'Extras' Because it's my honeymoon??

we got a few extras for our honeymoon, it wasnt alot but since its wasnt expected it was nice, we got upgraded to pool view room at AKL and we got a signed picture of Mickey and Minnie in their safari getup and it said Happy Honeymoon. love mickey & Minnie put on our bed we we returned from the park the first day

Yes I saw them online at mouseshoppe (dotcom). I was thinking about ordering them, but maybe they'll suprise us with them when we arrive. (Doubt it.. I'll probably just buy them when I get there)

If you get them early, you can also personalize them. Or, you can have time to stretch the groom hat if your FDH has a normal size head (since they are really small). That is what we did.

Hey there DznyLvr2005 and congrats

We too are doing a disneymoon after we get married on Spetember 3 2005 (getting really close). We are staying at WL in a honeymoon suite (room) as well for a couple nights and then moving over to BC and start going to the parks. The one thing we did was asked coincerge to have the wedding ears in our room for when we get there and also have them embrodered. I thought it might be a nice touch for when we get there. We are driving down too and we find that it is half the fun. Well congrats again and have a magical honeymoon.

Congrats Explorer1977! You must let me know what suite you stayed in and how it was! If you don't mind, thanks!

Thats a good idea to have them in the room already when you get there. Who did you call to do that? I should do that too.
Wow driving from Canada? That's gotta take a long time. I'm driving out of New Jersey and it will take about 17 hours.
Congrats again...
Jamie

Congratulations to all of you Disneymooners! My DH and I had our Disneymoon back in November, 1998. We had the best time! We stayed at the Yacht Club, in a water view room with a beautiful view of the lake! I know that we didn't get a ton of extras, but that made the surprises more special. BTW, we did not do the bride and groom ears, but got matching Disney hats, and received a complimentary "hockey puck" dessert at the ESPN club when the server noticed and asked if it was our honeymoon. We also were given champagne at the Yachtsman. So, not tons of stuff, but we still had a magical stay! Best wishes! :flower:

Congratulations on your upcoming honeymoon. Make sure you wear the ears! We got lots of great perqs and if you don't expect anything it makes it wonderful when you get it. I think you'll love the WL, the honeymoon suites are not my favorite but the resort itself is.

We too had our HM in DW last Sept and we are returning for our 1st anniversary! I would go in with no expectations for anything special, and then you can be pleasantly surprised if anything does happen. We got two free desserts and were the stunt actors for the pre-show to the backstage pass ride in MGM. (DH wanted to kill me as he is very shy.) I wore the headband a lot in the parks. I thought it was so much fun just to be there with my new hubby. Before I went i heard a million ppl each say different things about what happened on their HMs and I went in with no expectations and it worked out!
Congratulations! Let me know how the WL HM suite is, we are staying there this Dec!

Oh I forgot to mention we ate at the California Grill and the man at the table next to us offered to pay for our dinner b/c we were HMing and his daughter had gotten married the same day! He was a little tipsy and I don't know if he knew what he was doing, but it was included in our Romance package anyway so we didn't accept.

Hey Jamie,

We will for sure let you know about which room we stayed in and all the great thing about it. For the ears I just emailed the Itererary Planning Office for Wl and they looked after it. I did later call them to make sure it was all looked after. I may even phone again before the wedding to just make sure. We have been planning this for a while and have some fun tings planned. But we just taking the first day or two to relax at the resort and do some low key things like some nice diners, cirque, and probably miniture golf.

Oh yeah or drive is not much further then yours. we have just a little over 19 hours driving time but are taking 2.5 days to do it

Michael

We got lots of extras on our honeymoon, but it's probably only because BOTH people have to be wearing the ears. We got to set the fireworks off at midnight on Pleasure Island, and we also got to grand marshall the parade at MGM. Both were the highlights of our trip. We also got free fastpasses, desserts, and other fun stuff!!!

Hey Jamie -

We will be honeymooning at WDW October 10-17. We're staying at the Dolphin, because we wanted a more adult experience than the other resorts offer. If I want to hear a curse word on HBO, I think the choice should be up to me. We'll still eat at the resort restaurants, but I'm still on the fence about the ears with the veil. The veil on the headband is just so long!

We've each been to WDW twice and DL once and are so excited, especially since the Food & Wine Festival will be going on at Epcot!

We live in NJ (right across the Hudson/commuter town) and are flying JetBlue. Their fares are phenomenal, if you want to save money and loads of time. We're leaving so early two days after our wedding, we just want to GET there after all this planning!!!

If you're wearing the ears, we'll be sure to say hello.

Hi Jaime - congrats on the upcoming wedding - dh and I honeymooned in WDW 7 years ago (Oct 4th 1998) - and we'll be there for this anniversary Oct 2-7th at the AKL. Unfortunatley we didn't get anything at all during our entire honeymoon - we stayed at POR (Dixie Landings - back then). My dh is from brooklyn, so there was NO WAY I was getting him to wear the mickey ears! My dh is also a NYPD sergeant - I feel your pain about the contract!!!! Have a terriffic honeymoon!!

I realized that I sounded alittle desperate for free stuff in my post. I just wondered what other peoples experiences were. Thanks for the info! Believe it or not, I literally spent over $5000 on this trip (ALOT OF MOOLAH for 10 days!) so I mean, it coudn't hurt for a little something extra in my room when I got there, ya know... :) :cool1:
Now if I can only get my future husband to wear the mickey groom hat..

Lots of people spend over $5K for a WDW vacation. We have spent about $40K for our DVC membership. There are multiple people at every resort who are celebrating their anniversary, honeymoon, birthday, etc. every day.

Undoubtedly, you will get special attention, especially if you dress the part with the bride and groom ears.

Congratulations to everyone that just got married...I will also be a newlywed in disney this coming October and would like to get the mouse ears...how do we get them?
Thanks,
Jeanine

We must have the same screen name. It's a good question how to get them. I hope someone replies. Are the pins enough or do you need ears? LOVE U WHEAT!

Wow... If I didn't love Disney so much I'd say "$750 a night, in 10 nights that's almost a down payment on a house!" I actually had to 'sell' an IRA I had to pay for our honeymoon. I figured it's worth it. Would I rather stay in a VALUE resort and hate it (I know I would because I know what the delux resorts are like!) or go all out probably for the last time before we have kids and absolutely love it. Plus my fiance being a NYPD officer doesn't help much either. Their new contract SUCKS! And I only work in a doctors office! And living in NYC doesn't help either! Everything is double the price!! :earseek: Wow I just totally got off subject.. LOL

Hi Disney Lover! Im an NYPD Partner, Spouse, Husband (whatever)... Of an NYPD officer also... lol. And yes their new contract SUCKS! We honeymooned their last decmeber, and will be back this decmeber for our 1 year anniversary. Did you try goign threw "vacation makers" threw the union. They got us a really good rate. We got GF last year for 10 days, for 3K, with air, and car. Be safe.

I saw all those Disney trips through their Union, but I wanted something different for the honeymoon. 40 days until the wedding.. That means 42 days until I hit Disney Soil! :)
