Extra Special Double Secret Fastpasses

Those golden fastpasses usually have restrictions. They won't tell you up front but usually they aren't good for 7DMT, Toy Story, or Soarin.
Mine had no restrictions and were used on all three rides you mention. On the app, you will be able to see a list of rides that are available.

I know this is a "zombie" thread of sorts but I am glad they are going back to the no strings style passes just making them digital. We haven't gotten ones from guest relations or anything like that but I know the DVC ones had restrictions when we used them last hopefully that has changed.

just for people reading this for the first time- Len Testa reported on one of his podcasts (can't remember if it was WDW Today or the Disney Dish) that multiple reports were if you turned down the fast passes you were offered free park admission- so don't always take that first offer!

I think this question has become more common on this board now than the "Can I use an extra day to park hop?". Similar to the answer to that question, there is an easy answer: go with easyWDW.

We were given a no strings for the whole group when my FILs lamb chops were under done not once but three times! Fourth time was the charm in that case! We were on DDP so refunding the meal would have just left them with an unused TS credit. We really didn't expect them to do anything but it was nice. Because there were 9 of us it was one pass for 3 and one for 6. We used the 3 on BTMR and the 6 on 7DMT. Some of the grandparents didn't care to ride anything where a FP was necessary so the kids got in a couple extra rides.

DVC used to hand them out like candy. I think they still do if you go listen to them speak for 30 minutes.

I really dislike the free fastpass as compensation. Disney have effectively invented a product to compensate guests who should receive proper compensation, at zero cost to Disney. Genius. In fact the only people really compensating you (and all the others) are the other guests who have to wait longer in line as the comps get on quicker. Disney should stop this practise and start offering proper compensation such as food, discounts, merchandise or, shock, cash. But they will carry on with a zero cost compensation model whilst people are willing to accept it.

Not to mention they are compensating you with what you used to be able to get for free in the parks before they changed to FP+.
