Yep, Florida holidays are expensive.

If you buy the Magic Your Way Disney tickets, especially if you are planning on returning in the future they can save you money if you buy the hopper/non expiry one's.
In theory they can last for more than one holiday, we still have 4 days left on our 10 ticket after 2 holidays use.

Similar with Universal, the Annual passes are extremely cheap at $179 and can offer good value for money with the benefits, including free parking and merchandise discounts.
Renewal price of the ticket is only $99 - but again, guess you need to go every year to make best use , which like you say with the costs can be difficult to justify.

yeah, we visit florida every two years, always last two weeks due to school term time. our last passes we used perviously. only buying 7 day this time. we are looking at trying somewhere different next time (2010). but then again we always say that and end up returning to disney.

oh and i forgot about the new seaworld water park aquatica. what prices we looking at for that????:confused3

Does add up but we have AP's for everything now.
4 Disney Parks, 2 Universal Parks, Seaworld and Busch gardens.
Total for 3 adults costs just over £1,000 but in the current year we will use them for 50 days, but that includes parking at all parks, things like free desserts in Seaworld, lots of discounts, free events, priority standing areas etc etc. even got $100pp discount at Discovery cove one year.
Can be even better value if you use for Discounts on Disney Hotels and Dining but we don't.
So the answer is go more than once a year, get more value from your tickets:lmao:

Probably between $30 and $40 - they will no doubt have a Sea World/Aquatica combined ticket and generally SW always have good offers on their ticket prices.

once a year...... i wish i could afford to. £2000 hol £1600 tickets plus £2000 spending..

I know this is hearasy on here :rotfl: but you can go to Florida and NOT go to the parks! there is a wonderful country out there away from the parks. We have actually in the past, stayed at Carribean beach and did not go to either WDW parks or US parks. We visited other areas of Florida.

Do you not get free entry in to Sea world with this ticket
I am not 100% sure but I think i read someone trip report saying they got it for a full week
we done sea world on a one day entry this year 3 adults and 1 child @ $260

Yes Jackie you get 7 days free entry to either Sea World or Busch Gardens, whichever you choose basically.

Yes it is expensive but money well spent.:) The only thing I always think is wrong is charging kids adult prices.

oh you are right there.take £2000 spending money, we do buy lots of clothes. but the last thing you want is to start counting pennies...

i totally agree with the ticket prices, my son is 10 now and we need adults tickets for him next year. i understand that at 9 they are getting ready for the big rides, but there are still alot of kids still scared of them and paying that price just for little peter pan rides is bad. :confused3

Just a thought and I realize you probably don't need any more days so it probably won't be worth it for your family but do you know about the 14 day Ultimate ticket? Price for 3 adults and 1 child is coming up at 640 pounds and includes the Disney water parks and Disney Quest so if you were looking to stay longer it would be a great deal :) .

Maybe it should go on height rather than age. But then our DS would have been paying adult price since around age 7, he is 12 now and 5'10":lmao:
To be honest I think it should be free for under 6's then same price for everyone else, surely eveyone over about age 6 gets same enjoyment and value from Disney.

Will you really be able to fit everything in? We usually either do Universal OR Disney then SW or DC each trip. How abouy buying the Universal ticket that is on offer at the mment rather than the 5 park Flexi. I think Universal are doing a 7 day ticket for $85. Also check out the SW and DC thread as there are some discount codes on there too. If one member of your family buys a Disney AP you get free parking and other benifits too. including 10% off at the world of disney store at DTD.:)

We do tend to go each year atleast once - we have AP for Disney but dont have one for Universal.

Last year we saved $1800 off our accomodation at the Yacht Club with the AP discount! That more than pays for the 2 AP's! This year we are staying at the Dolphin for 10 nights as we got a great AP rate there!
