What do you do with the extra photos you take? I often have 10+ of an occasion, and if you only use maybe 5 or 6 what do you do with the others?

I use the extra photos in plastic sleeve protectors (acid free pvc) along with acid free paper & mount them w/ my cm photo splits.
I then put these sleeves into a 3 ring binder for each of my dd's.

My dd's LOVE their books. I have included the pages that were in the profile books that were made for each of their adoptions.

I update the albums every 6 months or so.

I just looked @ both of the albums this am & it sure brought back many wonderful memories.

We also send a pkge of extras along to family members who don't get to see the girls often.

I have an on going pocket albums that I put all my extra pics in. I then either write on the front inside cover what the pictures are and dates or insert a small card in one of the pockets. I use to get doubles of all pics and then had to stop....Albums were multipling too fast...

I put my extra pictures in pocket photo albums with memo spaces. I like Pioneer's ECO Paper Bi-Directional Memo Pocket Album.
They are inexpensive, good quality, and they look nice.

And...I am nearly caught up!

Heck...soemtimes I scrap the same picture on two different pages...sick I know.

To answer your question, however.....I save my duplicates that I don't use. I either use them on pages for family members, or save them for the kids to use.

Someday, you may just need them...think of school events where they ask for pictures. I would keep them in a box in photo safe albums, sorted like I do for scrapping.

I always get double prints. I keep one set for me and divide the rest between my 2 kids who scrap with me:D and both sets of grandparents. Any leftovers I put in photo safe boxes, in chronological order of course!:D

I like having the extra photos where I can see them, rather than in a box in the back of the closet, so I use the new Close To My Heart photo sleeve pages.

They are 12X12 plastic pages that hold 8 (I believe) photos per page. I insert the photo pages behind the layouts I have done of the same event.

Sometimes I go back in and put some of the extra photos on pages after all (one of the GREAT benefits of top-loading albums), but knowing that I can just leave the photos as they are and move on makes me feel less guilty for not scrapping all the photos.

I give my extra pictures to DD who loves to scrapbook as well. I usually don't get duplicates to save money so I try to save a few from each event for her.
