I'm so glad to see Disney have came to thier senses and re-introduced Extra Magic Hours. We've had this privilege before, but it's only been an extra hour BEFORE the parks open, but I now see advertised up to an Extra 3 hours AFTER the park closes. How does this work, if it's only for resort guests, what do they do - empty the park and allow re-entry? Surely not? Any thoughts? :confused3

Its not complicated.

This is how EMH works for all parks at all times (until further notice from WDW).

Look up the POSTED open and close times for any day, any park.

-------MORNING EMH FACTS--------------------------------------

If it is a MORNING EMH, then WDW resort guests staying on-property will be allowed entry to THAT park on THAT day starting ONE HOUR before the posted opening time.
At least one person in your party should have a room key-card with them to verify your current hotel status and gain entry.

-------EVENING EMH FACTS--------------------------------------

If it is a EVENING EMH, then WDW resort guests staying on-property will be allowed to stay and ride attractions at THAT park on THAT day for THREE HOURS after the posted closing time.

(So, YES, if MK is sched. to close at midnight, the EMH will run til 3AM! Yep, that's 3 in the morning. No, its not a mistake, that would be 3 full hours after the posted time. 3AM for a posted 12mid close-time. 3AM, yes sir!)

EACH adult needs to show a room key-card and a wristband will be issued to each adult and child that the ride CMs will check to allow entry to each ride.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

This 1-hour morning EMH and 3-hour evening EMH rule applies at all 4 parks until further notice from WDW.

thanx Robo!!

That clears that up - so the park will be open to EVERYONE but only resort guests can ride the rides - gotcha

So glad they brought it back - beats the lame "character Caravan". They have those everyday in ALL the Disneyland Paris Hotels including Mickey & Minnie!!

Many thanks

No, the parks aren't open to everyone... Resort guests have to show their room cards to gain entry for the MORNING EMH.

If you are staying for an EVENING EMH, then you have to show your room key & get a wristband.

It's for resort guests only...

EXTRA MAGIC HOUR, a program that allows you to visit a particular theme park or water park on a designated day beyond regularly scheduled operating hours, is offered ONLY to guests staying at:

-- Walt Disney World-owned resorts
-- Walt Disney World Dolphin & Swan Resorts
-- Shades of Green
-- Hilton Resort at Downtown Disney

NOTE: Beginning January 2, 2005, an "Enhanced" Extra Magic Hour program, with both morning and evening extended hours, was launched. This coincided with the introduction of the new "MAGIC YOUR WAY" ticket program.

Morning Extra Magic Hour occurs one hour prior to regularly scheduled park opening. That means if the park is scheduled to open at 9 a.m. to the general public, the Extra Magic Hour begins at 8 a.m. Transportation for the park offering Morning Extra Magic Hour will begin 30 minutes earlier than the opening time.

NOTE: You MUST present a valid Key to the World Card (Resort ID) at the park's turnstiles.

Evening Extra Magic Hours typically extend three hours beyond a park's scheduled closing time. You'll need to obtain a wristband at the theme park by presenting a valid Key to the World Card at one of several designated locations no sooner than two hours prior to park close.

NOTE: There has been some confusion regarding the new Magic Your Way tickets and Extra Magic Hour. If your Magic Your Way ticket DOES NOT have the Park Hopper option, you will NOT be able to visit more than one park per day. This means that if you want to take advantage of Extra Magic Hour, you must be sure to visit the park offering it that day or evening.

Example: You visit Magic Kingdom in the morning. Epcot is the Evening Extra Magic Hour park of the day. You MAY NOT go to Epcot that evening if your Magic Your Way ticket does not have the Park Hopper option.
