They just mouthed off on her the whole time. Poor CM.

During high school I worked parade audience control at MK near the castle on the TL side. There are several trees near the edge of the rose garden that guests that we nick-named "monkeys" would jump the fence and climb nightly. It was often my job to go fish them out of the trees. I have to admit that most guests would climb down and go back over the fence when asked. But...One night a man refused to get down and I told him that I would call security he did the whole.. I paid $10,000 to come here to see this parade (a cast member's favorite claim) and I explained to him that he was welcome to watch the parade in one of the parade viewing areas but it was not safe for him to be in the tree. I radioed security and while I was waiting for them he began cursing and spitting (yes spitting..) at me. When security finally got him down he looked at me and said "what's your name, I'm going to get you fired" when I replied Holly he grabbed my name tag and ripped it off my shirt. By this time a few of the other guests who had witnessed the whole event jumped over the fence at the guy and told him what I couldn't (being on the clock and all) and needless to say the man was escorted from the park. Definitely the rudest guest I ever encountered (and I met a lot more once I transferred to guest relations)!

WOW! I'm so sorry that happened to you. I hate when people are mean to CMs just trying to do their jobs. It's really pretty cowardly when you think about it, because they know the CM isn't allowed to say anything. I saw this at Epcot when the line for Aladdin and Jasmine got cut off in. The mom was SO mean and abusive to the CM, I swear I was about to jump into it. But I looked at the CM, so calm and collected, the other mom's DD who was mortified, and my own DD, and held it in. Well, I did make one comment. Man, I really wanted to give it to her, though!

This person wasn't rude to me, but he was very rude.....

Last time I was there I was walking to Big Thunder Mountain when I see a dad yelling at his 8 year old daughter in Italian or something because she had wandered off. The girl started crying and then her dad hit her right across the face. Then some onlookers rushed in to help the poor girl. It was a bad situation....

I have to remember this when someone tells me "No English".

The only time I really got upset about rudeness was in the line for Soarin. We had been waiting about 30 minutes already. This man walks up talking on his cell phone acting like he is looking for someone up ahead. He stops in front of us, but to the side. Eventually his wife, son, and daughter join him. Obviously he pretended to look for someone and just jumped in line. I made a point to not let him in front of me. Later the daughter, probably 16 or older, tried to strike up a conversation with me and I just gave her short answers, "yes" or "no". What I wanted to tell her was, "I would love to discuss Hidden Mickey's with you, but I'm mad that you and your family just cut in this line!" I just had never seen a family do that, kids yes, Mom and Dad though.
