Extra Magic Hours ???

I wonder if they'll figure out a better way to handle the wristbands by June. It doesn't sound so great- if you have to go wait in lines to get the wristband (even worse if you're parkhopping from another park, have to go through the entrance line for the EMH park even if it's late past the normal closing time and THEN have to go get in a line for the wristband)???

Doesn't sound great to me at all. I don't like the idea of having to take time out of our day at the park to go find a place to stand in line to get a wristband. Why can't they do it earlier in the day or when you enter the park? I guess because there is no way for them to monitor and abusers of the system could get the wristband- pass their card over to someone else and let them get a wristband even if they aren't staying onsite? But they require an ID... so that wouldn't work. So why AREN'T they just asking for ID and card and letting you get the wristband earlier in the day or when you enter the park (regardless of what time that may be- early or late)?

I was looking forward to EMH but it sounds like a pain to get the wristband. We really don't need another line to stand in.

My guess would be if they gave them out earlier people would leave and perhaps not come back. Therefore taking a spot they could have given to someone else. If they give them out just prior, the chances are slim your gonna leave.

I think we will skip the extra hours and go to another park.

We did this in January at each of the parks while we were there for a week. Here's my tip: don't stop at the first wristband distribution area. There are 3 at each park. We noticed that so many people stop at the first one and as we passed the others there was never anyone there. At MGM the line was huge near the stroller pick up, so we didn't stop. As we got to rnr there was no one in line. Since you don't need it until the park closes, no sense in getting it as soon as you get to the park. We just did what we wanted until we happen to past a distribution area with no line. Never a problem....people just love to get in the longest lines instead of exploring other options it seems.

I got this tip before I left and it didn't work on my trip. Maybe it was slower when you went, because every line was really long all the way up to normal closing time. The parks were really packed last week!

Thanks for providing information on the EMH lines for the attractions. It sure doesn't sound like a deal. Going in June and we are so disappointed that E-night is gone. They can keep the EMH and bring back E-Night, now that was a real perk for guests staying at a DW resort.

i definitly agree with kutchyone here. we really enjoyed the eride nights, in fact we did 5 of them when we were there. even though it cost me an extra 50 dollars each time it was money very very well spent. i honestly do not feel that the EMH in the summer will be as enjoyable as e-ride nights are. everyone loves free so i am sure that access to e- ticket rides wil not be easy and the crowds will be large.

From my experience last week, posted on another thread on this subject, I think the best plan, especially during the summer is to go to the park the morning after extra magic evening hours is held. A lot of people will be in bed.

I think they should give you a wristband as you go through the turnstiles when you enter the park, seems like it would make it easier???
